I’m a 9.5, but ordered a 10 because my toes and forefoot are a tad wide (and I hate cramming my feet), and this toe shape is narrow and a bit pointy. Wish it wasn’t, because it does crowd the toes :( This is a very interesting style. Unique for sure. I like it a lot, but my preferences tend towards quirky. Would note that it looks larger than it is, but I just don’t give a funion about that bs. Big difference between this and other “nice” boots in quality- REAL stacked heel (not leather wrapped to look stacked, but peels away when you scuff it on a cement stairway, barstool, etc.), thick leather, vibram sole.

You will regret not putting these on your credit card. Comfortable, stylish and somehow sexy. I will never need to buy another boot again. This is who I am now.

These boots are beautiful. The black leather is soft and boot is well structured at the same time. They do run a bit narrow, but my feet run on the narrow side. I have a bad ankle and need a heel and structured shoe for good support. These are perfect. I've read reviews about a break in period and even how to help your boots break in easier, but didn't have that issue at all. I even wore them the first day with tights and they just fit perfectly with no hot spots or areas where they'd have to soften a bit. The laces are a bit long for me, but that isn't a real problem. I wrapped twice. I did polish and seal them (especially that stacked heel) before wearing outside. I don't even want to get a scuff on them. They seem very versatile like I could wear with jeans or dress them up. I typically don't buy boots in this price range, but am very happy I did. I'm thinking about getting a brown pair as well.

Love these shoes! Super cute with jeans, wide leg pants and tights with skirts/dresses. I think the heel height is perfect: gives you some extra height without putting too much pressure on the ball of your foot. I do think they might run slightly narrow though. My feet are on the narrow side so they actually fit me better than I expected, but just something to keep in mind if you like/need wider shoes.

I have fallen in love with these boots, almost wearing them every day! When I first tried them on I thought maybe I should return them because they are stiff and tight out of the box and do run extremely narrow IMO. At the end of a long day, my one foot that has nerve damage is a little achy - but that's a Me Problem! Otherwise, the other foot is totally happy and they do indeed break in as soon as you put them on and start walking in them. I have no issues getting them on with no zipper (I looked specifically for this style without a zipper and they are hard to find!) They come with long, thin leather laces with aglets so they won't wear at the ends, and they are long enough to be able to open the shaft of the boot enough to get them on without having to relace. They have a great retro look that makes me think 1940's work boots. I've worn them with jeans and flannel, skirts and tights, and a sort of Southwestern look! They look awesome with everything. Love them! Highly recommend them, but just be aware that if you have any kind of wide foot, they may not work, even if you buy a larger a size. Bonus: made in the gool ol' US of A!! Worth every penny...want them in brown now!

These were a big splurge for me. I wear a 6.5 and read review and bought a 6.5. They were really narrow for me and being unfinished inside would rub the top of my feet. I am really sorry they didn't work for me. I would try a half size or full size bigger. But I am going to try another boot instead.

I really loved the look of these boots. For the price I feel they should be comfortable right out of the box. I know some reviewers say they break in fast but I’m not gonna take that chance. I could really feel the side seams and don’t know how that would feel after a while....again...not willing to take the chance for this price. I have to say though, they are beautiful and very well made!

Went up from my usual 10 to an 11 based on reviews, and they fit well - I don’t think I’d ever wear with thin socks, so the extra room is welcome. The heel is extremely comfortable and doesn’t look too chunky, and my ankles feel really well supported. The boot is substantial without feeling bulky. Really well made. I love them.

Beautiful boots with very nice, thick leather. They will need to be broken in a bit but I’m sure will be comfortable with wear. Quality is amazing. I usually wear a 9 but got a 9.5 since I have a wider forefoot. They fit perfectly.

I ordered these in an 8 which is my usual size, and the fit was just right with my favorite mid-weight SmartWool socks. I don't have particularly wide feet, but these did feel pretty narrow in the toe-box at first, but I'm confident that over the time the leather will give a bit. That being said, they were so comfortable otherwise (and beautiful!) I went ahead and wore them for a short shift at work where I was on my feet for about 5 hours straight. They actually felt more comfortable the longer I had them on. I am completely in love with these boots and the combination of the style, functionality (lug sole), and quality. The price point definitely makes the Clara boots an investment but I have no regrets, and already have my eye on the Harriet boot in Black.

I am a 7 1/2 in most shoes and this shoe size runs accurate. I love this boot! I saw a woman wearing these boots, I took a picture of them, and luckily found them on wonderful Zappos. The color is fabulous. These are extremely comfortable despite having a heel. I originally thought all the laces and no zipper would be problematic. No problem at all and getting these on! It’s still 115° in Phoenix, but as soon as it cools down I will be donning these boots with both dresses and jeans. I see these as an updated white sneaker, casual yet chic . I'm so sad. I had to return because the instep and toe box were TIGHT. I've never ordered a wide shoe, but I could barely get my feet in these and immediately had pain- not just discomfort. They appear well made, good leather, good arch support, beautiful boots. I suspect they're the kind of boot that would improve with time and last forever.

I had to completely unlace these to get them on. They felt too long, and the insole is so hard they hurt my metatarsals when I walked on them. I tried adding inserts, which helped. But at this price, they should be comfortable on their own. I am not sure I would ever be able to walk in them long enough to break them in, as other reviewers have done. I returned them. They are very well made and do give firm ankle support. They looked and felt more like combat boots. I actually like that look, but these just werent for me.

I do not have wide feet. I am an 8.5/9 in all shoes. I ordered these in a 9 and though the technically fit, my feet felt really compressed. The red wing website says they should fit comfortably tight and everyone says they will stretch out. But. I felt too cramped in them. I ordered a 9 WIDE and they are buttery and perfect. If you can handle a break in period these will be good for you. I just found the wide to be a relief.

Love the look and style of these boots, but they are EXTREMELY narrow. It felt like I was trying to bind my feet in my normal size and even in a half size up. Also, the lining in the boot hits at a weird spot on the back of my heel and would definitely cause blisters if I even attempted to wear them. I'm not afraid of breaking in a stiff boot, but this is not the case. Unfortunately, I have to accept that these just aren't for me, which sucks. Great customer service from Zappos as usual, though!

I have very narrow feet, but these are absurdly narrow. They’re beautiful - the leather is incredibly nice, the heel is actually stacked leather and not just leather wrapped - but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to make them work because they’re so narrow, particularly in the toebox. I’m normally a 7.5, occasionally sizing up to an 8 depending on the brand, but even an 8 was uncomfortably narrow. If you want a beautiful shoe to wear occasionally for a few hours, this would be fine, but if you want to wear this all day and walk a lot, I think it could get pretty painful.

I would not order these from Zappos again. A very expensive boot came thrown into a box, it was not even the correct shoe box,, one of the laces was broken at the end. I dont know what has happened with Zappos but I am finding it hard to remain loyal after 15 years of shopping with you.

I could barely squeeze my foot in there and I already have the black ones! Not sure whats going on with the brown ones.

These are beautiful. I can't bring myself to wear them because they are THAT pretty.

The boots fit well, are very comfortable and the leather is soft. The only reason i gave 4 stars for styling is because they would have been much more user friendly if they had speed hooks at the top.
