This shoe, while cute as a button, is HUGE. I wear a 6.5M. I first ordered the 37, which felt like a size 8. I returned it for a size 36. Still huge and like the first pair, the heel width is enormous. They feel like a "wide" width. I still feel like I am walking out of the shoe, even with it laced tightly. Heel inserts couldn't even save the sizing for me. The final downside is that as you can tell by virtue of the size of the sole, it's a very heavy shoe. Too late for me to return them, I've worn them once, out. But sadly, I will be giving them away. A size 36 here is like a size 8. The medium width is like a wide shoe - especially in the heel.

As docs go the sizing is different than other shoes. I am a spot on size 8, purchased the Doc size 7 and they are perfect. With the platform sole these have extra cush! With other oxfords I have had some ouchy break in time on the back of the heel. So far on the 1st day there has been no ouch! These can be styled so many ways!!!

Wow! This is the first Dr. Martens I have purchased, and now I know why everyone raves about this brand. I am on my feet at work 12 hours a day, and I am so thankful to finally find such a comfortable shoe that feels as if I am walking on air. My feet and back no longer hurt. What a relief it is to find such a comfortable shoe. That the shoe is also stylish is an added plus. Thanks Dr. Martens.

This shoe is very comfortable right out of the box. However, I followed the previous reviews and got the next size down. I am always a 7 in nearly every shoe except for docs. I went with a 6 and they fit perfect with my ankle athletic socks.

Cool Docs!! dressy or casual

Though I love the look of these shoes and the chunky sole, the shoe is both large and wide. I normally take a size 9.5 womens. My feet are narrow. Using the size onversion 8 should be closest fit. The 8 was too large. I went with the 7. It was also a little large but the 6 would be too small front to back. Also, the fit is very wide and the laces cannot adjust enough for a narrow foot. I am keeping and will wear very thick socks as I do love the style. I would say these (and most other Dr Marten's I have tried) are best for people who don't have 1/2 size feet and who also have wide feet.

The shoe is beautiful, the leather is soft. The fit was a tad big but I am going to wear thick socks.

What's with the size?? My doc boots from a few years ago are a perfect 8. These shoes were a little big at first so I put in heel inserts. A few days later they have stretched out a and now they're slopping up and down in the heel again. GREAT. $140 pair of shoes that are too big. I doubt I could fit in a 7, and since you have to break these in, you're pretty much stuck with them either way. Love the style but come on, make them the right size.
