10.5 W was the perfect length but the heel was too wide and too shallow. It felt as if the shoe didn't come up high enough on my heel and the heel was so wide my foot slide up and down with each step. I typically wear a 10.5 W in most shoes but these New Balance shoes are much wider than the Brooks Glycerin 16 in an 11 W that fit perfectly.

I've worn New Balance 1080s for years, and ordered my usual size. The overall design is very different. The heel cup is now much more minimal without any cushioning. After just a few minutes of wear with my usual socks, my heels are terribly blistered. The rest of the show fits great and I love the new cushioning in the toe. They are lighter than previous versions, but the hard cardboard-like heel back is brutal.

Really wanted to like these shoes because they had so much cushioning in the soles and I sometimes have issues with my toes getting raw. Unfortunately, the heel cups were so stiff that after a brisk walk, my heels were raw and really hurting. I will be sending them back. I'm going to re-order the Brooks I returned and hope they are better in the heels.

This shoe was very bouncy with excellent cushioning. But if you're concerned about Plantar Fascitis or any heel or foot issues while running, this is not the shoe for you. It is wildly mushy. Very comfy for touring around if your feet or calves don't get tight.

I wanted so badly to like these when I first put them on and felt how pillowy the footbed is. I always wear at least an 8 in running shoes (an 8.5 in Mizunos and an 8 in Asics, for reference) but the 8 in these are too big. I took these for a 5m run for the first time today and ended up with a terrible blister on the inside of one of my heels - likely the result of friction from the heel being a little a tiny bit too wide with minimal padding. The front half of the shoe is also wide on my narrow(ish) foot, but that wasn’t as much of a problem as the heel. I love how these look and how they feel for short outings, but unfortunately I need a running shoe for long runs and these don’t fit the ticket. I’ve read other reviews that mentioned Zappos having a 30 day trial period for running shoes, so I plan to look into that since mine have now been worn.

These shoes were absolutely perfect except for one thing. The way they secure to the ankle is by a molded foam ridge that sticks out and is about a centimeter below the top edge of the shoe. The foam cut in on the insides of my ankles and drove me crazy. I could feel it the whole time walking around. I'm attaching a picture and the pencil shows where the foam ridge is. If only the hard foam wasn't cutting in on both feet I would keep the shoes. They are supportive, comfortable and stylish. I hear that the new version is coming out soon so hopefully they have changed the ankle design.

The perfect walking shoe with one small problem. Hate to return because they are so cushioned. The heal to toe is 8mm, which is perfect for walking, but when you pull out the insole to put in a custom orthotic, the heel sits too high in the shoe. Sadly I'm going with the Brooks Ghost, which is comfortable but not as cushioned.

I found the toe box to be very comfortable BUT the back half of the shoe most uncomfortable. This shoe is supposed to be for Neutral to underpronation (supination) but the back of the heel is rounded off like most shoe but this one is rounded more and it is a little to the out side which makes walking strange and seems to want to have the person wearing them walk to the outside of the shoe which is the opposite of what a shoe for Neutral to underpronation (supination) should do. I liked the shoe but the heel area just didn't work at all. The 1080V8 which I also ordered and received fits wonderful.

I am so disappointed. These shoes are so cool, and I really wanted them to work. For starters, I didn't feel much arch support. I have moderate to high arches, and I definitely did not feel support. I also need a running shoe that has a lot of cushion. I have small feet with minimal "fat pads" on the balls of my feet apparently, and because these said "foam" I figured that meant really cushiony. They're definitely not as cushion as my Asics. Also, the heel on my right foot was slipping out as I was walking around my house. I love the look of these shoes, but sadly I will have to return and keep looking. :(

I have the prior 1080's, which I love. These new ones, as many of the other reviews say, the heel cup is too shallow. There is also less padding around the heel. My heel slipped out even walking about 5 steps in my apartment.

I really like the appearance of these shoes and they felt pretty comfortable when I first tried them on. But when I walked around the house in them to test them out, I realized the foam ridge around the inside of the heel hit my foot in a weird, uncomfortable spot. I can only imagine the blisters I’d get! Sadly, returning.

