These shoes are lovely, very well made. We tried both the Chaco Odyssey and Outcross in a couple of different sizes. My granddaughter has a wide forefoot, but not wide enough to require a wide width shoe. I was unable to get her foot into any of these shoes. Even if I'd been able to get them on, I'm sure that she couldn't have managed the on/off process. I have a pair of Chacos that I love. However, even as an adult I find myself fiddling with the straps when I put them on. I think that Chaco should change their closure method for kids to velcro. I loved the way the shoes look and was sorry to have to return them. Thanks Zappos for your easy return policy.

I bought this shoe for my daughter as an alternative to an open toed sandal for summer. They fit her well and are a really well made shoe. I like that they have a wider toe box so her toes aren’t scrunched. Despite the wide toe box, these won’t work for kiddos with wide feet. The shoes are slip-in and there isn’t much give in the elastic to allow for wide feet. It takes a little effort for my daughter to put them on and she has a standard width foot. My daughter says they are very comfortable and has gotten no blisters since she started wearing them.

Within two weeks of receiving the product, both shoes (left and right) started coming unstitched in two places. Both shoes started coming unstitched in the exact same places on both shoes. My son had only worn the shoes a few times when this started to happen, and the fact that's it's happening to both shoes in the same place suggests this is a design or manufacturing issue. I normally love Chacos, but this model seems to be a lemon.

I read the other reviews about how hard it was to put on the shoes but my 4 yr old daughter slipped them right on with no problem all by herself. She immediately said "mommy these feel good!" So for us these shoes were great. Glad I took a chance against the reviews on this one. I usually never do that but they looked so comfortable and she walked for miles and miles at Disney with no issues at all. We even had the stroller and she just kept going and going and going. From the pic you can see that the ankle has room and it is spacious for her size 11 feet.

My son is ALL BOY. He runs through shoes faster than he eats breakfast. Ok, maybe not that fast, but you get the point. He also is SUPER picky and has flat feet that bother him when it's time to toss the Summer sandal Chacos on the shoe rack for the school year in exchange for closed toed tennis shoe type for school Gym days. Until we found these! He loves these shoes more than anything he has ever tried. Easy to get on and off and to loosen and tighten on his own. He wears socks with his shoes because he likes the way that feels, so being that we live in a State where he can get away with breathable shoes for the whole winter... he will live in these happily for the next 9 months. My daughter liked these, but found them heavy so she chose not to keep them. I really like the latch. So easy.

Seems like a quality chaco kids water shoe. We are using this as a portage shoe for canoe camping, we have used previous models in the past for our kids. The only concern is that the opening for the foot is small to create a good fit. Unfortunately the material doesn't seem to have very much stretch. It's a bit of a challenge for my 7 year old to get them on, but I hope it will stretch out with use. I would recommend them with reservations. Once they are on they are a great fit, and comfortable.

This shoe is incredibly difficult to put on. This may not be a problem for all kids, but for my daughters clammy little feet, it was a deal breaker. There's simply not enough stretch in the opening. They look great, and once on, the report is they're super comfortable.

These are really difficult to get on for my son.

I should have paid better attention to the reviews. The shoes themselves were plenty big but the opening is very small with very little stretch so nearly impossible to get on. There’s no way my 8year old son could get them on himself, and I was nearly kicked in the face trying to help my son pull on a shoe. We had to return.

After wearing then for only a week shoes started to smell badly. I washed them and it was better but only for my son to wear them for one day and smell was back. Small got worst after every time he wear them and I kept washing them Also it was hard to put on. Definitely not something I will be buying agin

I was surprised how badly shoos smelled after only couple of times having them on.My son has a skinny foot but it was so hard to put them on. so I had to cut them in order to feet. I do not recommend this shoe!

So hard to put on kids!!
