Their durable, fit well, stylish! I've had these pants for a few months now and they've already held up to several knee bars without issue. I like the hem cinches from a style perspective as well as for climbing. One thing I don't like about most climbing pants is the internal belt but the Russet Pants don't have one! and don't need one either! I prefer belt loops because it gives me a place to keep my carabiner with all my keys. Without belt loops it's awkward to find a place for them. I tend to find most pants stretch out around the waist with time however these pants haven't at all. The waist seems very well made. In the months i've had them there's been no stretching, and I haven't had to wear a belt at all yet.

These pants are so versatile. You can wear them while doing active work or just casually around town. My only gripe is that I wish they would make more colors available. Arc'teryx, will you be making more colors/upgrades available soon? I really hope so.

I bought these pants initially for rock climbing, but they can definitely be worn in an urban settings since they are stylish and not very technical looking. These pants provided excellent comfort for long days at the crag and on long climbing routes. I have reasonably larger legs than average and I never felt restricted when wearing these pants. I can appreciate how these pants are burly, but lightweight, and has exceeded my expectations in terms of durability when scrapping up against the hard granite rocks of Squamish. Another feature I can appreciate is the side leg pocket, which is convenient when you're wearing a harness for the majority of the day and you need to store your phone, wallet, etc. As well, the hem cinches are great for adjusting the length of the pants if you're in between a size or for when you're climbing and you want to be able to see your feet better. My only gripe with these pants is the fact that they aren't DWR coated, however I presume these pants were designed with the intentions of being used in dry climbing conditions or in urban settings. Overall, these pants were a great investment. I own a pair in the color tui and I absolutely love it.

I mostly use Arc'teryx clothing for tactical medical operations, and these pants were excellent on a recent medical operation in East Africa. While I love my Gamma LT pants, these pants have a more appropriate look for non-climbing settings and can be mistaken for dress khakis even. But the fabric is way more durable, lightweight, and fast drying than Dockers. The posterior knee pocket is magical - I have a pair of Oakley pants that also tried to do a rear knee-height pocket, and anything you put in it sits awkwardly beside your knee. But in the arc'teryx knee pocket, a wallet or phone somehow sits perfectly behind the knee and doesn't seem to obstruct or annoy. And any possession is well hidden from pick pockets there (of course it's also zippered, and zippered pockets are always safer).

bought my second pair of these after having some for a month, now my favorite everyday pant. I have the Atlin chino as well, used to be my favorite. Please add some more dark colors Charcoal, black), as a car guy, the dark blue is the go-to color for me. good fit all around, easy to keep clean, and nice for travel.

these pants are the jam. Seriously, they fit great for climbing and I even wore them to more formal events without too many raised eyebrows. super comfortable too. little things like the new-ish location of the hip pocket is really well thought out. It fits my iphone 7 and its out of the way while climbing...for those mandatory mid-pitch selfies.

First off, these pants are my new favorite climbing pants. I wish I could point to the Psiphon SL review I wrote a couple years ago, because those used to be my favorites before the Gamma Rocks became my favorite. Now the Russets are. FWIW, I own five pairs of the Psiphon and three pairs of the Gammas and I don't want to wear them any more now that I have the Russets. Why? The fit is right on point and I look great in them. I don't have to switch between street pants and climbing pants. With the Psiphon, they were on the baggier side and gave off a climbing bum vibe. The Gammas are too technical and lack the pockets for use on the street. These looks like street pants first and just happen to do very well on rock. In terms of being true to size, I've ordered size 30 in all pants and the Psiphons were just a hair tighter than I like, even with the elastic hook left off and the Gammas were just a hair too loose, necessitating the use of the elastic hook to tighten those down a little. These fit perfectly at size 30 and I can appreciate the other reviewer's gripe about having no adjustability, but I imagine the designers of this pant wanted it to have that dialed in fit, which means trying on for size. The only grip I have is the ankle cinch is a little clunky compared to other Arc'teryx pants I've had. I've ended up over cinching a few times and having the pants be too tight around my calf. Also, when it comes time to un-cinch them, you have to work elastic and its locking collar loose with some finagling rather than being able to pinch a release valve like other pants. I guess the streamlined cinching mechanism was designed to minimize bulk on these slim pants, but they're not the easiest to use.

I bought a pair of these, as they looked like the best replacement for the old pemberton pants, which I love. (I have 5 pairs), unfortunately I was disappointed with these. The styling and pockets are similar to the pemberton pants, pockets are good size and useful, the chalk bag loop on the back is really handy. The waist is low profile, however; with no drawcord or webbing belt, they don't stay on while climbing, and I need to wear an external belt, which negates the low profile waist, really these need to have a drawcord or webbing belt on the waist. The material is lightweight, but feels almost flimsy, and I can't imagine it standing up to rock for long. And if I was to nit pick, the material goes swish swish swish when I walk. Finally, whats wrong with a little splash of colour in our lives? These are colours are suitable, but I would appreciate at least one option that is bright and fun. To summarize, perhaps these are useful as a day to day pant, but they do not work as crossover climbing pants.