The overall fit was fine, the comfort was not. The heel of the shoe is super stiff and was uncomfortable against my heel. The top of the shoe is flimsy and thin. Not impressed and I am a loyal purchaser of NB. Will be returning.

I tried 2 pairs. They are very comfortable, but within weeks, both pairs developed holes in mesh upper. Terrible choice of material. Very high price for a shoe that looks good for 2 weeks. They are now too embarrassing to be seen in.

I thought I would give these shoes a try for the foam insoles. I was hoping that it would give me just the right support for my plantar fasciitis. Unfortunately, only after wearing the shoes for two 12-hour shifts, my feet were aching and burning. After my first shift, my feet were aching a little, so I tried the next shift with my plantar fasciitis insoles and it was worse.

This is an updated review; I bought the shoes in March of 2019 and wore them moderately...maybe once a week, as the style was too casual for me to wear them to work. I wore them about three of ten days on a trip to Israel at the end of May, where they were great, loved the comfort...and then a couple of days out of our week at Disneyworld in September. On the way home from the Disney trip, I noticed my big toe on the right shoe had poked right through the foamy mesh fabric. Now, I'd had them about six months, and if I had worn them regularly in that time I wouldn't think anything about it. But I didn't wear them that much; in fact, the sole shows no wear yet. But for the full price of $160+ with tax, I certainly expected a longer life from the shoe. I've actually thought about darning the toe of the shoe, just to get more wear from it.... The shoes were great while they lasted.

These shoes fit as expected, but they have a stiff support in the heel that rubbed even though I had plenty of length in the shoe. I couldn't even walk comfortably around the house. I don't typically have trouble with shoes fitting, so I'm not sure what happened there. I used to live in New Balance and still have an old pair that fit beautifully, though they are completely worn out. Unfortunately I've had to return the last two pairs I've tried.

I would have kept these, but the new unpadded heel rim is cut in too tight. I am not willing to get blisters on the back of my ankles. The 608v5 I ordered last year was perfect and I hoped to just replace them, but not available through Zappos. I ordered the 608v6 though Zappos but it's a really cheap version and cut poorly. Guess who had the 608v5?

I really wanted this shoe to work but walking in it felt like I was stomping a bit. With so much cushion, it was the least softest shoe I've tried yet. The shoe is light but I did my usual walk around the neighborhood and couldn't wait to take these off-after 20 minutes my toes were numb, the back rubbed my ankle, and I felt like I just clomped along slower than I wanted to. Tried running, but didn't like the feel either. The design was cute enough (black). I've been a nike pegasus girl, until the last 2 versions became less supportive. Going to get Adidas Ultra Boost-I know they work for long walking.

Not comfortable to wear with my bunion. I could see the bunion sticking out through the mesh. It was just too tight. My normal New Balance Size is a 10 wide. Had to be returned. Disappointed with this style. This is really for someone without any foot issues.

I have been wearing New Balance 1080 for many years. I wear a custom orthodic inside the shoe and it has been perfect every time, until version 9. This new version has changed the heal of the shoe. They have put an elasticized fabric at the heal, which pushes my foot forward into the shoe as I walk. This causes my orthodic to be misaligned. After wearing this version for a few days, I began to experience knee pain caused by the misaligned orthodic. The version/size seems too wide at the heal, and just doesn't fit as well as other versions. I hope they go back to their original heal fabric or I will need to find a different shoe.

Don’t buy these for running. These shoes were great cushioned running shoes for years, but as others have said, the heel redesign is an unnecessary disaster. Padding has been shifted downward, with a thin fabric around the top, accomplishing nothing but heel slippage and pressure in exactly the wrong place. Not sure how NB biffed it so badly here. Where was the design done? Who approved it? Hello?

I put 225 miles on these and they’re completely worn through. Not worth the money if you’re a serious runner. I can get ~350 miles out of my sauconys. They were comfortable while they lasted, but they didn’t last long.

Loved everything about this show until O got to mile 5. I can’t remember the last time I got heel blisters from running shoes and new with New Balance. When I got home and took the shoes off I noticed that the Inside heels have ridges. Interesting as none of my other running shoes have this. I was grateful Zappos has a 30 trial with running shoe so I was able to return them. I really liked them otherwise.
