I thought I had found the perfect sandal. I love the color, style and most importantly the comfort. But this sandal fell short in size. I wear an 8.5 M and the description says it will fit a shoe size of 8.5/9. It fell short in this area. There is also a gap around the ankle with no way to adjust. Very disappointed to have to return them. The search continues...

I purchased the Navy (and the Stone, a separate listing) in a size 40, which fit my size 10M feet perfectly. It's so hard to find an open toe, closed back, flat sandal -- these are ideal for my office and comfortable enough to walk to and from the subway. I do have to use a shoehorn to get my feet into these puppies, but once in, the fit is perfect.

These are a wonderful style and the fit was great with the exception of my very low instep, which was a problem since the 'cross over' straps were too loose. I really hated to not be able to keep these shoes; they're really cute and comfortable.

This is an update to the review I posted before. Originally, I bought size 39, the one I usually get (my US size is 8.5-9). Unfortunately, they were just a little too short,so I returned them and ordered size 40 in scarlet. The shoe is beautiful, they are well made and I wish I could keep them. Sadly the larger size is only slightly longer, but it also significantly wider, so my foot keeps sliding forward and the shoe is not long enough, so my toes are over the edge again. I am sad, I wish I could keep these. Pikolinos is wonderful and I have several pairs of shoes by them, they are comfortable and last a long time, but sometimes they just don't work. So if you are considering these, give them a try, if they fit, you will love them and use them for years!

I really liked the look of this shoe. I have a narrow foot and sadly it is too loose overall. I was hoping I could tighten with the velcro, but in the toe area, there is no way to tighten. I will be sending it back.

These shoes are comfortable and very elegant. They work well with dresses, shorts, and pants. I have gotten many compliments on them already. I was worried that the criss cross of the leather might not be flattering to the leg line, but they look wonderful on. The leather is soft and very durable. I accidentally got caught in a downpour of rain one of the first times I wore them and they still look perfect. There is absolutely no discoloration. I would recommend these shoes.

Really liked these but they were too deep for my feet and looked sloppy. Nice looking though.

These sandals are wonderful: great looking, comfortable and well-made. Unfortunately, they run small - I got my usual size 39 (I am 8.5-9, depending on a brand) and the width was perfect, but my toes were hanging over the edge. I will try a larger size and report, but I worry that they will be wider.

Fit was perfect. This is a very comfortable walking shoe. I had the gold version and ordered the brown for a little different look and feel (maybe a little more casual). I have worn these out to places where I have done a lot of walking - they are comfortable and look great. I will take these on vacations as they look nice and are comfortable enough to spend the day walking around in and then going out at night.

These are a truly elegant sandal and make my foot look great! They are very comfortable, but being very flat, there is little arch support, which is okay with me. These would not be my choice to wear for a full day at an amusement park, but they will be a go-to for errands around town or a day at the office.

The straps are a bit loose with no way to adjust. That said the shoe is comfortable and just what I was looking for.

Shoe was loose on one foot and tighter on the other foot. With no velcro there was no way to try adjusting the shoe. I am sending back and trying some others. I did like the shoe if it would not have been too loose on one foot. The other foot that was tight might have loosened up with wear.

I ordered white but these were cream colored.

I wish the criss cross straps had been adjustable because they stood 1/2 inch above my foot. I was afraid I'd continually walk out of the shoes. The length and width were ok, but the straps did nothing to hold the sandals on my foot. I have another pair of pikolinos (ankle boots) and I love them. I was disappointed in these sandals.

This shoe is stunning. Since I am 80, I need my heels covered. I also need comfort and these deliver! These are easy to put on and very comfortable to wear all day..

Unfortunately, this shoe was needed to be adjustable for me. My toes were starting to go over the front edge very slightly. I'm pretty sure they would keep going forward if I did any serious walking in them. The fact that I can't tighten my foot to stay back is my reason for returning since I like the style of the shoe.

I love the style of these shoes and Pikolinos are one of my favorite brands. However, there was something 'off' about the way these fit. Even thought they were true to size, my big toes on both feet hung over the front edge. The top of the back leather also scraped the back of my heel. My daughter, who wears a half size smaller than me, also tried them on. They were slightly too big for her yet her big toes hung over the front edge too. Not sure why this occurs because the shoes are flat and nothing seems to be driving the foot forward. Thank you Zappos for your return policy.

I wanted these shoes to fit. I like the brand for their comfort and quality, but these were a no go on my foot. the strap across the toes was too tight and the cross strap that went around to the heel piece was too loose, with no way to adjust. Cute shoe if straps had been sized to fit my foot.

I had ordered the 37 originally but it was too large as I'm wearing these without socks (I'm usually a 37 in Birkenstocks with socks). The 36 was initially a little tight but the leather is soft and I wore it an entire day with a decent amount of walking around and, while I did get a small blister by the end of the day, considering it was my first day wearing the shoes, that was pretty good. I'm sure they'll stretch out even more with wearing. I do need to use a shoe horn to keep the heel from crunching up as there is no firm backing for the heel (which does make it softer).

This black pair of Pikolinos Algar is my 3rd pair. i have a high arch and these are perfect. my normal shoe size is 9 1/2 in an adjustable strap or lace up, but I went up to a 10 to allow for space of an arthritic and protruding joint in my big toe… love the comfort and style. well made, all leather upper, and simple lines make this a great shoe. I get compliments on these shoes! although they have little arch support, I can ear these all day.

My first pair of Pikolinos! I love them! For me comfortable, fit is very good and totally great looking shoe. So cool European.

Comfortable and cute right out of the box, Pikolinos is a favorite brand, never gone wrong with any of them.

I ordered these in orange last summer because they were the closest in style to my beloved (and worn out) Chie Mihara sandals, and cost 1/3 the price. So, when I saw that Pikolinos were offering the same design this year, I ordered another pair in green. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately have to return. European sizing doesn't seem to fit my foot which is 8-8.5. size 38 is too small and 39 too large.

These are beautiful shoes. Unfortunately they hit the back of my foot in an irritating way.
