I got these boots to wear in my long work shifts in rugged terrain. They did not disappoint! I was in rain, puddles, and mud for 11 hours and my socks stayed dry the whole time! Not one drop leaked through! I highly recommend these if you are looking for a good hiking boot that are waterproof!

This is my second season with these boots, and they're holding up really well. As other reviews have noted, they are heavy, but I've always had dry feet and they're super comfy.

They fit perfectly. They were comfortable right out of the box. I want ankle support and these do that. I walk rugged terrain every day and the soles have excellent traction. I couldn't be more satisfied.

So far, I have only hiked up Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain, GA! The Phaserbound 2 Tall boots were very comfortable and provided great stability. It is a very short hike, but my feet felt great afterwards!

Really beautiful boots. But too big for me. Returned them. I am truly sorry they didn't work. Of all the boots I've tried, Merrell's always fit the best. These were a real outlier in that regard.

I ordered leather because I do a fair amount of hiking in rattlesnake country in the Idaho wilderness. However, I was somewhat apprehensive about the comfort of leather because I have a bunion and my experience is that a mesh boot is more comfortable because it is stretchier. But, there has been very little break-in time - I wore them in the house for a couple of days then went on a 2-1/2 mile hike with no blisters or sore spots! The toe box is just the right width to accommodate my bunion comfortably. I am now confident that I can increase the mileage of my hikes with these boots without problems. The review by Paleophile was very helpful In that I was able to order a pair of boots only once and not have to go through the trouble and time of ordering two pairs before finally settling on one.

I bought these last summer for the TMB trail. I only had a few weeks to break in before my trip and had no issues - comfortable, no blisters, perfect! They kept my feet dry which was my biggest worry. Lots of incline/decline, no foot movement inside the boot, true to size for me. 108 miles without an issue!! Highly recommend for longer hikes or rocky terrain.

I never order shoes online. I have the worst luck with finding shoes that fit in brick and mortar stores, so ordering online is more problematic. That said, I ordered these boots for a hiking trip I'll be going on soon. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 in shoes, as I have short, wider-than-average feet and long toes. I also have weak ankles and plantar fasciitis. That means I need a high top boot that is comfortable, not too long, and not too tight. I've read to go up a size in boots, especially if wearing thicker sovks. I was also worried about the boots being too narrow, so I ordered a size 8, to start. They were too big, even with really thick socks, so I exchanged them for a 7.5. Still, my heel slid up and down in the boot. I exchanged them for a size 7. FINALLY! They are so comfy with my thick socks! I love the ankle support, and, miraculously, the strings do not need to always be double-tied, as they don't rub my pant leg and untie themselves or loosen. My foot also sits perfectly in the boot, and the arch support doesn't hit me in the wrong place, or hurt in any way. I haven't had a pair of shoes that haven't required orthopedic insoles in years, but these boots are perfect and don't need the insoles replaced. I love these boots! Merrell Customer Service was always courteous, always helpful, and very patient with me, and my exchanges. I will recommend these boots, and Merrell, to my hiking partners and anyone else who will listen! Top-notch!

I purchased these boots in April and I've used them weekly for hikes around my area from easy to hard trails. They have held up very well and are very comfortable. They fit great, my feet do not slip inside them. Very happy with my purchase!

If you are looking for a really sturdy supportive boot, this is the boot for you! It is pretty heavy -- but it is a tank for support, and sticks to the granite boulders here in New Hampshire really well. Highly recommend this boot if you are needing good solid support for your ankles and arches.

They're Merrell so you already know they'll be functional and the skin on your feet will be protected with good socks. Buy these a half size smaller than your normal size and remember they're not trail runners-- they're pretty heavy. They do get you through water nice and dry up to the top of the boot, so navigating boggy fishing spots is no problem! On a different note, this unlikely hiker deal you're advertising is doing more harm than good for your brand I think (I'm fat so I guess you might call me an unlikely hiker too, but I'm not---I hike every single weekend). Stick to the facts-- you're a research based boot company.

This is a great boot! Supports your ankle very well. Very waterproof and breathable. A little heavy but I am also not used to wearing boots. The latest stay tied very well without even needing to double knot them!

Just received these boots, so I have yet to put them to the test. Initial impressions are that they fit, they're comfortable, and they have great ankle support. They are however, a totally different color than the color depicted in the image online. They're not brown at all in person, but rather a grey color. Not what I was expecting. Overall, I'm slightly disappointed as I was expecting something different. It would be helpful if Merrell added a photo feature so that the product has a more accurate depiction of what their products look like. Otherwise, I expect that they will work great for my needs. And customer service was very helpful and understanding.

I purchased these for a trip we are taking to hike the Cotswolds in England. They fit great and feel good. I hiked this weekend in them on wet rocks and roots. I slipped on wet roots last fall and sprained my ankle so these were very welcome. I didn't slip once!
