Is loose in the heel area.

I had to return the shoes. The "heel box" was so big that my ankles rubbed on the edges. I have worn similar styles of New Balance shoes for many years, but these ones would have needed a heel lift to get my foot high enough to be comfortable.

I have a long narrow foot and it's very hard to find shoes that fit. I ordered this shoe in a 12AA and it felt very much like a medium. The toe box was too wide and you couldn't lace it up tight enough without the puckering the fabric.

Very happy to find this New Balance hiking shoe in narrow sizes. NB has long been my go-to brand for athletic shoes, offering what I find to be best combination of fit, comfort and value. About a year ago I looked for a replacement pair of new balance hiking shoes, since my decade-old pair was literally falling apart, and sadly couldn’t find anything that came in Narrow sizes (even on Zappos!). I settled for some Columbia shoes that have never fit quite right. This new pair does the trick!

If you can find your fit this is a good pair of shoes, they last a long while and have good support and spring. I have purchased this style before and loved them though this time the sizing seemed off and I had to go to a larger size than before (am having to have too much length in order to gain width). I do not know if it is NB or my feet have changed but I cannot seem to reorder the very same sizes despite that I already own and wear them! I do not like tripping over the extra long toe but I need the shoe so am keeping this larger pair (had to return the size I normally wear).

I wanted these to work, and they were "OK". However, they were hurting under my ankle bone where the side of the shoe came up pretty high and was rubbing. I felt if they were uncomfortable there immediately out of the box it didn't bode well, and I really needed to be able to walk 5 miles in these shoes. If I can't walk that far in them, I simply don't need another pair of "OK to run to the store" shoes. I examined the shoe to see if maybe the padding would push down, or "break in" to be softer and not rub and it didn't seem like it. If I were desperate for walking shoes I would have kept them and hoped they would soften up; however, I decided they would probably continue to be a problem and returned. The rest of the shoe - collar padding, width/fit, toe box, arch support, etc. was fine. Just one "pain point."

Perfect fit and comfortable right out of the box. No break in required, went shopping (comfortably) on the first day! I can always count on New Balance!

The left shoe felt a half size smaller. I have never had issues with this before. I was a little nervous that the insoles would be too soft, but they are very comfortable.

These were comfortable, but the toe box was too spacious and the extra material tended to wrinkle up when I bent my foot, so they looked too big. And they were just too boxy for my taste.

I have never had trouble with the New Balance Women's 608 until Version 5. In the past, I have worn the 608's straight out of the box with total comfort. The pair I received the left shoe looked like it was a complete shade lighter than the right shoe. The fabric inside the heel box of the left shoe worn down to the inner material within one week and appears to have the toe box stitched on incorrectly as compared to the right shoe. The left shoe also rubbed on my heel so bad that I had to go without shoes for 24 hours to relieve the pain in my heel. I am returning these because Zappos is awesome with their return policy, but I'm disappointed in this pair of New Balance shoes. They were my favorite style to wear to work and now I'm searching for a replacement pair that won't hurt my feet.

I love NB. These are nice looking kicks for the fall and thought a litle stiff at first, after wearing the for about an hour the were great. The insoles have a lot of cushion. Very comfy.

I almost didn’t order these because I hate brown shoes, but they are more gray than brown- a very neutral color. I like them so much I ordered a second pair for when these wear out.

When I ordered the shoes I was told they would be here on the 6th of June. They arrived on the 13th of June. They were the right style I ordered, but not the right color. I ordered the tan color. I was sent the gray color.

This review is only for the shoes. I ordered narrow width and when I received it - too short but I wasn't sure if I needed a 8 or 8 1/2. ...not really narrow - could pull the laces in too much and that was with inserts .It was too spacious in the vamp /instep. Not really for a narrow foot.

I have worn New Balance shoes all my life. I have always loved them but something is off with these. I have the widest foot of anyone I know yet the wide, not extra wide is too wide for me. I have to lace them up tighter then they should be and I am still swimming in them. I would have returned them but I worn them before I realized the odd fit and little arch support. I have never had a bad experience with New Balance but these will go to the back of my closet to be pulled out for a muddy day in the garden.
