I really want to love these pants. I have a Ferrosi hoodie that I am very happy with, and I find OR jackets fit true to size and in a way I like for layering in the mountains. The material is wonderful, light, breathable and looks good. I find the length of the Ferrosi pants right and the cut generous, but not too baggy. I have a very slim build so this makes some sense. In the waist however they are simply not the size they are labelled. I bought a 30x30" and the waist is far too big. I am a small guy, I have a 29" waist and so I'm used to a little room when I have to buy a 30. The Ferrosi 30's are closer to a 32", and that's not just my feeling, I measured them with a sewing tape - there is conservatively 31.5" of material in the waistband. This is not the end of the world, I can either always wear a belt, or have them taken in, but it is disappointing to have a large discrepancy. If they fit properly they would be approaching 5 stars.

I'm 5'7, and in good shape. These pants are amazing, except they are extremely tight on the groin area, which also sits to high for me.

Really lightweight, thin material. Good fit for a tall skinny guy like me. Took them bushwhacking through willows and now they are extrememly pilled and unsightly. :( I liked them until then!

I'll start by saying I bought these pants exclusively to climb in. I would really love to love them, but I can't. They breathe great, they're light, they don't constrict movement in the slightest, and they have nice ankle draws to keep your feet clear while you climb. They feel like pajama pants. The pockets are a nice size, and they have the standard outdoor bottoms thigh pocket. However, the thin material that makes them so light and breathable is just too thin. They began to pill on both legs after the first wash. I've taken a couple trips to Vedauwoo Wyoming for crack climbing and I just don't think these pants would cut it. I'm certain I'd rip them open trying to shove my feet and legs into a crack. These are fine for sport climbing outdoors, and great for gym climbing, but I wouldn't wear them for crack or trad climbing. The search for my perfect pair of climbing pants continues.

I bought these just before a trip to hike to see several large waterfalls. They were the perfect pant for comfort and functionality. I wish I got a smaller waist size - the sizing chart seems a bit off.

I'm 5'11 and 165 lbs. Reasonably fit but at 43 yrs old definitely have hints of Dad bod approaching. I wear 32x32 in just about every brand of pants and these just felt huge. I had about 2 extra inches in the waist and I had to roll up the bottom 3 times to not drag on the ground. Like 90s skateboarder relaxed fit Dad jeans huge. The material was super soft and pretty awesome. Way lighter weight than I expected from the description of an all weather pant. Maybe the fit is so that you can wear them on top of snow pants? I understand how so many people can love these pants, I just recommend trying a pair on before you commit.

Comfortable pants for casual use. However they are very thin so I would be hesitant to take them on backcountry trips for fear they would not be durable enough. That being said, for casual use or leisurely walks these are great pants. I found them to fit quite long for a 31 inseam, but nothing a quick roll up of the heel doesn't fix.

So OR fixed the bizarre sizing on these great fabric pants. They also added longer lengths - great. But then they got rid of any way to secure at least one of the rear pockets. The lack of a secure rear pocket is a 100% deal breaker. What an unfortunate design choice.

These pants fit, feel, and look great. They just don't hold up. Don't expect to get more than 20 trail miles in them before the fabric pills up, ribs, or generally thins and looks worn out. They might work better for casual around town use.

5'8" 160#. I carry my weight in my thighs and butt. These pants fit like a large 33 in the waist and legs. I like to wear my pants more slim/fitted and these didn't look like what you see in the photos. Re-ordered one size down. Will update with my findings.

I originally bought the Ferrosi pants at size 30. I am six-foot, 165, athletic. They were wayyy long on me and really big around the waist. I ordered these Ferrosi pants (short) at size 28. The length is better, ends right at my shoe, which I like, but now the waist is really small. I love the pants but the sizing is pretty odd, and not something I've had to deal with in other OR products. I'll make them stretch, I guess, but it's worth getting sizing consistent, if it can get that way, these are the best hiking pants around.

First wearing trying out these pants and while they feel comfortable, I was shocked to see the riveted button fall to the floor when I went to get changed. It should either be a button or better yet it should have reinforcement in between the fabric as I now have a perfect little hole in my new pants.

Unfortunately after less than 3 days of use, I noticed threads in the crotch area starting to fray, and I will have to sew them. They are very comfortable, however, for the price, I expect higher quality and more durability's

Great fit and love stretch fabric from incorporating Spandex, which provides great flexibility. Love the front spring loaded zipper. Great there are two, large and deep rear pockets, however, they are not secure, either with zippers or velcro, making them less useful (put the same spring-loaded zippers on the rear pockets and you have a winner).

I like how the cuff drawstrings were removed but do not like that the rear pocket zippers were also removed. I will not be buying another pair with out the rear zippers. Other than that I have multiple pairs of the older version and wish I had a pair for every day.

These have been my favorite spring, summer and fall years for years. Adding uneven waist sizes is really nice because I need a 31, but WHY DID YOU CHANGE the side pocket. This one doesn't look deep enough to hold anything but any old flip-phone. The old vertical zipper pocket was big enough for my Samsung S5 and my minimalist wallet. And what happened to the Cairn color? You're shooting yourselves in the foot here.

Do not wash these in hot water! I loved the older design for Ferrosi but alas.... the vertical leg pocket has been discarded... just like the rear pocket zippers. I would not recommend the new design - but if you can find me a pair with the vertical side pocket I'll buy them!!

Unlike the previous version, this update of the Ferrosi lacks zippers on the rear pockets, which is major drawback for travelers and crowded city navigators. Also, I prefer the right thigh zippered stash pocket on the side seam (like the previous Ferrosi) and not on the front of the right pants leg. On the plus side, the front and rear pockets are actually functional compared to the token, decorative pockets on the Voodoo pants, which are too small and shallow to be of any use.

The first generation of these pants were my absolute favorite. Unfortunately I don't like the updates and the rear pocket zippers are now gone. I won't be buying these again.

I'm 6'2, 180lbs so I ordered the 32" waist but had to return them. These are way to short, not at all built for the tall athletic build. I would recommend making a regular and a tall version of all OR pants to accommodate a wider range of people.

Bought these for Summertime front and backcountry use. Found them comfortable and the fabric quite stretchy. They fold down small and stuff in a pack nicely. Have not tested for toughness while bushwacking. I bought online so did not discover until receipt that waist size (34) is too large (bigger than normal size tolerances) to stay up without a belt. Length is too short to fit my long inseam, a size long would be appropriate. I roll them up to 3/4 length. Front pocket openings are horizontal and with the loose fit tend to pucker slightly open and may tend to collect debris. The one zip pocket on the leg is smaller than preferred. I would like more secure storage for backcountry use. The rear two pockets are zipped so will keep out debris but I rarely store anything in them. Needs additional secure storage, tall sizes, true waist sizing. Would not use for backcountry.

In hot and humid weather, nothing compares to the Ferrosi pants. It definitely qualifies as a 3/season pants. It's not built for cold weather, but I don't think it was intended for that temperature extreme. There are some issues that OR should address to make it unbeatable. First, the sizing is off by about an inch in the inseam and the waist. Second, it pills when exposed to even slightly abrasive surfaces. If the above improvements bumped up the price to $100, I wouldn't hesitate to buy some.
