As an overpronator, I thought these shoes would be a worthwhile investment. From the other reviews it seems they work well for many people. But in my case the toe box was too large and the shoes caused my feet to roll outwards while running, causing a lot of foot pain along the outer edge of my feet. I only wore once on a short run and am disappointed I can no longer return. Will not be wearing again.

I have worn the Kayano model for many years, same size, but this model was short and I had to return it. Very disappointing as I liked everything else about the shoe. The next size up was too big.

I read the reviews before I purchased these shoes. I ordered 1/2 size up wide width and they were way too big. I wore Asics all the time then switched to Brooks. I thought I would give them a try again but it did not work out. Everyone has different needs in a shoe. This one did not meet my expectations.

I've been wearing a size 8 in ASICS for over a decade. However, this shoe was right up against my toe to the point I couldn't walk in them. I prefer the fit and feel of the Gel-Kayano 25. Two stars because the design/colors are much improved from the 25's.

After almost a month of wear, my toes are in pain from the shoe digging in various points. Blister pads not helping. I'm hoping this is a 'breaking in' issue.

After reading hundreds of reviews, I felt confident that these should support my foot and offer cushion as I run. The heel are arch support are great, but there is almost no cushion in the front. I was very disappointed.

I am on my feet all day at work, I work in a hospital. My feet were killing me and I needed new shoes so I bought these. I must say I am really disappointed, especially for the price they are. I kept trying to give these time for my feet & body to adjust to them but not only do my feet still hurt a few weeks later, I now have really bad hip pain. I'm guessing from the way these shoes position me? I don't know. I wore ASICS before and they were good and comfortable, these ones not so much.

They're beautiful shoes and very serviceable but the soles are much harder than I thought they'd be. My old ones have more cushion and spring, which is what I'd really anticipated.

I can tell that these would be very comfortable shoes but the Sizing is way off! I ordered a 10 and it fit like an 8.5 or a 9. I could barely get my foot inside but I could feel the cushion provided by this shoe. I will be returning

This is my 3rd pair of kayano 26 and they feel narrow and shorter compared to my other 2 pairs. I'd like to return and purchase a new pair.

I don't know how else to describe it. The toe box fits weirdly. It presses against my pinky toe and leaves too much room for my big toe.

I have owned more than 12 pairs of asics shoes and this one despite the advertised high level comfort and arch support is one of the least comfortable ones, providing very little support for my flat feet. Not worth the price.

I have been experiencing leg aches since I started wearing these shoes. I have been walking in these shoes and had hoped it would get better. So far it has not. I will have to look for another pair of shoes.

I was not very happy with these for what I paid for them. They have a very hard sole and don't flex easy.

These shoes hurt the top of my right foot. They also rub a little low on my heels, but not to the point they hurt or blister, just an odd fit.

These run smaller than previous models. Not happy with my current size. I've always ordered 6.5 but this time they feel so small

I’ve been wearing Asics for years. My 2 yr old pair is worn out and I'm having trouble finding a replacement. The first pair I ordered (in the same size As old pair) was too small and felt very stiff. Sent them back & ordered this pair in a larger size. They too are small and the toe box is so shallow I could feel it pressing through my socks. Also the material used in the upper feels like hard plastic. I’m afraid these are going back as well. Will have to find another brand as the new ASICS don’t seem to be as well made as the older ones. Disappointed...

I had to return this shoe. I have worn these ASICS for several years and ordered my usual size 8. My toe bumped the end so I had to return them.

I have worn Asics Gel-Kayano for years. They were one of the few manufacturers who made size 13 2A width. Now they have stopped making this narrow width and the B width is very big. The 26 is a boxy wide toe box and a bit small in length but not enough for me to order a size up. However, this shoe is so wide my feet move around in the shoe even when laced as tight as possible (making the laces extremely long??). The heel is snug but on a narrow foot like mine that is a good thing but it seems odd to have a snug heel fit with such a wide toe box. I wish a large retailer like Zappos would intervene with manufacturers to encourage manufacturing changes based on multiple reviews (i.e. 2A width, narrow toe box) to offer shoe models for all customers. I also wish manufacturers would listen to their customers and offer models they used to make. Can anyone recommend an athletic shoe for a long and narrow foot?
I'd also recommend:

I tried to love these. ASICS has changed their design and discontinued several lines of their women's running shoes (I loved the Gel Kinsei & Gel Sendai) so often, I fish around with sizing and comfort until I find what works. I need these to teach a high intensity group exercise class so I require good lateral stability with high arch support. These seemed to fit the bill, however, after increased time wearing them around to break them in, I felt irritation (a burning sensation) in both of my Achilles. Disappointing because I loved the navy with almond. These are going back through Zappos 30 day Runlimited Guarantee. I'm trying the Gel Nimbus 22.

I have been wearing Gel Kayano 26 for years and decided to purchase these based on the great look and from my history of running with Gel Kayano 26. These shows are rigid, harder than others and I could only wear them once.

I’ve been running in the ASICS Kayano since the 14s, and I’ve always worn an 8. This is the first time in almost 12 years that I’ve had to switch to an 8.5. I received them in size 8 as a gift, and I couldn’t believe how small they were. I even took pictures of my 25s next to these 26s from different angles, and CLEARLY the 26s are smaller. I was disappointed, but I thought I’ll get the 8.5s and it will be okay. Unfortunately this was not the case. The 8.5s are just slightly too big, long in the toe box area. They are wearable, but I won’t be buying this model again, for sure. I loved my 25s, I don’t know why they changed so much of a great shoe. Might be time to move on to something new.

My Left Shoe is awesome - fits like butter and is great for long runs BUT my Right Shoe has a manufacturer's fault where I can feel the plate hit my big toe and second toe - the top of the shoe is already bent out of place completely and I have barely used the shoes thus far.
