I bought these at the end of May and I'm a run/walker 5-6 days a week averaging 15 miles a week. These are my second pair of Glycerin I had the 16 before and loved them. This pair hurt my foot from the start and have worn down much faster than my 16 did. They are already breaking at the sole on the outsides of both pairs. I love Brooks but personally I wouldn't recommend the Glycerin17 for run/walking exercise.

I bought the Glycerin 17's in May, 5 months ago. I walk and run between 10-15 miles per week. I only wear these for training. I have retired Brooks for everyday wear. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever run in, but the outer sole is wearing away too fast. I still wear a pair of Glycerin 12s and Transcend 3s. Their soles are in better shape after years than the 17s after months. Very comfortable but too expensive if they wear out this fast.

I have plantar fasciitis and bought these thinking they would help with my heal pain but they just intensified it. As soon as i started walking in them, my heals almost instantly started hurting. The heal of the shoe is so hard there is no comfort in the back whatsoever. I could barely walk after running with these on. These may be good for people without heal pain but wouldn't recommend these for anyone with heal pain.

These shoes fit smaller and more narrow than many other Brooks models. I unfortunately didn't return them like I should have, wore them for a few short runs (under 5 miles), and now my feet are destroyed. My heels are in so much pain, I can hardly walk in the mornings. I pulled out of a half marathon I was registered for. It's going to take weeks to get over this. After just these few short runs, the shoes are already fraying, too.

I have been running in the adrenaline gts for years now but wanted to switch it up as the gts 20 was not getting rave reviews. I tried the glycerins for a short initial run and had achilles pain pretty quickly. I had to return them. Disappointed.

I was anxiously waiting for these shoes and as soon I put them on I was disappointed. They are too narrow and run small. I tried them on and my feet were hurting and only walked a few steps from my room to the livingroom. I will be returning them and not sure if I will be reordering since I don't know if I should go with a reg 6 or 6 wide :/

I have been using ASICS for long distance running and thought it was time to try a new brand. After researching I settled on these pair of shoes. I am a size 7 had to size up to a 7.5. I decided to break these shoes in during a walk and it gave me painful blisters. These shoes are not for wide feet. I returned the shoes and will be sticking to ASICS.

Way to wide in the top of my foot area. Felt like I was having to hold the ground with my toes. My feet would be sore from the workout. Returned and ordered Launch 7 in the same size, fit so much better. Nice looking shoe though.

Brooks Glycerins were my first shoe when I started running. I ran so many marathons and races in them. And that has been part of why I refused to move on even when the structure of the shoes changed. I started with the Glycerin 12s. I purchased the 17s and it doesn't feel like the same shoe anymore. I started re-wearing my old ones in the hopes the design would switch back soon. Sadly, it's time to move on. Bought a competitor's version and my feet are happy again. Still wish Brooks would return the glycerin to its former style.

I have been wearing this model for years and until this year this was the best shoe I've ever run in. This new model is the worst! I just finished a 15k and am in so much pain in my feet I can barely walk. My feet hurt before I even started running. No cushion.. no support!! And the shoelaces don't hold their knot. What happened, Brooks?

Definitely changed the style and not comfortable like Glycerin 11 or any past. I have been wearing them for years but won't be buying another pair.

I've been wearing glycerine for 7 years . They've always been my go to running shoe . Although I'm pleased with the color selection , cute shoes are useless if they don't support your feet ? After wearing these shoes on two runs , they felt like I had been running in them for years , I'm the worst way . Zero support , my toes shift around in the toe box bc they are too wide , and I'm not sure how these boast to be a long distance running shoe ? They have very little cushion . I'm so disappointed and will be looking for another running shoe . These are terrible . :(

The shoes are comfortable overall but what I hate about these shoes is that for both shoes on the inside edge at the big toe is a little bead inside the shoe lining. I tried to press it away but it didn't help. It makes one of my big toes really hurt and it is a nuisance on an otherwise great shoe. I am done with Brooks for now. This is a deal breaker.

