The Marmot Precip rain jacket is a super lightweight, extremely versatile jacket. The platinum color is a cool neutral that looks awesome with literally any outfit. I wasn’t really sure how this color would pair with my fair skin, but it actually looks quite nice. Some neutrals can make me look really washed out, but this color worked well. Size large is perfect for my long arms. I’m 5’-6”, but my arms didn’t get the memo and are super long, so while my body could probably fit in a medium, I’ll almost always size up for extra sleeve length. Plus with the larger size, there is still space to layer a long sleeve shirt or something more substantial underneath and still have room to move around. If you are pear shaped like me, this jacket is great. It is not too long, so it hits your hips at a flattering place and doesn’t weirdly pull or puff up across your stomach as some jackets can. Doubles as a great wind breaker and I love the arm pit vents (those are a must for me!). I’ll wear this jacket to work, to meet friends in the city, or on a hike. It’s also very easy to pack (you can roll it up and tuck it in a tote purse or carry on, it takes up very little space and weighs just about nothing). Overall, a pretty awesome jacket... just be careful you don’t snag any delicate sweater fabric on the Velcro! I wish there were some sleek snaps or a waterproof zipper instead of Velcro, but otherwise it’s perfect!

The Marmot Pre-Cip jacket is mine and my daughters' favorite rain jacket. It is top for quality and style. We like everything about it: it is waterproof and breathable, has a flattering cut, zippered pockets, adjustable hood that stows in the collar when not needed, very light weight and packable into a very small package. The sleeves are easily adjustable with velcro tabs. As for sizing, I find that it runs on size. I am 5'3' and 115 lbs. and the Small is just right for me. It is neither tight nor loose and allows for some layering, too, in cold whether. The PitZips come in handy when ventilation is needed. For all the above features, I strongly recommend the Marmot PreCip rain jacket.

I have this in the Platinum color in size Medium. I'm 5'6", 140lbs., and this fits perfectly over fall clothing. The color is beautiful and reminds me of pearls - it's a neutral, but won't get lost in your purse like black accessories often do. Another bonus: it actually stuffs into its own pocket without struggling or squeezing, so you can easily toss it into your purse, car, luggage, etc. This jacket has seen me through rainy days, a cruise, boat rides on the ocean, and cold movies & restaurants. It makes a great windbreaker as well, and can even be used to stay dry in warm spring rain because there are zippers under each arm for ventilation - this jacket does it all! The only issue I have with it is that there is VELCRO on the sleeves and front zipper area. Can we all just stop using velcro?!? It's worse than glitter! I'm constantly worried about my scarves, leggings, and sweaters. There has to be a better solution, and if Marmot would replace the velcro with something else (snaps, bungees, etc) it would be the perfect jacket!

I realize that I prefer a lined jacket, rather than one like this, with no lining. The chest and waist fit me OK, but the jacket's hip measurement was definitely too tight for my pear shape. I was hoping for something similar to my current favorite Marmot jacket (in a different color). The PreCip Eco Jacket is not it.

Great fit, nice color. I had a Marmot rain jacket before, I still like my old one better. Of course nothing last forever, this one is a very close match for my old one. Feels very light, no lining, only one layer, makes it easy to wear something under if needed. Packable, folds very small. Love the angel wing movement and the armpit vents.

I love this jacket but the first time I washed it, following the instructions, large sections of the white interior lining flaked off. I can't wear it now without getting the fibers all over my clothes (plus waterproofing is compromised in key places). I reached out to customer service, but never heard back (33955567).

This is a great lightweight shell that has kept me warm and dry while getting drenched while chimp trekking in Uganda and gorilla trekking in Rwanda. Fantastic mix of waterproof breathability helps make this a prefect travel jacket.

This is my second Marmot PreCip Jacket and I couldn't be happier with fit and finish. I usually wear a medium, but opted for the large to be able to wear layers underneath. Recently tested it in windy conditions during a cold drizzle, and it kept me warm and dry. Hood cinches down nicely to keep it in place too.

I love the Marmot PreClip jacket, it has a very flattering fit and is perfect for rainy days. I have also worn it while jogging and the material is breathable and kept my undershirts dry. It is the best rain jacket I have and would recommend for Spring and Fall wear.

Nice- Light Rain Jacket, I'm usually a medium, fits good, enough room to layer, not a heavy jacket, & doesn't look frumpy on me, The Hood is good coverage, I hate when my hair gets frizzy, lol Hood will stay on!

We purchased 10 of these jackets for our ERT drone crews based on past experience. The PreCip used to be a good quality jacket that would last you more than 365 days...Usually good for a few years if you looked after it. Seems like Marmot puts more effort into too many designs rather than sticking to a few great jackets. We won't be purchasing Marmot gear in the near future. Precipitation breaks down and begins to leak within a few wears.

Haven't tried it in the rain yet but wore it in the shower to test the waterproofing and it performed very well. Very little water seepage into the seems, I imagine a light rain will be perfectly fine but really long in a torrential downpour may have a little seepage.

The best light weight rain jacket recently bought my second one in a larger sizer. It's extremely durable and functional with so many great details. The hood folds up smoothly and the body of the jacket is slightly tapered. Get this jacket you won't be disappointed.

Best lightweight rain jacket you can buy. Keeps you dry all day and is small enough to pack away when the rain stops! My husband wears M/L/32/32 and the medium fit great with room for a layer.

This is my 3rd time purchasing this same jacket. The first time I needed it for a trek i was taking with my husband in Cusco, Peru - an expedition to find the last Incan civilization (NOT Macchu Picchu) and i left it with a new friend I'd met - a yoga instructor from Lima) who adored it. I'm 5'5 and she's 5'9 and still, it fit her perfectly, as our weight is about the same. She loved it. Then it happened again. I bought one for myself and wore it to death until it was nearly in rags. So i bought it again - only 1 size up - and it's PERFECT. I hope to find someone who admires it on me that i end up giving it to and to her so I can buy another one. Thanks, Marmot. xoxo

The jacket is lightweight and packs easily into a carryon bag. I love the hood that rolls up and stores in the collar. I rejected a lot of comparable jackets made by other companies because the hood just hangs in back when not in use. I hate that.

Gift for wife - was her #1 choice out of about a dozen options. Good balance between too flimsy vs. too heavy. She likes the underarm zip vents. Very practical.
