These shoes are the best for my feet. The narrow width, the fit, and support are superb. I can only wear the 990v5 and purchase multiple colors. I can't wait until the gray and black are back in stock. Meanwhile I'll enjoy my navy ones.

The best made in America shoes for long walks. These shoes feel great, fit perfect, are very supportive and have the perfect holes for lacing up shoes correctly. I use them for every day walking, the gym and work.

I have issues with both of my feetplantar fasciitis, heel pain, etc. My feet hurt frequently, These shoes have a roomy toe box and a great, stabilizing heel cup. I easily removed the NB insert and put in my customized orthotics. My feet do not hurt when I wear these shoes! YAY!

I was non-weight-bearing for 6 weeks before a surgical repair on my knee, and also for 6 weeks in a brace after surgery. When I started crutch-weaning, my foot was very weak and felt painfully sprained, the resurfacing of symptoms from an injury of long ago. I had lost my arches in that foot as well as a lot of strength despite exercising with a physical therapist throughout my period with the brace. I had NB shoes in the 600 series but I needed a sturdy walking shoe. The 990v5 Core fit the bill, providing good arch support, wide base for my weak balance, and less sole flexion. I will use these shoes for the remainder of my rehabilitation and afterwards for my new walking habit, and use the others when I am being more active.

These shoes are my favorite. I have worn nothing but new balance shoes since 1998. I am a nurse and I was wearing air max and an orthopedic surgeon ask me why I was wearing them and I told him they were comfortable and he said New Balance will allow you longevity of your feet and after a long day they will not be tired. That weekend I drove to the new balance store got fitted for the right shoe and the rest is history. New balance for life. Even purchase a parent for my mother and she loves them.

I'm a sneakerhead. My lady had burnt out adidas when we met. I laced her in the navy colorway 990v3. She loves the shoes! I got so many points with her for those sneakers. Thank you, New Balance!!!

I wore these shoes to Disney World and I had no issues with my feet hurting! I also spilled some juice on them and were concerned that the stain wouldn't come out but it came out after a light rain in Orlando. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for stylish and comfortable sneakers. I ordered my normal size and they fit perfectly.

I have Morton's Neuromas on both feet and require orthotics to correct it. Without good shoes and orthotics, I would be essentially lame. A good shoe for these orthotics means a firm base and an appropriate sized toe box. These offer the necessary combination of both. They have liners you can put the orthotics under and they give added comfort. I have tried so many shoes, including other New Balance. As "comfortable" as they might be, without the support the 990V5 gives, they simply don't work. Without these my lifestyle would be very sedentary. I purchase a new pair every six months as per my podiatrist's instructions.

With a knee issue, these are my regular walking, biking shoe. They stabilize, offer cushion, and come in solid colors. I hope they never stop making this shoe.

I use them for Walking and exercising. I have had several pairs of this model in the past and love them. I have plantar fasciitis and use my orthotics in the shoes. This combination works well for me.

I don't know why some are saying they wish the 990 came in more colors for women. I'm a woman and I LOVE these colors. It's very hard to find neutral colors in a good looking, well made, supportive, comfortable sneaker these days. The 990 line, BECAUSE of the colors are far more than just an athletic shoe. The neutral shades allow me to dress them up or down. I can wear them with nice outfits as a lifestyle shoe, or with casual outfits, or for exercise/walking/running. I never have to worry about whether they will blend or match with my clothes. They always do! One less thing to think about and one less thing to stress over. I am even surprised at how my Navy pair go with far more colors than I thought they would. I love these neutral color choices so much that I bought all 3. That way they don't wear out quickly and look good for years. And I do take good care of my investment -- wiping them off and spot cleaning after each use. This is a quality shoe -- supportive, comfortable and so good-looking. I hope New Balance stays with the neutral color pallet in the 990 line. The hues have a deep richness and beauty to them that, matched with their minimalist, subtle good looks just say CLASSY. Love them!!!

Everything about this shoe is perfect, except that the tongue could be a little longer. It tends to slide around and I have to keep pulling it back up. Other than that, most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Excellent support too.
