I bought these as my first trail running shoe and I am in love with them. Good quality, love the color combo, and super comfy on my feet. Definitely will be a continuous buyer when they wear out.

This shoe is probably one of the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I have small ankles and a wide foot base, therefore when hiking my foot slides into front of my shoe/boot. These good my ankle in place and have what I like to call "Spider-Man" grip for all terrain Arizona hiking. It may be a running shoe, but I'll never hike without these again.

This is my third pair of these shoes since I started trail running. I won't buy anything else. They are indestructible and comfortable for long back packing trips and long runs alike.

I purchased the shoe to run in the Spartan race so they could handle water, mud and still give me the grip I needed. They were great and very light weight. Although I wanted the darker color and you were out at the time I am getting used to the bright blue!

The sole is noticeably softer in the forefoot than the Bushido I, but otherwise the shoe feels very similar to the original. This can be worn more on the occasional road without worrying your feet will get sore from a hard shoe. Overall, such a perfect all-around trail shoe. Will be go-to for all alpine summer runs!

These were my favorite shoes. I have 11 pairs and have worn them hiking as well as out to dinner. In the last couple years the width changed and it is to narrow. Very sad because they were the most comfortable shoe I have ever had.

I thought these would work but after wearing them for roughly 20 miles, I find them useless. My toes get numb in one or both feet and I have blisters in my heel every time. I think the fit must be too narrow as others have stated. I otherwise like the stability of the shoe for trail running.

Went with half size larger based on other reviews, and glad I did. A little narrow in the toe area, but not enough to return. Overall, comfortable fit.

Nice shoe, however the listed weights are wrong. They claim 250g weight, when in reality *each* shoe weighs about 300 grams (EU42). Not a dealbreaker for me, but you're getting ~20oz of shoe when they list weight at 8.8oz soooooo....

I wore Bushido I day in, day out for two years. Absolutely loved them. Then a puppy nibbled on them, and they also started showing wear. Bushido II's are a bit different. Gorgeous colors if you like teals and turquoise and grays. Very solid, quality construction. A tiny bit more narrow than Bushido I but I have a medium to somewhat wide foot and they fit just fine. I got my usual sneaker size and they fit just right. I would have loved a bit more high arch support but that's hard to find. So - fits fine size-wise and normal width-wise. Quality - superb. High arches? - might want to swap the insole for a specialty one.

I wanted to like these shoes because I want a soft, thin tongue with a cut out because I have issues with my tendon when it is rubbed by regular tongues.
The shoe is tight around the front of my foot, where I have another problem. I went up a half size, too. So, with my orthotics, I wear a half size larger- I had to add another half size with because the toe box was tight around my foot. I have narrow feet, so this was surprising.
I would have liked some additional padding.
Other than that, they are light, I like the material, and I especially like the tongue.

These run very small (narrow AND short). Great looking shoe and a previous pair of Bushidos were some of my favorite most long-lasting running shoes ever, but this version is strangely down-sized. Bummer.

The first pair of Bushidos that I purchased fit amazingly. However the second pair, same shoe and size, was very different. I even sat down and compared style numbers bc I could not believe it. First pair fit my very narrow and low-volume feet securely. Second pair: I had to buy Superfeet orthotics and wear them on top of the insoles that came w the shoes and they still were too large. Without doing that I would bewalking on the area where the footbed and the cloth upper meet. How am I supposed to hike trails like that? It is already nearly impossible to get shoes that fit my feet. It’s very disappointing to think you finally found something that works and then it fails. La Sportiva, please work on quality control/consistency.

I love the style of these shoes as well as their light weight for trail hiking. But they were just to narrow and too small. They also came up higher on my ankle then I like or is comfortable. The biggest thing is that they are for a narrow foot and did not fit my orthotic I need to prevent plantar fasciitis.

I really wanted to love these shoes but I absolutely hated them. I am a size 10 so I ordered 10 1/2 and they felt like they were suffocating my feet. I went up to a size 11 and after wearing them for one run, I felt like I was going to have a blister on the ball of my foot. That evening my feet were aching so bad and for 2 days after that it felt like the bones were bruised. Definitely would not recommend these shoes.

Returned these sneakers as soon as I tried them on as they were mis-sized in every aspect: too short, too narrow especially in the toe box, very uncomfortable.

I love this shoe; this is my third pair. However, the shoe box looked like it was opened and the right side shoe was apparently already tried on. The laces were undone and hanging outside the shoe and there was no ball of tissue stuck inside the shoe like you normally have with a brand new shoe. I do not appreciate getting a used shoe, even if it was just tried on once and returned. I will keep these shoes, but do not want returned shoes again.

This is my 3rd pair of Bushidos. This is my first of the II's. Does not fit the same as the old ones. Not as flat/neutral in the footbed. Has been causing me foot pain as it seems to be pushing my ankles inward/downward. Heal area tighter and weird pressure points now. Toe box not as wide and seems to cut inwards on the inside more than the last version. I love the color and the grip. The grip on these have been far superior than any other trail runner I've tried. They are light and dry fast. Just highly disappointed in the changes to the fit and pain I'm having, which means I likely will not buy another pair. This is after 40+ miles of trail jogging and/or hiking and still not fitting ok. The older versions were perfect right off the bat.

I loved my Bushido I's and was really excited to try out the Bushido II's. Ultimately I had to return these shoes because the construction had changed enough that I no longer had enough space in the toe box. On longer runs I generally like shoes with slightly more room for my toes to splay, and to allow for swelling/contracting of my feet as I go. Although the Bushido I was perfect for this, the Bushido II was just a little too constricting for my liking. The Bushido II still has great responsiveness, and is great for rocky trail runs.

I bought the Bushido II for a 300 off-trail backpacking trip across the Sierra Nevada, during I climbed 10 of California's 14,000'+ mountains, mostly class 3 scrambles and some class 4 climbs. I do at least one long back-country backpack trip per year, and until this year have been a loyal fan of the Brooks Cascadia. Recent design changes by Brooks prompted me to try to Bushido II instead.
The Bushido II fits extremely comfortably right out of the box, exactly what I was looking for: narrower toebox, comfortable drop and great support.
After my hike I found, the upper held up amazingly well! 5-stars for the rugged upper! Very little visible wear and tear even after dragging/smearing my feet against the side of rough granite. The breathable mesh does it's job well, and my feet were dry in 50 minutes after a rainstorm or river crossing.
The sole and supportive mid-sole however did not fair as well. The sole, while very sticky/grippy initially, wore down fairly quickly and I started losing traction after about 190 miles of cross-country. After about 250 miles I started slipping on smooth granite slabs. I was disappointing for a company well know for it's climbing gear to have have it's sole wear down so quickly. In comparison, last year my Brooks Cascadia held up to a 350 mile off-trail trip and still had enough life in it to take on short local hikes for the rest of the year.
The supportive mid-sole failed similarly. Also after roughly 190 miles, the support in the shoe started noticeably degrading. resulting in some heel soreness.
Overall, the shoe has a great design and started off strong, but for the price point I'd like a shoe that can hold up to at least one backpacking trip.

I was surprised that even though I ordered up a full size as I normally do with athletic shoes, these felt too snug. I ordered another model of La Sportivas in the same size and they're great! Had to send these back.

Was really hoping this was "THE" hiking shoe. Absolutely no support at all. Felt like I was wearing ballet slippers. Felt every rock, pebble, root and stick. Would not recommend for hiking at all. So sad these were not the one.
