Excellent choice for a beginning hiker on easy/moderate terrain. The additional armor on the heel and ball allow for a fearless clomping through the woods, yet the mesh and rubber is light enough that the weight is no hinderance to nimbleness.

I have to say these shoes are one of the most comfortable shoes I have owned. The mesh really lets the air breathe. However, being so open, it won't provide any protection against rain. They seem to be of high quality and have removable soles, so you can replace them with aftermarket ones when they wear out. The only pair of shoes that were more comfortable than these were some sketchers, but you couldn't remove the soles, so they were retired more quickly than I wanted. Overall, I think these are well worth the money.

Great, lightweight very airy shoe. Too airy for winter use though. Loved these so much I bought a second pair. I'm a 9 with Nike, but 8.5 in Merrells. They tend to run a little big in my opinion.

I wear these for work every day. I do put my own inserts in them, but they are quite comfortable for a day of work and short jaunts around the office.

Runs 1/2 size small like most Merrill. Not a true water shoe as there are no drainage ports . The mesh serves as an outlet and lets air in , but this would be a great shoe if designed to drain. Takes a little time to break in and needs socks initially. A good shoe for rappelling and crossing an occasional river in Laos .

Shoes fit true to size. Comfortable right out of the box. They style and color were as expected. Got them covered in mud on second wear. Washed and dried well after being hosed off. Good shoe!

I was hoping these ran wide - I would have ordered a wide fitting were it available, but no, they were true to 'M' width which is too narrow for me. They felt slightly short as well. A shame - would have kept them if they fit.

I ordered four pairs of shoes from Zappos to use on a Grand Canyon River Rafting trip, I wanted to check out the size and fit before picking one. All four seemed true to size and had a good fit, but I ended up not choosing these.
