First, let's just get this out of the way....Zappos is amazing. I got these delivered about 26 hours after I placed the order. How cool is that? Customer satisfaction is a priority with this company, so buy with confidence. Now on to the shoes...these fit true to size. I am a 10.5 in everything except running shoes. I have a wide foot - not crazy wide - but most running shoes are way too tight on me in a 10.5. I wear Ultra Boosts, and with those, I have to be a 11.0, and even then they are snug. These are cut way different than the UBs. I have more room in the toebox with these in a 10.5 than what I have in the UB's in an 11.0. I tend to like a wider shoe, and these fit perfect. Some people say they run wide, and that might be true, but it's perfect for me. It doesn't fit too wide. If you like your shoes really snug, I would suggest going down half a size, and you would still be comfortable due to the Prime Knit upper. It's super stretchy. They are a true hiking shoe. I call it an urban hiker because you really wouldn't want to wear these as work boots, or for slogging around in the mud. They are way too nice for that. They are way more stable than the Ultra Boost. Just cut a little wider, and it doesn't feel like you would turn your ankle in these. They have extra cushioning in the ankle that you can't even see, but you can really feel it. They lock you in. No heel slippage what-so-ever. The boost is also exceptionally comfortable. They are not quite a squishy as the Ultra Boost, but you can still feel the boost for sure. The outsole is lugged and is a little thicker than the UB's, so that takes a little bit of the squish out. They are a little bit tight around the top of the ankle, right where the shoe begins, where you put your foot in, but I'm hoping that stretches out over time. I think adidas calls this a hiking shoe, and I would consider it a hiking sneaker more than a hiking boot. Way more rugged than the Ultra Boost, more stable, and every bit as comfortable. Super light-weight. I have a few pairs of Timberland hikers, and those are way heavier, and way more boot-oriented. The adidas Terrex Free's are more sneaker-oriented. Anybody considering this shoe should really give it a shot. And if you buy from Zappos...don't even sweat it. If you don't like them....which I can't imagine why you wouldn't....but if you don't like 'em, just send 'em back. That's the beauty of Zappos.

Definitely runs about a half a size bigger. Since this is a men’s shoe, I am a women’s 8 and the 6 is perfect. The quality is great and the comfort is excellent.

Hate these things. The tight elastic collar make them almost impossible to get into & out of. Finally forced them on & found they are totally flexible , giving no support to foot or ankles. Worthless...

First off, I'm always impressed with Zappos' prompt delivery! Thanks Zappos!
I own three pairs of Free Hikers (2 regular and one GTX version). I love how they feel on my feet, like wearing padded socks with great traction. I primarily use them for hiking and working. The shoes are light, stretchy and padded at the right places when you lace them up.
I also highly recommend the GTX FH if you want to keep your feet dry and protected from the weather.

First things first: go half a size down. I'm a 9 in Adidas originals and boost, nike, danner, new balance etc. Got the 8.5 and they are the right call. If unsure try on at a store. Mine fit tight but not uncomfortable, gripped by the material. Some reviews talk about sore toes downhill, not for me, but downsizing meant my big toe was right at the end. Not pinched, but under the toe cap.
Performance wise, very nice in dry conditions (just used them in Joshua Tree), but not what I'd wear when I'm expecting serious wet or cold (live in Hudson Valley).
Wish they'd color the boost, but overall a nice modern technical outdoor high top. Not as tough as some, but the fit and finish are solid.

I bought these hiking sneakers for my husband. He LOVES them. They're not only aesthetically pleasing, but they're functional, too. We go "hiking" with our toddler so he needed a hiking shoe but not something a "real" hiking shoe he'd only wear a few times a year. These are perfect for wearing to the park on cold, wet mornings and "hiking"/cashing a toddler around national parks. He wears a size 9 and they're fit perfectly. Definitely would recommend these.

Ordered a half size smaller but returned for my normal size. Ended up being the right amount of space for a hiking boot in the toe box. Could have probably gone either way but that was my preference. Perfect casual shoe in the city or day hiking shoe in the summer. Very comfortable and stylish.

Just wanted to say these run a half size large. I normally wear a 11.5 and had to size down half a size, which is weird because the Terrex Two Parley (basically the low top version of these) are 100% true to size.

Unlike a lot of other reviewers I don't think these run large. Maybe they run large for Adidas, but I actually ordered a half size down because of all those comments and they were too small. Ended up ordering the exact size I wear in all other sneakers/running shoes -- Asics, Mizuno, Pearl Izumi to name a few (they are a half size smaller than my Vans, but Vans have always been a weird size/fit on me). All my sneakers are true to my brannock size and a whole size larger than most of my leather boots (Red Wing, White's, Frye etc.)
Comfort wise these are unlike any other hiking shoe/boot I've ever worn. The sock-like Prime Knit upper hugs your foot so it's hard to judge whether these run narrow or wide. They just mold to your feet. Inside the heel cup are two thick pads each side of your achilles that really lock in the heel without any pressure spots. I'm not sure how breathable they will be come summer. I'm assuming (hoping) they'll be pretty good, although the knit face fabric is backed with a fairly thick orange-colored elastic fabric that makes the overall fabric construction feel pretty dense. There's no obvious breeze I can feel when walking and they're certainly not as breezy as most of my running shoes. The lugged sole is super grippy and the boost midsole is super cushy, as to be expected.

Definitely run 1/2 a size large. I’m a 12 in other ultra boosts but 11.5 with these.

Love the look of these shoes and they are very well made. Color is great and so comfortable. I usually wear a 10.5 but order a 10 and they fit perfect.

It was a rainy and muddy day and so descending and ascending around 100 meters was challenging enough. I'm glad my partner got these for me for Christmas as it kept my feet dry and the grip is excellent.
