Seems like a very good shoe but runs at least a size small. Normally take a 13, 47 was more like a 12.

I was going to purchase The Ultra Raptor II GTX, but it was never available in my size. I was looking at these as a backup and finally my size became available in these Wildcats. I was looking for a good Gortex trail runner to keep my feet dry. These felt great right out of the box. Ten minutes into my run they felt like butter on my feet. Stable, well cushioned, good traction, responsive and kept my feet nice and dry. They pretty much check all the boxes. I only do shorter runs, 3-6 miles, but I do go out almost everyday and I've only had them for a couple weeks, so we'll see how durable they are. Some people have complained about the traction, but I've had them on wet roots and rocks without any issues. The only negative I can think of is availability, but that has nothing to do with the shoes. Everything has supply chain issues right now, so I can't really fault La Sportiva for that. Bottom line is, these are great shoes.

Exceptional performance! Very happy with these shoes. They have enabled me to continue running through some extremely snowy and slushy winter conditions — my feet stay warm and dry through the grossest muck. Traction is really good: these grip as well or better than my winter boots. They shed slush very effectively: it doesn’t get caked up in the treads. Highly recommended!

No complaints. Owned my Wildcats for 2 years now and only an occasional runner. I used them mostly for hiking and they are fantastic. I'm about to order my second set; it's time for a fresh pair.

I purchased these shoes about a year ago and have put them through all kinds of different terrain and soggy conditions. The shoe at first did take a little getting used to because of how snug they fit my feet. I have not had and traction issues as of yet or complaints. 100% pleased with them.

Just finished the Camino de Santiago (Northern Way) and walked 517 miles in 31 days in a pair of Wildcat 2.0 GTX. It rained the first week so the gortex helped keep the feet dry. The rest of the time it was sunny and warm but shoes breathed well. Overall, the soles were worn down pretty good and the insoles could have been replaced but they got me through the adventure. I have three pair of the Wildcats and love them. I am going to keep my Camino shoes as a reminder of this trek. Thanks for making a wonderful shoe!

I'm a bigger guy and tend to run a bit heavy footed, that's probably the military training.... I enjoy getting out and running, and when I put a shoe on I want it to fit right the first time I put it on, I want it to be comfortable, and a bit loose in the toe box, this shoe did exactly that, felt warm in the snow, a bit slippery with the rubber gripping, but more comfortable around the ankle where you tie it down vs. my last pair of trail shoes. I'm sold on these. I'll be a customer for the time being until I wear these out.

Over the past years I have bought at least ten pairs of this shoe. When new they are great performers. The soles last a long time, they have great support, are actually waterproof, and are stiff enough to give great edging in off trail side-hill scrambling. They are not perfect however, and they consistently have had 3 problems.
1. For waterproof shoes they do not grip well at all on wet rocks or wood.
2. Invariably, well before the shoes show any wear anywhere else, the linings of the heels get worn through.
3. Several pairs have had lace loops break through and are irreparable, which is odd because the simple woven nylon lace loops on my several pairs of non GTX version never wear out here.
But in the end I like these shoes well enough to keep buying them. Though I do wish these problem areas would be fixed.

Ignore the true to size option, only took it because the option i am looking for is not available. I bought a 43 1/2 {10 1/2} which is my normal athletic shoe size. Seems a little short. Ordered a 44, felt the same. Ordered 44 1/2 & 45, both were too long. I really like these shoes, but am unable to get a really good fit on length. Zappo's has been super great on the return process through all this.

I have a had a few pairs of the GTX and non GTX Wildcats. They are super comfortable out of the box, the GTX naturally takes a little more time to soften up. They are such a comfortable shoe but the outsoles wear down so quickly (super soft). I love everything about these shoes except that the outsoles are done when the rest of the shoe barely has miles on them.

A great shoe that's ideal for running on forest trails. However, as soon as you hit any rocky surface, the traction disappears and you start sliding around. Also, while the Gore-Tex worked perfectly during the first 5 runs, my feet started being wet shortly after. Now the shoe gets wet as easily as if there is no Gore-Tex, and then it stays wet for ever since it doesn't breathe properly.

This is a good looking shoe, however forget getting them on with the contoured heel and instep. The tongue is one piece so you can't unlace and pull the tongue out to help get your foot in. The ankle? What's up with that contour that curves inward. Good looks poor design, unless you have very narrow feet and a low instep. Ps. I'm a woman that wears mens shoes for hiking, running and all terrain. I have a wide foot with a high instep.( my wide is a mens normal.) I rated a 2 because I couldn't even get the shoe on.

I actually have both the GTX and non-GTX version of this show. I bought the non-GTX version first for a hike through Scotland that was a bit unwise. But the shoe was comfortable. So I bought the GTX version for a recent section hike of the PCT in Washington. I knew that the soles were slick, but they turned out to be dangerously so.
I'm fairly use to the slipperiness of rocks in streams. Still, I was pretty shocked at how slick these shoes were while trying to balance on a rock during a recent stream crossing. I made it across to a large, flat rock, turned slightly and it was like I was standing on ice. My feet went out from under me, landed in freezing cold water, soaking my lower body, lost a trekking pole and very easily could have broken a wrist or something.
If you ONLY, ONLY, ONLY plan on hiking or running in dry environments, I guess this shoe would be good for you. I've seriously almost slipped in city when it was raining. The soles are THAT BAD. Which is too bad. I really want to like this show.
