At first I wondered why I'd buy a jacket that wasn't as warm as my insulating jackets, wasn't fully waterproof, etc. Instead its become my favorite jacket, worn almost daily outside of the summer. Its a jack of all trades- just enough added warmth, just enough water resistance, great breathability, looks good.

It is a suit that suits Koreans well. It is very comfortable and the material stretches well. I am very happy to be able to purchase good clothes at an affordable price.

No thermal lining but that's not what this us for. Throw it on over your other layers to complete, and that's where this thing shines.
It's absurdly lightweight for a jacket thia versatile.

I wear it like a sweater, every day in the office. when the cold air return is right above me, I need just a bit more than normal office wear and this jacket is light enough for what I need without overheating. And when I need to run outside for lunch or something I don't have to take it off. The perfect everyday wear.

I've been using this jacket for a few months and I love it. It serves as a nice under layer for belaying and provides nice protection from the sun. The sizing was accurate (medium for 6'0", 170lb male). Would recommend for hiking and climbing.

I bought this jacket for my wife and I based off of previous reviews. After having it for over a month now, I am extremely impressed. So far I've worn it on several hikes as an outer-layer and mid-layer, also multiple days just around town. It's comfortable, versatile, durable, and breaths well. Living in the PNW, I own a lot of jackets. However, I am finding myself grabbing this jacket almost every time. I would buy it again.

This is a perfect light weight soft shell, very breathable, still windproof enough and comfortable to wear all day.

I use this as a lightweight shell over my fleece or insulated layer. It's very lightweight and stretchy but the material has a great roughish texture that doesn't snag or tear like some ultralight materials. It's light enough that it works on warmer days as a wind breaker. Great versatility for the price. Highly recommend.

Just more high quality, durable, and good looking equipment for the mountain and around town. I have owned 5 Ferrosi jackets it the last 10 years and all are still serviceable.
Best purchases I've made.

Awesome jacket so far, I am curious to see how it will perform in the rain, I know it isnt a rain jacket but hoping it will keep some moisture out as well, so far so good!

This is a long-term review of Ferrosi material (and Ferrosi tops) in general, as the piece I've had for almost four years is no longer in production.
I *really* like how this is so insanely thin, yet is like a brick wall against wind and is stretchy. It's resistant to light moisture as long as the DWR is kept up, but even if it's been a while between DWR refreshes, this stuff dries incredibly fast. It will dry while being worn. Its drying ability must contribute to its ability to manage sweat. I sweat A LOT while exercising in this and it merely gets damp. It's so busy drying, it doesn't get soaked.
Let me tell you what I've done with my Ferrosi top since mid-2018, and you can decide if this jacket would work for the same:
- Running in the cold
- Running in light rain/mist
- As an outer wind/light snow blocking layer when skinning in light snow and/or moderate winds down to 0F (not including wind chill). Don't believe me? Trust me, even in those temps you get real hot when skinning uphill. Sweat management is important to not literally freezing when you reach the summit of wherever you're going, so you end up wearing way, way less than you normally would for those temps. However, not freezing on the way UP is also very important. This is where the Ferrosi comes in. If it's windy, or snowing at all, you'll get either wet from the snow, or freeze from the wind. The Ferrosi keeps the moisture wicking and/or insulating layer from being soaked so it can do its work of pumping your sweat into the surrounding air while keeping you warm; it also keeps the wind from sweeping your preciously small barrier of warm air out of your insulating layer.
- Downhill skiing in temps anywhere from 20F and up
- Hanging out around a fire on cool spring/fall evenings
- Sitting in an airplane for hours (Ferrosi packs smaller than cotton t-shirt material)
- Watching movies in theater (remember how chilly those are?)
So, yeah. This material for use as a top is legit. I'm a raving fan.

Very comfy windbreaker that is really versatile. Compacts and folds into a really good travel size. Surprisingly warm for a fairly thin jacket!

A year ago I purchased some men's ferrosi jeans here on the OR website. Those jeans did an awesome job through a ton of pretty rough terrain over a ton of hiking miles! I figured the jacket would be worth checking out. And yes, it is! While I haven't yet put a lot of miles on it, so to speak, I can say it is exactly as advertised. The large fits like other larges fit me. And the material is tough, stretchy, not too heavy, and breathable. It works on cool days - I've worn it on a 45 degree day with just a wool t-shirt underneath. But it is also decent on a 60 degree day! All in all this is a great outdoor jacket that is also tough as nails.

I intend to use this as an active breathable outer layer while nordic/backcountry touring. So far, has met my expectations as an outer, breathable shell while running. Would prefer velcro, adjustable wrists but not enough to affect my rating. I'm 5'9', 150 lbs, 37'' chest and the sizing (small) is perfect in all aspects.

I'm not a huge fan of hoodies, I prefer the zip up. This thing has changed the game for me. Stretchy material that can breathe, it's breaks the wind off. The pockets are perfectly placed and has a big zipper pocket in the front. Easily packable, great for fishing or hunting too as well as the mountain side.

Stretchy and lightweight. It's like having a thick layer of skin. Good as an outer layer in summer and under layer in winter.
