These are not wide calf. If you have wide calves, these will be tight! Try the short Hunter boots, just as cute and plenty of room. While these are super cute, they just don't work. I could get them on, but they were so tight it was uncomfortable and looked funny!

GREAT BOOTS! First of all I am short, I am only 5'3" and these boots fit me nicely, height-wise. Ok on to my calves; they measure 15.5" and with these boots I actually will have enough room to wear jeans with them, and still have room left and they are NOT weirdly wide!! SO excited for that come this fall. I also occasionally battle plantar fasciitis, that said soft shoes hurt my feet. These have more support, and are less "squishy" than other popular name-brand rubber boots I have tried. Because of that they do not hurt my feet! Of course these are still a rubber boot, so don't misunderstand and think these are suitable for hiking. ;-) I ordered them in blue and am superbly happy with both the finish and the color. *Side note I am a ladies size 7 in sandals, and 7.5 in close-toed shoes. I ordered these bioots in a 7 and they fit perfectly. An 8 would have been too big.

Finally a pair of Hunter boots for my 16.5 in calves. I’ve tried both the Huntress and the adjustable back ones and never liked either one. The huntress has a terrible silhouette and the adjustable back ones were way too tight. These are nice and tall like the originals but they actually fit my wide calves. For reference I ordered a size 8 and my calves measure about 16.5 inches at their widest part.

These are NOT wide calf despite them saying they are. My calves are 15.5 inches and I couldn't hardly get these up. They were so tight around the calf they looked ridiculous and felt awful. More like wide ankle because my ankle and foot were swimming in this boot. Definitely don't buy these online first, go to a store try them on then come back here to buy.

These boots are about 1-2" shorter than the Hunter tall boots. The wider shaft is great if you want to wear them over your pants or be able to kick them off easily. Unfortunately wider calf also means wider ankle, so for me that made it impossible to walk more than a few feet without feeling like the boot would fly off. I tried a size smaller and they were likewise too wide.

I have no idea what people are talking about in regards to claiming these aren’t wide calf and not true to size. I am a solid 10 and the 10 fits perfect. I have big calves (16.5”) and they fit perfectly. I can’t shove thick jeans in there, but tight jeans fit. I wear these almost everyday. They make me feel fancy, even when I’m out working on our property. They have excellent traction, too! They are exactly what I wanted and would buy again in a heartbeat.

I ordered both these and the Hunter adjustable back rain boot to see which one I would like better. I ended up keeping these. I have 16.5-17 inch calves and these fit snugly but not tight. The ankle unfortunately is also pretty wide so it looks almost a little baggy, but they stay up fine since the top is snug to my leg. I love the buckle detail. The adjustable fit was sleeker on the ankle and the calf also fit, but the material bunched up in the back and I really didn’t like how it looked. My perfect boot would be a combination of the 2, but in the end I liked the look of these better. I normally wear anywhere from a 9-10 and a 9 fits good.

Too big, and like so many shoe makesr, Hunter doesn’t do half sizes above size 10. Apparently there is no variation in tall women... we’re just ‘oversized’

I have always worn a 9 (and most of the time still do), but my feet had so much room in the 9 for these boots! Since they don't come in half sizes, I went with the 8 and will still be able to wear with thick socks and jeans! I like these a lot more than the older Huntress wide-calf boots because they are tall like the Hunter original that I cannot wear with my wide calfs. I do think that there is more ankle room than there should be, but I did find that sizing down to an 8 eliminated the problem of them feeling like they would come off as I walked!

I originally ordered the wide calf boot which was WAY to big! I have athletic legs so I assumed I’d require a wider fit but the regular fit is perfect! We have 6 acres that I’m always out working on and these boots have been great! No worries about water or snakes anymore!

I am typically a size 9 in most shoes. The 8 in these boots was perfect with room for thick socks. My calves are 16" at their widest point. I ordered the Original Tall version and this Wide Leg version. The Original was very tight around the top of my calf with no room for boot socks! The wide have room to spare around my calf. I'm glad Hunter makes a wide calf version!

These are so prefect! I have the short boots because I live in warmer climate but am moving back north so I wanted a good fall boot. I got the wide leg because normal tall boots are little tight on my calf and these were absolutely perfect! I ordered my usual size 6 and they’re a little roomy back I usually wear fuzzy socks with boots anyways so I like the extra room. Worth the price!

These are great to wear in the rain but I have to take other shoes with me if I’m driving. Could be that I went a size too big. Overall great product!

I have been blessed with calves and it is hard to find boots that fit right. These are great. Not too wide and enough room for pant legs and the fleece liner. I will say though - get the sherpa insole or the liners - they are cold otherwise

I suggest if you are a half size that you size down in these boots. I also added the Hunter shearling innersoles which added even more comfort to the boots. The boots are just a little wide just below the knee but fit great in the calf. I am looking forward to wearing them in the rain.

I love these boots in the wider leg as most Hunter boots are too tight over my calf and hard to get on and off. Thank you Hunter for making a wider leg for people that have small feet but a bigger calf! (I was runner so that says it all for a wider calf). I also put my own foot inserts (UGG footbed inserts) in to make it way more comfortable and soft! I actually put these inserts in all my boots not only are they more comfortable but there is more support in the boot!

I sized down in these. Normally an 8.5 in most shoes, but ordered an 8. The regular Hunter's fit, but I prefer the extra width for comfort.

These are beautiful boots. However, the extra wide calf isn't accurate. Just make sure you measure your calf before purchasing. I don't have really large calves but I like tucking my jeans into my boots. I couldn't even get these boots pulled all the way up with just my bare legs going in them, much less jeans or leggings.

Needed wide calf and it fits great. Along with the wide calf comes a wide ankle, takes a little getting used to but overall I love the boots! Zappos is the only place I will order shoes online. Love the free shipping and returns.

Easy to get on an off, and the strap makes it adjustable. Good quality wellies!

I received a box that stated the boots had a wide calf. However, the boots were NOT wide calf’s and they were actually the regular tall boots (per the info inside boots).

I have large calves. The wide calf was a tad too small. The adjustable hunters fit better.

I have wide calves and this did NOT work for me. I went with the short hunter boots instead.

These are my gardening boots! I hate snakes and I felt secure in these tall boots while walking in grass and garden. Fit perfect, easy clean and calf definitely large enough even with jeans on, there is room to spare!
