I wear my Beta SL Pant cycling to work during the Vancouver rainy season which is basically year round. They are great emergency rain pants when I go for a day hike as they are light and roll up easily in my pack. I have worn them xcountry skiing and snowshoeing when the weather is a mixture of snow and rain and have stayed nice and dry. They are definitely one of my most used Arc'teryx products.

Overall a nice product. The pants do need pockets, front opening, and a better closing system at the cuffs. The waist adjustment system needs improvement too.

tried on the redesigned, full-zip Beta SL Pant and the past-season Alpha SL Pant at a local store that carried both options. the Beta SL Pant fits quite large, especially in comparison to the Alpha SL Pant (but that has always been a key difference in the fit of the Alpha and Beta products). tightening the belt on the Beta SL Pant was only so helpful as there was too much excess material and bulk, and sizing down was not helpful as while one size down fit, the pants become too tight to comfortably fit another pant underneath and do anything more than stand still. I purchased the past-season Alpha SL Pant and am thrilled with the fit and performance on a recent 5 day backpacking trip where 2+ days were in heavy rainfall. I only recommend these pants as they are currently Arc'teryx's only full-zip hiking pant. would be suitable for Winter use as well.

These pants were used many times on my climb up Kilimanjaro. We had a lot of rain and snow during the climb and, although the rain pant packed easily in my backpack and once on they kept me dry and warm, the bottom zipper barely fit over my hiking boot- it was a real struggle each time the rain started. Please make zipper longer!

I ordered this pants on 22th Nov,2020.After first time wear in heavy rain in May.The position of articulated knees get wet. I think it may not suitable for heavy rain. But today I try it in a light rain about 50km/hr speed. The front of thigh part fabric get wet again. This is very annoying to me.I don't know what wrong with this new pants. I was 6'1" tall crotch to floor 85cm,weight 77kg wear MT fit perfectly. If attach waist adjustment hook and pull down side zipper slightly around 20cm,you could still take out something form your inside pants' pocket that very useful to me.

My previous Arcteryx rain pants had an elastic waist strap, which allowed easy peeing in wet or cold conditions. I loved this pair The new design has a strap with a small hook and small hook notches. I'm dreading having to be in wet of cold conditions, needing to remove my gloves to detach the waist strap, and then somehow reattaching the waist strap with frozen fingers . . .

These trousers are amazing, as long as you don't have to wear them. The build quality is incredible, the design is clever. You will not get wet in these trousers. But you will get blisters. They fit atrociously for any serious movement. There is no stretch, which makes the fit crucial. Unfortunately, there's a real lack of fabric around the crotch, which leads to the trousers being pulled tight across your quads whenever you take a step. Wearing them for 3 hours whilst walking produced impressive sores. Such a shame to see a spectacularly engineered product let down by poor ergonomics.
