I bought the Hydro Mocs at the end of last summer and found them to be comfortable, stylish, and durable. However, I'm unsure about their ability to withstand water, particularly salty seawater. In the past, I've worn water shoes in salty water, and they've fallen apart. Also, I gave the Moc's three stars because they tend to be larger in size, and I had to wear ankle socks to prevent hair plucking, which can be painful. I recommend ordering a smaller size unless you prefer a loose fit. However, despite the loose fit, they do not fall off. Overall, the Hydro Mocs are a great start for Merrell, but there's still room for improvement.

Ok. Not exceptional.... but not unhappy either....

Lightweight and sturdy, however during my first walk i had a bruise ffrom friction. Perhaps i will try anothrr size.

Love the color. They do run a bit narrow. I'm also not sure that the advice to order the lower full size if you wear a half-size shoe is correct.

Love them with the exception of the heel piece. I bought these for the beach over a year ago but they rubbed badly on my heel/upper ankle. I cut the flap over the heel off and have been wearing them ever since. They are great, but I should not have had to chop them to avoid blisters.

I have bought two pairs of these moc's and on both pair the grommet that holds the strap has broken. Now I would be more understanding if it were at the same place but it's not each one broke at a different location...one on the outside right foot the other on the outside left...the shoes are comfortable and I do like them but this strap breakage is a huge problem. It's to late to return them since I guess I will have to Jimmy rig them until they wear out ...very disappointing I am not accustomed to Merrell selling inferior products!!! Very Disappointing!!!!

These just didn't love my feet. Too narrow and not available in a wide.

they fit me very well but what disappoints me is that they are not exactly like the presentation (photo) the ones I received the blue color is too predominant it's just if I have yellow and orange. Disappointing.

If these had a rubber outsole, they would never not sell out. If they had a rubber outsole, they would consummately dominate the footwear market. If these had a rubber outsole, every person in the outdoor community would own a pair. If these had a rubber outsole, I would buy 40 pairs... But they don't. Merrell, if you're listening, add a rubber outsole to these and watch all of the above come true. Thank you.

I like them but they definitely hold on to water and sand. The holes they have in them aren't quite low enough to let it all out once it gets in.

They seem to chafe the back of my ankles. Otherwise, they are adequate.

After reading the review of the shoe being on the larger side I was disappointed when it was actually too small. There was only a half stuck sticker indicating the size so was not sure if I received the right one. Also, not too good for people with high arches as I could barely get my foot in. Again, may not have been the right mens size. Was looking forward to this Moc. Will have to wait till they come out again for next season to try on in a store.

Love the look but there are no holes near the toes so if you get any sand or rocks inside you can't kick them out and you have to take off your shoes to empty. You also aren't able to slip them on as easily as crocs.

Bought a pair last year and actually had to go down 2 sizes and still can go another size smaller. Fit great, very comfortable. Easy to get on and off. Loved them so much I ordered another pair recently. Bought the same size as the ones I haf and a pair a size smaller. Length is consistant but width on the new shoes is so tight I can barely get them on.

Fit great and are very comfortable, but wear quickly and the sole is rather thin. Needs to come up with a sole that will actually last.

They are cool and comfortable but there is no grip on the inside of the shoe so your foot slides inside the shoe

Comfortable and fun water shoes, suck on the beach tho as they get filled with sand immediately

Not much cushion, feels like I'm walking with concrete boots

Purchased a set of these a week ago. I sized down one size from my normal shoe size per advice of others on the internet and they fit me perfect! Pros: -this shoe is REALLY comfortable. They have a generous amount of arch support and heel support than crocs even when not in "sport mode", which make them much easier to walk in compared to similar products -no low down vent holes like crocs so dirt and sand doesn't get in as easy while you are walking -Sport mode feels REALLY secure, so much so I am comfortable doing more athletic things in these shoes, light running, casual games on the beach etc... Cons; -lack of texture on the inside of the shoe leads to a lack of grip when the insides get wet. it feels like i'm sliding around in there even though its a snug fit, and it has led to me losing my balance and falling down while coming out of water. MERRELL PLEASE make a version with texture or stippling on the inside the shoe for improved grip!!! -while the lack of scupper holes low to the ground is nice for keeping dirt out, if water gets in the shoe, it doesn't have anywhere drain naturally so you just end up walking around with a quarter cup of water in each shoe, compounded with the previously mentioned lack of grip inside the shoe when wet is a serious design flaw. -it is somewhat difficult to get into the shoe while in "sport mode", however, once you get in, your feet are quite secure. Overall, happy with the purchase, but I would like to see a version with improved water drainage, and increased grip texture inside the shoe

These could have been great, unfortunately the fit wasn't great for me. I ended up getting blisters on one heel. I didn't know until I wore them so they couldn't be returned. If they fit better they would have been okay.

Not a good water shoe. Retains water. Needs drain holes in bottom or even with bottom

I really love my old pair. Squishy yet support. This new pair is not as soft. Also the shoe is shorter. Very disappointing.
