This is a solid, hiking shoe - but too wide for my feet. I emailed Oboz and found out that the Sawtooth is their widest shoe. The Bridger is somewhat narrower and they suggested that the Sapphire is cut slimmer for a woman's foot.

This is my 5th pair of these Oboz Sawtooth boots! I have been wearing them for 3 years and absolutely love them! They have been all over the back country and to Peru with me. They are good to go right out of the box. I have wide feet and arthritis on my right big toe and these give my feet room but not so much that they rub. They are secure and cozy on my feet. The heel is so supportive and very shock absorbing. I have tried Keens but I ended up with pain in my heels and achilles tendon, I get none of that with these. My legs wear out way before my feet do. I even wear these instead of tennis shoes for my power walks because they are so supportive. I had a hip replacement last year and these were what I recovered in and I have not used any other shoe since. I buy two at a time because I want to make sure I have them around in case they stop making them. I hope to God they don't stop this model of Oboz. They are simply the best!

I thought these shoes were great — at first. Just walking around town breaking them in, I had no problems. However, two days into my five day hiking trip, I began to feel a distinct pain in both second toes, and the toenail beds appeared bruised when I took my socks off. I showed my doctor, who told me that the toe box was too short and one of the toenails would probably fall off in a few weeks and sure enough, that’s happening. So if you have a second toe that’s even slightly longer than your big toe, choose another shoe. Otherwise these shoes were great. Sad to have to return them.

Great fit for my wide foot! No slop in the heel which I find with the wider shoes as they use a mans shoe last usually. I have a classic women’s athletic foot with a narrow heel and wide front. Finding shoes is a frustrating experience so I was very pleased to find this brand. If only more manufacturers took the active women in to consideration and produced nice looking comfortable dress shoes as well!

I ordered the silver grey and returned it for the Brindel which I liked better. This is my second Sawtooth but "low" for the summer . I love everything esp the comfort of these hiking shoes. If youve never owned a pair of hiking boots dont think they are clumsy or heavy they offer great support can be very comfortable for walking dogs or long hikes. I esp like them in the winter in Colorado walking our 4 dogs. Much better in slippery snowy weather and then on to summer days!

I love the Oboz Sawtooth style shoe. It is very stable and has a wide toe box. They are very comfortable. I wear orthotics in my shoes and there is no problem with your heel slipping out of the shoe. My only complaint would be the shoelaces which will not stay tied. Even a double knot eventually comes undone. I have to use a device on the laces to keep them from coming untied. Other than the laces, I love these comfortable shoes.

For six years I wore AHNU Montara, then with serious foot surgery I couldn't wear them - it wasn't the shoe, it's the foot. Removal of tibial sesamoid & major Morton's neuromas. 4 1/2 months later I tried Oboz & am amazed. The bottom feels like a hiking boot with a rigid foot pad, the heel doesn't ride/slip to irritate, the toe box is perfect in this wide 8 & the arch support is perfect for me. I can wear a wool sock & loosen the laces or an athletic cotton half sock & tighten the laces. I have no pain in these shoes. What a relief to get back out walking, this shoe made all the difference. Photo may follow.

I have an extremely difficult foot to fit because of large bunions, flat arches and narrow heels. My foot is low volume but I have to wear a wide to accommodate my bunions so usually the fit is sloppy. Not so with these. The arch support is great and my foot feels secure and there is plenty of width across the toes. They felt comfy right out of the box. I have the taller oboz hikers also and like them but these I love!

I really wanted to love these because they are a cute shoe, and I love Oboz but sadly they are awful. I wore the exact same shoe bought in 2018 in the same size until they literally wore off my feet, they were so comfortable. But this 2020 version are way too narrow for 9 1/2 B+. When I go hiking the first hour is great, the length is perfct but as my feet get more swollen the shoes beome intolerable. I have worn these now for two months and they are not breaking in at all! The main problem is the seams below my big toe just do not stretch and eventually put pressure on the bunion. The older version had more "give" in the laces at the toe box and I could adjust them as the day wore on. I wore these around my house for two weeks and they were great but then I took them out on the trail they did not sustain the comfort level. Not what I experienced with the last shoe. Ugh so much money wasted!

I bought these after reading a review about the wide toe box & that they take custom orthotics. There are only a few brands I can wear due to foot problems that require a wide toe box, deep foot bed, and neutral arch support. These checked all of those boxes. I also tried on a Keen Targhee III at a local outdoor outfitter store that I might keep instead, though. They also checked all the boxes but they also have more flexibility, a narrower heel and a lower toe spring that I think will ultimately work better with my feet.

I didn’t keep them just because I am trying to find a sneaker that I can hike and wear as a regular sneaker at the same time. But if you want a serious hiking shoes, these is the one. Excellent quality and support! I am sure these hiking shoes will last years.

I love these! They sorta rock you forward. They're as comfy as my tennishoes. I have serious back and ankle problems and these seemed to work well. I wear them on wet, cold or muddy days to walk my dog. Much lighter than expected. Nice quality.

