Loose. Given how the tongue of the shoe is, if you tighten the laces, the tongue folds up and presses into the top of your foot. It's a ridiculous design...as if no one even tried them on! These are silly shoes made for people who don't actually run.

The high back, even though soft, is a bit of an irritant and rubs on the ankle area. Hoping to get accustomed to it and it just becomes something I don't notice.

Bought for my 13 year old son that keeps outgrowing his shoes. NB wide sizes always seem to work for him. He says they are very comfortable. The black on black color are good since he can use them for orchestra and acting without us having to buy a pair of expensive shoes he only wears a few times before outgrowing them.

Overall a very comfortable show. My only issue was that for my normal size, the toe (box) area of the show is a bit narrow, causing my big toe to contact the outside of the shore more than other (New Balance) styles. I felt this might cause rubbing of the big tow after hours of wear. So, I reluctantly sent them back. My advice - give them a try. Also, I think the show has great style.

Love them! Super comfortable to wear all day. I use mine for music festivals and they’ve been great!

The shoes are great but were listed as men’s sizing so I ordered my size in men’s (a 7.5, im typically a 9/9.5 in women’s) but these showed up and had to have been a 7.5 women’s. I couldn’t even get my foot in. Very disappointed!

I was apprehensive about buying this type of shoe because I wasn’t sure how they’d look and feel for my foot shape. I have decently wide feet that means I can’t wear anything in the normal range, even a few sizes up, that doesn’t cause discomfort. My most recent shoe purchase was a pair of Sketchers Track Moultons that were great but not exactly sexy and I needed a replacement after wearing them for about two years. I like this whole line from New Balance but like I said, I was a bit nervous about the fit and how this style in particular would work for me. I’m talking about “does it look like I’m trying too hard to not look like a Dad” styling. I’ve heard that NB’s 990 is the most-comfortable-shoe-ever but I’m not ready to rock that style just yet. They came in a day earlier than I expected and so my kids got a look at them first. “Cool-Dad shoes” was the general consensus. I’m down with that. I came home from about eight hours on my feet in my Sketchers and into these bad-boys, straight out of the box, and my worries were allayed. The fit is spot on with good wiggle room. I like the style and the cushioning is enough but not too bulky, your opinion may be different. I’ve worn them in place of my Sketchers for two days and my feet feel pretty good, though I’m still recovering from some previous soreness. Disclaimer: I don’t believe the laces do much in the way of securing the shoes or as a means to tighten them if they feel loose. They fit like a sock and the laces are mostly for aesthetic purposes only. I prefer a slip-on shoe and that’s what hooked me with these in particular. Also, your feet will hang over the sides a little, depending on how wide your feet are. I don’t see this as being a problem. I have relatively narrow heels with the widest point being the “knuckle” area and a short tapering to my toes. You may notice from the photo of the top view that there are little points where my feet stretch the material a little. That leads me to the only downside, for me. I’d be completely happy if they came in one size wider. TL;DR - the shoes are very comfy right out of the box. FYI: the laces are for show only and the cushioning feels good but may be too bulky for some. I wish they’d be available one size wider.

I am so disappointed that these are a bit too snug on my husband. He loves the style, the weight of them and how light weight they are. However, they are just a bit too small to make them wearable

Excellent shoe in all ways. They are very comfortable, good looking and very light weight. I like them so much I bought a second pair for the future in case they discontinue the model.

I like the color blue. I am a Bronco fan and that is close to the blue. The fit is great. True to size. I haven't worn them much but will soon. I like the a great deal.

These are the second pair of these I’ve owned. My original pair were in the Black and Habanero color-way, I believe. You may see my previous review somewhere. I love them and will definitely buy them again. Anyway, the fit is similar - a little snug because I’m wearing thicker socks. I’ve been wearing a pair of Thorogood Moc Toes as my everyday shoe but I needed something I could slip into quickly and head out the door. A couple of things I learned from my old pair: - Your feet will slip around a bit inside them if you have to change direction really quickly or when you’re pushing or pulling a decently heavy load. So not really ideal for moving heavy things or running. They are great in the gym though. I think they’re pretty lightweight and there’s really nothing in the way or ankle articulation. - Wherever your toes are putting constant pressure (top of the pinky toes, in my case) will begin to show wear and tear first. Their lifespan depends on how often you wear them. They were my everyday shoe so I think they lasted about 7 months give or take a few weeks. The mesh construction is probably the only part that bums be out. I had to stop wearing them because of how large the pinky-toe-holes were getting, not because any other part of the shoe failed. As I mentioned earlier, that’s the fault of my foot. But I wouldn’t go a size up because they would be a little too loose. I still wish they’d come in one size wider though. - The heel height (drop?) is a little higher than you may be used to and it can feel like you’re being pushed forward but you’ll get used to it soon enough, if it doesn’t bother the heck out of you. - You may have to turn the shoes sideways to get your foot into it, especially in the beginning. I’ve said that I have decently wide feet and I have to turn them sideways to get my foot into it. I have tried to stick my foot straight into it but that never worked, even when they were broken in. I basically have to pull them on. TL;DR: These are a great casual sneaker that goes on like a sock. The laces are vestigial and will make no real difference if tightened. Not for use for running or moving anything heavy but great in the gym. Holes will develop in the mesh uppers in the places where your feet apply the most constant pressure. Would definitely buy again. Thanks for listening to my TED talk.

Look better in person but sock shoes are weird and give no support despite the extraneous laces

Probably one of the most comfortable runners/trainers I've purchased in a while. I wanted something that I didn't need to lace up every time and this is perfect. It has a great snug feel without being to tight and it's true to size.

These are my go-to daily casual shoes for work and walking around town. They are snug but very comfortable, secure, and easy to get on and off without tying and untying—just slip them on. My last pair of these held up to the elements pretty well, but of course, since uppers on these are fabric, they will absorb water quickly, so it's not great for wet weather days. Overall, I hope to wear these for years to come.

Heel is a bit big so these shoes are a little loose on the heel. Very lightweight shoe and very comfortable.
