These boots hit the ground running. They were comfortable from the very beginning. The insole first my arch in exactly the right spot and has just enough cushion for a comfortable walk. There are two things that I wish I had noticed though. There is not a back loop to help pull on the boots. I have to pull the laces out in order to get the boot on. The other thing is the round laces. While these may look good, round laces, in my experience, do not stay tied as well as flat ones. Overall these are great boots. The problems I have found are personal preferences.

I'd give five starts but haven't had them more than a week. Wore them on a five mile walk and a two mile hike. They are very comfortable and I felt sure footed walking on rocky terrain.

I ordered my true size and had a pinch on my larger foot with thin wool hiking socks. I would recommend getting a half size larger. I am exchanging because they otherwise felt really comfortable. Much lighter than my Salamons. Looking forward to getting them on the trail!

Great shoe, went hiking right away and no problems, kept my feet dry, felt stable going up and down hills.

After getting the right size, (a half size smaller than expected,) I did some 5-10 mile hikes in Northern CA. The thicker, padded sole is good through rocks and streams. I wouldn't want anything thinner. I appreciated the ankle support too, as I usually hike in trail sneakers. The footbed felt like a man's shoe, though, wide without much shape to it. I like the Q2 footbeds but the toes are narrower and the soles thinner. I'll keep using this boot but may try putting some archups under the insole. I have some knee trouble and this boot did not aggravate it.

Nice looking boot. Roomy toe box, narrow heel, perfect for my AA feet. I ordered 11's, my usual size in Merrells, & it is too long, am returning them & got 10.5 in the nylon/suede model, which are correct length.

I absolutely love these boots. I didn't realize that I could hike all day and my feet not hurt. I've had these boots about a month- wearing them everyday as a field biologist. They were great at keeping my feet dry at first until the other day some thorns scratch the leather just a bit and now if I walk through too much dewy grass at once my feet are soaked. They can still withstand getting a little wet and are super comfortable, so I'll still be wearing them.

I was so happy when I bought this style of shoe (in a different color combination). Comfortable straight out of the box and so light! I'd give it five stars for all that, however after wearing these regularly (3-4 times week) over the past 3 months in cooler weather the sole has begun to wear out and lose its tread. If these are $$ hiking boots - this should not happen. I've had cheaper pairs of Tevas and Adidas last longer. I don't want to throw these shoes away, but not sure what can be done about the sole now.

These are just OK boots. They are comfortable but not the most rugged. They don't have a pull tab on the back which I found odd... They are also NOT waterproof. They will do fine for shorter, non-technical trail hikes, but I wouldn't take them on extensive backcountry adventures.

I love the style of these and they have great traction, but I think the tongues of the boot are so thick that they irritate my ankle. I wore them for a 5 mile excursion and my ankles were bruised and swollen. I had high socks on as well. Maybe I need to lace the shoes differently? I really want to love them.

These fit pretty comfy out of the box however, for the price listed I do not think they are worth it. The material is quite thin and flimsy and to get the foot hugging sensation, you have to lace up the boot extremey tight. After tightening, the lace loops are soooo long because of how tight you need to make them in order to have a supportive boot. They also run a tad big if you are wearing a thinner sock. If wearing a proper thick hiking sock, they fit true to size. I wish I could return after hiking with them and try a different model with a more secure fit.

I like the looks and fit of the boot. It's light and comfortable. This boot is, however, not waterproof. I have worn them just a few times since purchasing them in the fall. I live in Michigan so it is likely either raining/ wet or snowy this time of year. The last time I walked in them on a snowy trail my feet were very wet by the end of the 2-3 mile hike. I am disappointed as I hoped they would last me for several years.

I purchased this in size 7.5 at first, definitely too narrow. Returned for a size 8. They seemed good at first but after walking around the park for 30 min, my pinky toes went numb I'm pretty disappointed. Looks are great, but I cannot see wearing these for extended periods of time. First time purchasing merrells.

Got these as a Christmas present. Didn't wear them until I started my new outdoor job a few months ago. The blue netting has started to tear along the crease, and I can no longer where them until I get it patched. Really disappointed, as I've had several Merrells in the past that have lasted me years. Everything else about them was perfect.

I'm giving one star because the boots are cute and were warm during the one hike I took them on. However there is a sharp ridge along the inner ankle seam of the left boot that started to be excessively prominent on my first hike. I thought maybe they just needed to be broken in, but most of the reviews said no break-in necessary. Now every time I go to put them on, the sharp spot is so irritating after 1 min of walking in the house that I just take them off. I can't return because they have been worn once, and I'm pretty sure I also can't return due to this "comfort issue". I usually love Merrell boots, but I'm just irritated to have wasted my money for boots I'll never wear again.

After doing several months worth of research on line and talking with customer service and explaining what I was looking for in a boot. Which was using all year in the snow....rain....etc....it was suggested to me these boots. I saw they had a 5 star rating. All leather and metal eyelets. I really thought these would work. Sadly I couldn't be more wrong! They never really felt quite right and I called and it was suggested I try a little longer which I have well sadly needless to say no different. These were rather expensive to not be 100 percent pleased and happy with. I've never owned Merrell Boots personally however have heard ALOT regarding them so thought I would try. Needless to say NOT a good first impression. I have owned other hiking boots in another brand and was happy as soon as I put them on. Sadly NOT happy! This is one of the MANY reasons why I don't do things online.