These felt like they would be great hiking boots. Really deep treads, not too heavy, and good support. The toe box doesn't feel quite as roomy as keens or teva/ahnu, but they also didn't slide around on my heels. They felt comfortably snug, with a lot of contouring inside. I think they are just a little more shoe than I want for an upcoming trip, looking for a more versatile sneaker-type. I will keep these in mind if I ever need hiking shoes, though!

I liked these out of the box, and tried so hard to get them to work. They were firm over roots and rocks, but after 1-2 miles these just hurt my feet, under the ball of my foot I would just get excruciating pain. So sad!

These shoes hugged my feet the minute I slipped them on. I have issues with plantar fasciitis and right away I could feel the support in the arch.

I own a pair of these in a smaller size and decided to order a bigger size to try with heavier sock for colder weather, however this did not work out so I am returning them. I never reviewed the original pair which I love! these are especially great for the wider foot/forefoot.

I'm usually a three day break in girl - these didn't even need three minutes. They fit like they were made for me right out of the box...

I researched a LOT before selecting these. I never seem to be able to find the right combination of factors for shoes. I am not a heavy duty hiker, but typically do day hikes, one to three hours. These felt great out of the box, and I just did a short (4 mile) hike in very hilly, rocky terrain. They were so comfortable, gripped the surface - felt very stable and steady. I think they're going to grip really well in wet conditions, too. My hiking buddy loved the color and look. I thought they might be a bit heavy, but they feel great on my wide feet, and the stable footing provided is so worth it. Zappo's recommended a 1/2 size up - they are perfect so far. So excited to have given these a try!

I was looking for a new pair of hiking shoes that met the following criteria: 1. Low cut (my last pair were ankle high. They provided additional ankle support, but the downside was how heavy and clunky they always felt.) 2. waterproof 3. a sturdy pair of hiking shoes - i.e. not a fortified pair of sneakers and 4. not brown. I had never heard of Oboz until I saw them as a recommended brand by another Zappos reviewer. I decided to try them out and was really surprised. They definitely know their stuff and it shows in all the little details - loop at the back of the shoe to help take them off after a long day of hiking, incredibly supportive sole, great arch support, etc., While wearing them around the house to break them in, however, the left boot was fine. The right boot was pinching me in a lot of areas becoming increasingly uncomfortable throughout the day. As a result, I'm returning them, but I'll be buying them again when the wide width becomes available.
I also tried the Sapphire model from Oboz, but they definitely weren't sturdy enough.

Great support, good width in the tow box. I removed the insoles they came with and put mine in and they felt great. I have tried a couple of Merrell before and they were both too tight on the toe box.

This is a very serious hiking shoe. Has a solid heel/arch/forefoot support, like an orthotic! Made beautifully, but it was too firm for me. It is flexible, which is another great feature, but the bottom feels so firm with every step. Meant for serious hiking. The B width was too narrow, so I ordered the wide width (another site, Zappos didn't have this in in Wide at the time), but as much as it fits the foot's contours it's still too "heavy duty" for me.

These shoes are sturdy, yet lightweight, and I think would be awesome for hiking and climbing, as they are designed for. They are very comfortable and the fit is true-to-size, and there was ample room around the toes. However, I tried them on without socks, and I felt like if I wore them with more than a very thin sock, I would need a larger/wider shoe - an athletic sock would have made them just a little too tight. Full disclosure.... these are a great shoe, but I am returning them only because they weren't what I was looking for (I already have hiking shoes). I am taking a summer class in an industrial setting that requires closed-toed shoes, so a lightweight sneaker would be sufficient, but I'm having trouble finding great-fitting sneakers since Keen discontinued the Coronado. Most cute sneakers are cute on a smaller foot, but look more like skis on my size 10 feet! Converse, Keds, and PF Flyers are too narrow to be comfortable on me, and they enhance the ski effect! These Oboz looked great on my feet, and I will not hesitate to buy another pair of them if and when I need hikers.

Love these! I slipped it on and immediately felt like it was made for my feet. I had my heart set on a different style of Oboz because they were lighter and lower, but these felt so good on I can't give them up. My feet are fairly average but just different enougn that it's been hard to find a great fit. I have a slightly wide toe area, a slight narrow heel, with a medium arch. So glad I discovered Oboz as these fit as if it'd been tweaked in all the right places. I now have 3 pairs of hikers (Tall - Vasque Breeze; Medium - Oboz Sawtooth; and Low - Ahnu Sugerpine), and even though I haven't hiked in these yet I feel they will be great.
I also tried on Keens Targhee (in a smaller size), and while they fit well in the toe box my heels were swimming. The Keens are a tiny bit lighter at .8 lb instead of .9 lb for the Oboz, but the Oboz is much more supportive, and the lacing is higher up which hits the top of the foot at a more natural place. The tongue is soft and sits just right in its place. I also like that the styling is simple and very uncomplicated. It does look like a big shoe though, but I promise it doesn't feel that way. I am normally either 7 or 7.5, and for Oboz I would go with the larger.