I have been wearing brooks glycerin for years. They used to just feel great the minute you put them on and they didn't even require any breaking in. I told everyone to buy them because of that. The minute I put on this new style it felt terrible. After walking in them for a short period of time the balls of my feet began to hurt in addition to them being very uncomfortable and felt awful in the heel. I also thought that the tongues were much too narrow. I am heartbroken as I expected to be able to just buy glycerins forever. Now I have to go out and find another shoe that works for me. I would love to see the old glycerins back.

The 17's are a huge disappointment. I was disappointed with color selection, but even more disappointing are the support and comfort level. I have 18 pairs of Brooks, but I always wear the Glycerins for work bcz I am on my feet for 12 hours. This is the first pair of Glycerins that make my feet hurt. The support and cushion are gone. Unfortunately, after 8 years of wearing Glycerins, I will have to find another shoe that serves my needs

As other reviewers have already stated, these do not fit like the previous models. I have been wearing glycerins shoes for about 8 years now. This model is narrower than previous models and runs small. At first, I just thought that my feet had grown (which would have been random), but after comparing them to my other glycerins that I have (14, 15, 16), these shoes are indeed different. The entire fit is different. What a disappointing shoe, especially for the price. I will be looking into different shoes, which is such a shame, but these shoes have actually been the cause of some pain I've had during running. Disappointing, Brooks.

I've worn the Glycerin for 5 years. Last model I saw reviews saying they weren't the same but the 16s felt ok to me. I should have paid more attention to the reviews of the 17. I never write reviews, but these are so bad, I hope to save others from the same disappointment I have. I bought the same size I always do and they are terrible. The toe box is smaller or something. When I do heavy cardio, running or HIIT my toes get so painfully numb I had to switch back to my old shoes to workout until I can figure out a new shoe that works for me. PS, I've lost over 100lbs and other shoes feel looser on me, so if anything I expected these might be a little big, instead they feel too small and I don't feel the same support at the front of the shoe as the back. I don't understand why they had to mess with a good thing.

I've purchased glycerins for the last 7 years. I love them and have recommended them to everyone I know. However the new 17's are horrible. The size was suddenly different and the new mesh design doesn't offer the same support. I tried two pairs thinking the first pair were defective but the second pair was exactly the same. I had to return them. Please bring back the old design! These are not worthy of the Brooks name or price

I hate the new Glycerin shoes. I've been wearing brooks glycerin's for over 7 years and this is the worst model. Not supportive at all. The 13 and 14 were great...the 15 they started to be unsupportive and its been downhill from there. So sad I have to find a new model or maybe even a new Brand!

I wish Brooks had simply designed a brand new shoe instead of ruining the Glycerin. I've been a faithful Glycerin purchaser for years. They were the only brand of shoe I would purchase for running. When they released the 16s, I bought them, I tried them, and ultimately had to return them. They were awful in fit and performance. The 17s show they are continuing with the new design. I bought the 17s and again had to return them. The 16s and 17s are terrible for outdoor running. They absorb water like a sponge. The toe box fits differently and is uncomfortable. I've always been able to slip on the Glycerins and start running with no break in time. These caused blisters right away. The arch support is not as good. I find it to be less cushioned when running on pavement. It is all around a much worse shoe. I've accepted that I will now have to switch brands and am beginning my search for a new go-to shoe. If Brooks ever returns to the former design I'll be back, but until then this is simply not a shoe worth this amount of money.

I have been wearing Brooks Glycerins since the Glycerin 9. I usually buy two pair at a time. Until the Glycerin 16, they had consistently been the best fitting and most comfy running shoe for me. The Glycerin 16 ended up in the Saint Vinnie's bag after a month because they were that uncomfortable. Insufficient support all over, particularly midfoot, foot moved around in shoe, insufficient toe protection, ended up with bruising, They felt like bedroom slippers with a running shoe sole. The usual 7.5 B ran very small, particularly in toe box, insufficient cushioning. All around an ill-fitting shoe with no redeeming qualities. At this point, Brooks has lost a previously very loyal and satisfied customer. This is the worst design change in a running shoe I've ever experienced.
