I’m very happy with this shoe overall. I did have to go up a half size, which I rarely need to do. I love the strong arch support. I need so much support this way that I practically live in running shoes. It’s lovely to be able to wear something cute like this without paying for it later with aching legs and hips. The shoe is well made, sturdy, comfortable and stylish.

I bought these for a trip to Chicago, figured they could look cute with Jeans or shorts because you never know what the weather will be. They looked nice but that is the only reason they got more than one star. The reviews are not honest. These shoes are anything but comfy- more on par with Walmart sneakers. Less or converse much better! Way over priced

Love these! First I purchased the Superga's, but had to return as the insole is NOT removable (despite asking this question before purchase). The Taos are very comfortable with my orthotics inside---I was impressed by the cushioned insole that I removed. The toe box is wide and very comfortable. Looks good with summer dresses too---rec'd compliments.

just got my second pair. I love these shoes! (I did go up half a size.) If I don't have excellent arch support I get Plantar fasciitis and stress fractures. I'm so thrilled to find shoes that are really cute and allow me to walk for miles everyday. (I walk to work and then all over my campus all day long.) I'm trying to decide if I need a third color. Thanks to Zappos, as always, for letting me try on what must be millions of shoes just to get a few that I can wear.

After reading a few other reviews, I ordered 1/2 size up. It fits perfectly!! The length and width fit great (my foot is regular width). The arch support is even better than my birks. I could wear these shoes all day and never experience any foot pains. I’m so pleased with these shoes

I so wanted to like these cute shoes but the just weren’t comfortable on me. I have a high arch and the laces are much too short. So sadly they are going back.

I’m an art teacher and I stand all day, on concrete no less. After years of coming home with aching feet, trying all kinds of shoes, I have finally discovered Taos. They are cute and stylish (especially with the leather detailing) but more importantly, they have SO MUCH SUPPORT. Great shock absorption, arch support, and overall comfort from the first day. Well designed soles perfect for walking and standing, with plenty of traction. It’s amazing to finally have my feet not hurt at the end of a long day. Life changing. I honestly can not recommend these enough. I’m ready for a closet full of Taos!

I LOVE these shoes. They're the only "cute" sneaker I can wear and actually be able to walk. I'm very flat footed with plantar fasciitis and with this shoe I can walk without pain. I'm ordering my 3rd pair. I did go up a 1/2 size as recommended and they fit perfectly.

Love these shoes, remind me of classy “chucks”. Cute casual footwear. As athletic shoes go, they feel flat and firm, and took a little (mental) getting used to them. The insole actually has great arch support and padded footbed, but can be easily removed and I inserted my orthotic insoles which also fit great in this shoe.

Best. Shoe. Ever. People were saying it doesn’t have good support. It has excellent support. It’s also adorable. Great color. Goes with everything. Plus, I thought I was sent the wrong size as it looked like a six. I wear 9.5. It was the correct size. It is designed so marvelously that it has an added benefit of looking tiny! How good is that?!?

This is my third pair of Taos sneakers. I just spent 10 days in New Orleans walking up to 8 miles per day wearing nothing but my Taos Stars. Even though the weather was hot and humid and it drizzled occasionally, my feet stayed cool, comfortable (absolutely no blisters!), and dry. And my feet were not tired at the end on of the day due to the excellent fit and arch support. I usually wear a 5 1/2 but sized up to a 6 in these and they fit perfectly. The style looks cute with shorts, jeggings, jeans, skorts.

I have bunionettes and need a wide toe box, and these worked out great. I did size up a half size as suggested, and they were perfect. The arch support in these is insane. The insole is super thick. These were super comfortable and didn’t even need a breaking-in period. Very well-made. Worth the money.

I followed advice and went up a half size, great advice. I'm usually a 7 1/2, got the 8 and I am so happy with these sneakers. They look great and they have support.

These shoes are terrific. I have to size up a half-size in Taos, and these fit perfectly and comfortably out of the box. No breaking-in period; I can walk for miles in these. I have plantar fasciitis so I have to be extra-careful about arch support. These shoes deliver; my custom orthotics fit perfectly, but the insole that comes with the shoe is actually excellent, and I've just kept those in. And they're cute.

I read the reviews, and although I normally wear a size 7.5, based on the reviews I went up a half size and ordered the 8. This was a mistake! The 8s were too long and arch support was not under my arch. I ordered the size 7.5 and they are fantastic, fit perfectly and the arch support is outstanding (I have high arches and generally wear an arch support insert, but I don't need them with these shoes). Bravo!

I'm female, and wear a size 8.5 usually. I have an average arch and need a little more width across the toe, but am not a true wide. Size chart for this shoe seems accurate. I was VERY impressed with the arch support and my toes were not pinched. However, I felt like something about this shoe made my foot look "manly". I can't decide if it was the shape of the toe box, or the fact that the shoe lace holes are spaced pretty far apart, so there is a lot of criss crossing noise, not a streamlined look, if that makes sense.

A perfect fit for my narrow heel. Ordered a half-size up-just enough extra room in the toe. Great look & very comfortable.

I have the Retro Star in a 10.5. I usually wear a 10. Ordered up as suggested. I ordered the Star burst in a 10.5. It is too short. Have to return. Will try am 11.

I like the style and the arch support. I owned a similar pair of Star sneakers, the original, which felt a little small (9 1/2) but the canvas loosened up over time and I loved the shoes. I decided to buy a half size larger (10), hoping the shoes would feel comfortable right out of the box. Unfortunately, that 1/2 size larger feels too big. My feet slide around in the shoes and they feel too long. I think I may return them and try the 9 1/2 instead.

I found the hyper arch support comfy but because it builds you up so much it made my heel slip in the back. So I removed the inserts and put in a pair of prefab inserts I got off a medical supply site. Now they are perfect. More fashionable than wearing my running shoes when I run errands or go out to lunch. I like the wide toe box and the flat laces.

I bought a few different pairs of shoes like this from Zappos (i.e., black canvas lace-ups) and these were by far my favorites for fit and look over others (e.g., Vans ComfyCush, Superga Cotu). I have narrow feet, and these are also probably more normal than the seemingly-wide feeling of the other shoes I tried. Additionally, I love the brown leather detailing on these shoes - I feel like that elevates it beyond "typical skater shoe". I also love that the soles/laces are a bit off-white/ivory compared to other brands. I wear more autumn colors, and although I can pull off black, it looks best when it is with warm colors for me. My only complaint is that the arches felt a little awkward that first day, but became more comfortable after that. Honestly, I think that is because I usually live in flats and am not used to usually having such great arch support!

I did listen to other reviews and ordered a half size up- glad I did! They fit great. They also have phenomenal arch support and are super cute- two things that are difficult to find together in a shoe

I could get rid of all the shoes that I own and just wear these everyday! They’re so cute and comfortable! Amazing arch support (I have a very high arch) and lots of room in the toe area so no rubbing. I got the light gray and it goes with everything. I ordered a half size up based on what others said and glad I did. Plus, because of the shape of the shoe, they make my feet look small (I got them in 8.5).
