I was concerned from the pictures that the boots would look too bright or flashy. They are actually more subtle in person but still look really sharp. If you normally buy Lucchese leather boots I'd suggest ordering these a half size larger since the alligator is pretty tight. So these fit just like a croc or lizard boot. Really comfortable which is what you'd expect from Lucchese.

Great boot ,Zappos easy to deal with

These boots are incredibly nice! The Alligator is extremely soft. The antique brown color makes the boot look worn in and beautiful. Lucchese is my favorite maker. The Giant Alligator Rio boots are made in U.S.A. at their factory in El Paso, Texas. I love them! What makes me even happier is the price I was able to get them for at Zappos.

Not my color preference

Unfortunately the gator leather was knotted and sharp. In my opinion the grain was unattractive, uneven, and would be difficult to maintain. The upper shaft and sole were excellent, as usual with Lucchese -- I think I just got an unlucky cut of leather. Thankfully, Zappos service is fantastic and a return/exchange was fast and easy.
