Great shoe! I am very flatfooted and sometimes shoes can be very uncomfortable. These shoes feel great! I walk about 6 miles a day and thanks to these shoes my feet feel great and stay dry all day, even in the pouring rain. They do seem to run a little small, I typically wear a men's 8 and had to send back my first pair and get a size 9 instead. But Zappos has great customer service and exchanging shoes is super easy.

Comfortable right out of the box. Very supportive, but not stiff. Waterproof too. Great first impression,

My husband loves these. He is very flat footed so he struggles with shoes that fit him well. He bought these just for hiking but has been wearing them for everyday as well.

Very comfortable

I bought these for my 12 year old son. We hike almost every weekend and he’s got a ton of use of them. They are comfortable and stylish. He’s outgrown them and we will buy him the next size up. I also bought a pair for my husband and he loves them.

I’m usually a 10 and these fit but they just fit. Overall Solomon’s run a bit on the smaller side and narrow. Fit me well but if I was doing a ton of hiking they’d be too small. Love them for what I bought them for.

I bet I tried on 15+ pairs of waterproof hiking shoes trying to find something that worked. Salomon’s run a bit small and maybe a touch narrower IMO so I’d order a 1/2 size up if you’re unsure (I always order both and return the other since Zappos returns are so easy). They offer a lot of comfort compared to other hikers. I just hiked 20 miles in the Adirondacks with very little break in period. They didn’t see too much rain, but feet stayed dry. Love these!

Tried many different brands and styles of hiking style shoes and these were by far the best fit as I have flat feet.

Great fit - very comfy. Well made shoe. I use them for yard work a lot and the gore-tex is key.

Comfortable

Great shoes. I was looking for something versatile that I could wear going for a hike, but also while working in the yard on the weekends. I would definitely recommend.

Overall I like the shoe but had to return it because it felt too narrow.

I have a very difficult time finding a shoe that is comfortable because of nerve damage and a years ago broken foot. This shoe is as good as any I've tried. I've had Salomons before and always like the fit, but they did not last. One pair, the sole came unglued, and the other the cushioning didn't last. Hopefully these will last.

Nothing special about these shoes - they fit...OK. They look...OK. They are OK for comfort. Just meh. Would not buy again.

I was originally happy with this purchase but after about a week, it was clear that the sizing felt substantially smaller than expected. I purchased the same size as my salomon hiking boots (purchased only a month or so previously in a half-size larger) but the shoes run even smaller. Unfortunately, given that I had worn them for a week, I cannot return them to either Zappos (no original packaging) or Salomon (because they were bought at Zappos). I still like salomon products but unfortunately, this has not been a good experience. I would still recommend the products but would remember that the sizing seems to run both small and somewhat inconsistent across products. This rating is more a frustrated customer than a normal three-star review, but the customer experience was lacking.

I love the shoes, but the fit was too narrow for my feet.

I really like the style and features in these and was hoping they would fit as well as my previous pair of Salomons. This was not the case. I ordered them a half size larger than my usual size as I had read reviews about this particular model. However, as a tried them on I noticed how uncomfortably snug they were on my feet. They also put pinching pressure on the outer mounds of my small toes. Based on my experience I would say the X Crest model is designed for narrower feet. Other than that, they seem well constructed and have good cushioning.

Feels rigid and narrow

After returning this shoe in my usual size 11 because they were too small, I ordered 11.5 a half size up. Too big, I am returning. Salomon has always fit me well in the past.
