First off these shoes one of the greatest shoes I've owned. Most of the reviews and youtube breakdowns I've seen have commented on how great this shoe is for trail runs in the snow. This shoe is not for that purpose, go get the snow spike before Salomon discontinues it *cough cough*. I cannot say enough good about this shoe. The first time I took it out was a 9 hour trek up and down scree, side hilling, through streams, snow, alders, blueberries etc. I didn't have to adjust the fit a single time. Subsequent trips have been just as great. If I had to only choose a one shoe quiver it would be between this and the SLAB Ultras. I did get a small hole in the top while in a particularly abrasive patch of large scree, lesser shoes would have buckled under such pressure.

I've had mine for 10 months. In this time I've summitted 34 peaks including first half of the Cuilin Ridge for which they are perfect. The grip is second to none and the fit is perfect. The gaiter prevents small stones from entering the boot and keeps the feet reasonably dry when cross snowpatches in the spring. Note that they are no boots, so you'll feel the cold when walking in snow, but that isn't bad. It just reminds you to keep moving. If they had the heel lip for b2 crampons they'd "perfect alpine".

Had one pair for 3 years, i used them evrywhere from the forest, to alpine mountain, even with light crampons on glaicer. After i worn them out i could not find a place to buy new ones, but here they are! Haleluja!

Living in Ohio I had very little reason to wear these shoes, but on a recent trip to Death Valley I got to test them out, and they excellent. I find them quite comfortable and as wide as the original XA Alpine, so even though Salomon says "slim" width they feel like a "standard" with to me; I wear the same size in my Sense Ride and other Salomon shoes (all 10 across the board). The built-in gaiter keeps the dirt out and so far the zipper has stayed up without any issue. The water resistant upper worked great in deep snow but I do believe the shoes are not 100% waterproof. The grip is great although I do wish the lugs were a tad deeper for muddy/dirt sections. They do excel on rock and perform OK on snow. I wish Salomon would release some sort of "micro spike" that attached to this specific shoe for routes where you have rock, then snow, then ice. Overall, a great shoe and solves so many problems, specifically keeping dirt and debris (like small scree) out of the shoe.

My feet is 7.5UK but I order 8UK so it's not crazy tight; given this shoe's reviews, I decided ordering 8.5K and hope for the best. Length wise is ok, adequate space in front of the toes, great; problem is the width, it's really snug, to the point I cant fit in with thick socks. Other than that, love them, hope the break out a bit.

Fantastic shoes for the alpine terrain! I really enjoy a ride in these shoes. Super lightweight with gaiter protection, very comfy and roomy. Also, front rubber is super sticky on the rocky ground. Highly recommended!

Can't speak to the durability of these but I have reynauds and my feet always get super cold. Took these on a 6 hour snow shoe through deep snow, rain, and slick sharp rocks and they performed perfectly. Feet stayed dry and warm.

I bought these a year ago and wear them all the time and at work, they would still look brand new if I cleaned them up. These are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and I'm comparing that to some of the most advanced cushioning technologies on sneakers. During the summer they don't get hot and during the winter my feet have never gotten cold. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely worth the price!

Phenomenal shoe. I live in Crested Butte, CO (Think cold and snowy) and these don't just keep my feet dry, they also keep them warm. No longer do i have to worry about wearing thick or warm socks, I can rock super thin socks and yesterday on a 15 degree day, my feet were toasty. Ignore the one rogue review! They dont have spikes, so on true ice, you will still slip a tiny bit but they grip wonderfully in deep snow or even just a dusting of snow. So pumped that I found a worthy winter shoe that isn't a big ole boot.

I call them my 3in1 ones, wear them for running and hiking when it's really snowing, rainy, or cold. My feet are warm and dry even when running thru puddles and significant slush. Swapped out the insole for my inserts, no issues, comfortable, and so far holding up great. Would love it if these came multiple versions - a plain black, and then a more colorful/reflective option.

Great traction, warm and overall phenomenal runner. I'd recommend for mid foot and heel striker, looking to take your runner on trail, fall, winter and spring. A must have for someone looking for added protection, good cushion and solid stability

Went camping with the boys and the shoe held up great. Feels like it gives you the protection of a boot with the comfort and weight of a sneaker (though it probably isn't as durable as a boot). Quite water resistant as well - wore it in pouring rain while walking in long grass and my feet were bone dry. I found that the shoe runs true to size. Pricy shoe but the functionality is great and it looks awesome as well (with long pants).

Es una zapatilla de correr, ligera, con dinamismo... (como una sense s-lab) y al mismo tiempo el cubre la hace impermeable para la nieve y el pie se mantene caliente y la suela se agarra muy bien para escalar en roca o en terreno tcnico. I went on some mountain hikes and I cannot describe in words how amazing these shoes are. I went in ankle deep snow and my feet did not got cold. Is a note, my feet get cold fast. The sole of these shoes were also great due to the anti slip material. I would give it a 10 star if possible. I bought them to use in the summer and avoid the dirt and small stones getting into my shoes. In my recent trip to Romania in February I decided to use them on a light hike on a small mountain in Brasov. After that I used them for all my hikes. No mountain boot needed. As a note, I never write reviews, however, the greatness of these shoes highly deserves one. I gave them to my sister and now I need a new pair. She is big into all mountain sports and she was also amazed how nice they are. She also appreciates how light of a shoe it is.

Un peu de poids c'est certain. tr?s bon amorti, super attaque avant pied. maintient et protection mall?ole au top. Dommage q'iil n'y est pas un mod?le un peu estival (plus a?r? peu t'?tre du coup plus l?gere. A r?fl?chir sur un point quant il pleut et que l'on passe dans du terrain enneig?, l'eau qui peut ruisseler dans la chaussure devient un vrai cong?lateur quand on court dans la neige. Gestern damit in einer top Zeit auf die Zugspitze gelaufen! Da ein Laufschuh unter der Garmasche versteckt ist funktioniert das Laufen/joggen auch mehr als gut! Am Gletscher angekommen, grdel aufgeschnallt und durch von der Sonne aufgewrmten nassen Schnee gestapft und die Fen blieben trocken. Am Klettersteig ist der Schuh fr mich stabil genug um auch eine C Kategorie Klettersteig zu meistern und trotzdem noch angenehm weich fr die geh/lauf Passagen zu sein. Falls einem in dem Schuh zu hei sein sollte kann man einfach den Knopf am schafft schlieen und nur den Reiverschluss offen lassen. Fazit: einer der besten Schuhe fr Lufe vom Tal bis zum Gipfel bei allen mglichen Bedingungen.
