Before the pandemic hit, when I could use the elliptical machine at the gym, which does not stress shoes from all angles, the Romy was great, looked really cute, and lasted a good long while. Now, however, walking on irregular surfaces through neighborhoods and across fields, which we've all had to do for social distancing, the shoe is not holding up. The midsole has collapsed after about 3-1/2 months (not constant wear), which actually sent me to a podiatrist. (The doctor confirmed the midsole collapse is causing me to pronate.) I also learned I need HARD shaped insoles to both support my arch and keep the ligament that runs along the bottom of my foot stretched (vs. shrinking!). So, while I love the Romy, until I can get back to the gym I have to buy more structured athletic shoes with structure insoles. In short, I could buy two Romys for every one orthopedic athletic shoe, but would STILL need a replacement insole that provides structured arch support. For all these reasons, it was really hard to come up with a star-rating for the Romy.

The Easy Spirit Romy 8 fits me well and doesn't make my large foot look quite so big. I have a narrow heel but like more room in the toe box to prevent bunions. I have a pair in smooth leather black/gray and one in suede medium blue. I would really like to also have a smooth leather navy with a dark sole for rainy and winter weather.

I haven't bought shoes in years because my feet are so screwed up. Finally, my last pair of Easy Spirit Anti-Gravity shoes from years earlier started unraveling at the seams so I needed to do something. I brought in eight pairs of shoes including Brooks, New Balance, and Easy Spirit. These Romy 8 shoes were the only ones narrow enough through the sides, roomy enough in the toes, long enough so that my big toe didn't hit the front of the shoe, roomy enough for my orthodics, and not BUTT UGLY. (Yes, that's a long list of requirements). I asked Zappos what differentiated the ROMY 8 from the regular ROMY and was told the ROMY 8 is for light running. Well, it's a great shoe but I don't see it offered in any color other than light blue (which is very pretty, by the way.) Can't wait for it to be available in other colors.

Loved the style and fit of the shoe but it did not have enough arch support for me. I sent it back.

I bought these shoes for heel pain. They are very soft and feel good if I have to walk a lot. I use the white ones for nursing shoes. Great shoe!

I bought this shoe in 2E (extra wide) & I couldn’t be more pleased. Comfy right out of the box. My feet/toes aren’t squished at all. My right foot hates all shoes...except this one, so I’m buying more in different colors. I can walk now w/o having to sit down constantly. And, as usual, Zappos makes shoe buying so easy.

The Romy 8 I loved the style but just didn't work for me. I wore it for a day and then my feet started to hurt. The shoe was so big and wide for the 10AA. I wore these many years ago and decided to try them again by ordering the same size as then. I even put another insole on top of the one in the shoe and it still slipped around and the laces loosen up on me too, wouldn't stay tight, so had to keep tighting them. It seems that shoes are wider than they used to be. I guess I will have to go back to my Saucony's as they fit me in the same size!

Great fit and comfortable. Many shoes don't allow for my high arch, my low heel, or my swollen feet. No problem. I even have enough shoe lace to tie them.

Love them a lot very hard for me to find shoes that are comfortable

I bought this sneaker on the strength of the reviews and thank you, reviewers. I am a petite person with crazy wide feet. I also walk miles every day to walk off the stress of the world. Finding shoes that fit and look cute is an ordeal. I am a total convert to these sneakers. I can't believe how comfortable these are. I got them in a 7 WW and all I had to do was loosen the laces and they felt great immediately. I really like the powder blue and the way they look. Finally sneakers I can wear to walk in and meet up with a friend without looking clunky. Wide shoes that have some style to them. It's the holy grail of shoes.

I have a large, wide foot and have a hard time finding tennis shoes that fit. The fit is great and I like how it looks.

Fits perfectly with no breaking-in needed. Very comfortable with room for my orthotic and wiggle room for my toes. Good quality for a reasonable price.

Too small.

I returned these shoes due to fit. I need a wide toe box, a high instep and a narrow heel which is admittedly a difficult conversation. These shoes were ordered in Wide, but the toe box was a bit narrow. The heel was much too wide and slipped when I walked. The shoe is nice and the return is due to only too poor fit.

I didn't need a longer shoe, I needed just a little bit wider shoe and these are great. Very comfortable. Thanks Zappos!
