What in the actual world is going on with the tongue of these shoes? It's overly long, feels like it's made from cardboard and seems like it literally would slice into the front of your foot long before you had worn them enough to break it in and soften it up (if it ever did). For real... I can't imagine how it could be comfortable for anyone. See photo. It cuts into the front of your ankle and it's super stiff. I am a solid 39 (8 1/2/ US) in all European sized shoes I have bought, but had to size down to a 38 in these for length, but then found they were too narrow across the ball of my foot. The difficulty with the tongue was there in both the size 38 and 39. Super cute color combo and look (which is why 4 stars for style), but so many other issues! If you can wear these, more power to you. I will admire your cute Vejas while I shop for a different shoe.

Super disappointed with these shoes. They are very uncomfortable, as all other reviews state. The tongue is very long and can cause blisters because the material is super stiff. They look great though except when you wear them a little over a month they paint starts chipping/fading away. See photo attached. Would not recommend, too expensive for how cheap they feel. I bought these shoes less than two months ago and they are falling apart already.

I’m usually an 8 (39) had to return and get a 38. I own the same pair in white, which are way more comfortable. For some reason the black ones feel more stiff and the tongue is definitely stiff and digs into your skin. I’ve managed to move the tongue to the side until I break them in.

I usually wear an 8.5 but ordered an 8 based on reviews. For reference, I have narrow feet. This was the right choice and they fit well. The tongue is a little awkward and overall I think the price point should be lower on this shoe, but they’re very cute.

I am a true US 10 (medium width), wear a 41 in Golden Goose and just about every shoe out there, including my Superga sneakers, which are marked US 9.5, but are a size 41. Based on the reviews, I sized-down and ordered the Veja V-10 in a size 40, US 9. Big mistake! The length and heel cup offered plenty of room, but the toe box ran slender, rendering the sneaker very tight and uncomfortable. Thankfully, Zappos made exchanging the shoes very easy! I didn’t have the issue with the tongue cutting into my foot— the shoe softened very quickly after the first wear. Once I navigated sizing, I love my Veja V-10s. They are fashionable, retro-cool and will be around a long time.

These shoes are very cute however, very uncomfortable. Super stiff and the tongue hits in the worst place (it’s very long, stiff and thin) it’s just a piece of leather. I’m keeping them and hoping that they just keep getting better with time and use. I used a blow dryer to heat them up and keep bending them around. Hoping that helps break them in quicker.

I wear a US 6 and the 37 felt big, especially in the heel. Had to send them back because the tongue was so long it uncomfortably hit the front of my leg.

Absolutely adorable shoes! They are not the most comfortable but I added an insert for more arch support and heel cushion and that seemed to help. But looks alone - you cannot go wrong!

I am thrilled with these sneakers ans plan to get at least one more pair (or more). I can style these with anything, they are beautiful and versatile. I am an American sized 7.5 wide with the need for high arch support, so I needed to work a little to make these comfortable. I purchased the 38 European size, and placed high arch half-soles on top of the insoles already there. On the first 2 nights, I folded and rolled the extremely long tongue over the laces and held them that way with a large file clip. I wore them around the house for a day or so, and the tongue stayed away from my upper ankle well enough. I also recommend those "tongue pads" on Amazon, to create a soft barrier between the tongue and front ankle, until the tongue softens enough for you.

Love these! I was so afraid to buy them after reading all the reviews about how uncomfortable they are but had to try them for myself and so glad I did. I’m always a true size 7 and ordered a 37 and they fit perfectly. Plenty of length. I don’t have a narrow or wide foot and the width is fine for me, but you may want to beware if you have a wide foot. They fit me fine but I would say they are a bit narrow. Also, I don’t seem to be having a problem with the tongue. I see how it can be a bit aggravating but I’ve worn mine out and the tongue didn’t bother me. Otherwise I think they’re very comfortable to wear right out of the box. Would I want to go on a 10 mile walk in them? Probably not, but they’re perfect for normal every day wear. If the tongue bothers you, just move it to the side so it doesn’t dig into your ankle. If the tongue starts to bother me at any point that’s what I’ll do.

The shoes run large. I ordered a whole size down (37/6) from my normal size (usually between 7-7.5) and the fit was perfect. I was a little concerned from reading reviews that complained about how stiff and uncomfortable the shoes were, but I’ve broken in the shoes only after a few wears. I used to get blisters on my heels from Adidas grand courts but didn’t experience that with these. Just wear longer socks for the first week or so in these. I love the style of these and thrilled with my purchase!

I have wide feet in the toe box and these are great. I think they will continue to get more comfortable over time too. I had read reviews for Veja’s that said the tongue was very stiff and cut into your leg. These don’t do this. The tongue is soft and will soften more in time. I usually wear a 8.5...a 9 in running shoes, and I ordered these in an 8 and they are perfect. So my recommendation is if you are a half size, size down with these. Oh, and they are pretty.

Love them. Tongue on shoe is long but you can tuck it a bit in the shoe. Very comfortable and they look good! Went down 1/2 size for a perfect fit.

I was so confused about what size to buy. Some reviews said too big, some said too small. I measured my foot and looked up the sizing guide on Veja’s website. I ordered the recommended size and it’s perfect. These weren’t the most comfortable day 1, because I did feel like my foot got pinched/rubbed where the shoe creases when I walk. But day 2 they were great! I wear thick no show socks and they’re perfect.

I bought 2 pairs of Veja sneakers (Campo & V10). I found the Campo to be more comfortable initially of the 2. Love the design of both. I usually wear a 5.5. Debated between the 5 & 6. I got the 5 & it was still so big that I had to put insoles in them to make them smaller which was ok because I found both Veja styles to be flat with no cushioning. Overall, I love them aesthetically & made them work for size & comfort with insoles. Campo are more comfortable out of the box. I really love the style & look of the V10.

Love these shoes! I’m usually an 8.5 in shoes, 9 in running shoes but these size 8 are about 1/2 size too big. I put insoles in to help. Super cute though other than the size issue.

I normally wear a size 8, but had to size down to a 7 in these. To me, they run a full size larger. Unlike others, I had absolutely no issues with the tongue causing discomfort. They were comfortable right from first wear. They are so cute and go with everything! So happy I got them!

They list these shoes as US 6 / 37. (An EU37 is actually a US 6.5/7) That being said, I am always a US 6.5-7 and I bought the 6/37. So I would suggest following the EU sizing on these. These shoes are not very comfortable on the bottoms. But since I always use a thin insert, (suggest Dr. Scholl’s air pillow $2 ones that you cut to size) they are perfect. The quality and style of these sneakers are A+ otherwise.

Love these! I prefer them to the esplar model I had previously. These feel more solid and required zero break in time. They have a removable insole, I wear them with my orthotics. Also, I love the more retro look, highly recommend!

I love these shoes! They are definitely a splurge but make me feel stylish and unique. A few notes: there is definitely a break-in period and they are not super comfortable right away. The tongue and back of the ankle are pretty stiff and it's best to wear socks for the first few weeks because it did rub against my foot initially. I've had them for over a month and worn them pretty frequently and they feel great now. FYI on sizing: In US sizes I'm anywhere between 7 and 8, always an 8 in Nike and a Men's 5 in Converse, and 7.5 in most dress shoes. In general European sized shoes fit strangely on me, I'm between a 37 and 38, but the 38 here fits pretty well.
