I overpronate (a lot!). Have bunion on right foot. I needed a pair for the extensive walking we do on summer vacations. These fit from the minute I put them on. I ordered wide (always), in both usual size and 1/2 size larger. They both fit great, kept the 1/2 size larger, since feet tend to get hot and expand during the summer. If they slip a little, will use the lace lock to secure...but don't think will need. They are extremely light, which really helps when you are walking 3-5 miles at a time. I like that there is mostly nylon around the toe box..keeps it lightweight and airy. I have ordered at least 6 different styles from Zappos, including the Brooks Adrenaline GTS (very tight toe box). These are the best fit yet. Zappos is great..can order and return until I find the perfect fit..

Let me start by saying that I have very, very picky feet. Scarred by 3 surgeries, very high arches and insteps. I need a ton of cushioning, ample toe box, and snug fit around my narrow heels. A hard combo to find, I assure you. I recently ordered 8 pairs of athletic shoes from Zappos, hoping against hope that at least one would fit the bill. Well one did. The Rubix! Initially, I ordered a half size larger than my normal shoes size (as I always do with running shoes). Of the 8 pairs I tried, the Rubix ran a little long and the heel slipped. So I returned them for my normal size in wide, and that one worked. What I like: It's a nice looking shoe. I tired both colors and liked them both, but ended up with the black. This shoe has the most underfoot cushion of all the other NB shoes I tried. I feel it was a bit narrow for a wide, so be advised that the wide is not that wide. I agree with the others that say Rubix has a tight fit. But the toe box is ample for my needs nonetheless. The cushioning seems to be concentrated in the forefoot, with less in the heel. The heel doesn't slip in my normal size, which is a minor miracle for me. It's a supportive shoe and can feel it holding up to the over-pronation that I suffer with, so that's good. What is really different in this shoe, that none of the others had, is the attached tongue. Rather, it's more like the sides of the tongue is attached to a stretching strip of fabric on either side of the mid-foot that runs down to the sole of the shoe. It really holds the mid foot nice and snug inside the shoe. I have never seen this design before. At first it felt like the it was too snug across my instep, but as I wore it more, I began to get used to the snug feeling and then became kind of comforting. The upper fabric is very sheer which enhances air circulation, but would be miserable on a damp day as I can see it getting immediately soaked to the sole. If your big toe tends to rub the upper, I could see a hole forming pretty quickly. I wont be wearing them out in the rain, and my toes lay flat, so these are not issues for me. The Rubix were the most expensive pair by far that I tried (of course), which were several pairs of NB and Hokas. So the cost may be prohibitive for some folks. But in this case, I DID get what I paid for. A well-built and stylish pair of running shoes for my very difficult-to-please feet. So, my long, arduous search for the right pair of shoes is now over! Rubix it is! I'm thankful to Zappos for their wonderful customer support and return policy that really helps people like me who can't just walk into a local brick and mortar store, and walk out minutes later with the perfect shoes. Those days are over for me, unfortunately. My feet now hold me hostage, so what can I do?! You should give the Rubix a try. They are a unique shoe that you may just love!

At first I thought these were very good shoes for me but after wearing for a few times, mostly at the gym, I realize they are really hurting my lower back and they do not have enough stability. I wrote a very positive review but now I have completely changed my mind. I put on other shoes and my back almost immediately stopped hurting. So disappointing. Really overpriced!

These shoes are so so stylish - I SO wanted to keep them, but they ended up going back after 2 days of agony and undeniable pain. I was surprised: for a shoe that's meant to be for overpronators (i.e. me), there was a LOT of arch support. Most overpronators have flat feet, and so I expected there to be minimal arch support there, but, there was actually a moderate amount - which caused me significant amount of pain both during walks and runs. I had hoped I was just breaking them in, but when I really took a good look at the footbed, I realised how much of an arch these had. Back they went :(

Beautiful pair of shoes. But even though I ordered a wide shoe, it didn't feel like it. The base of the shoe cupped my foot and the sides of the shoe were tighter (thick?) than I expected.

OMG! Hands down the best stability sneakers ever made! The first thing I noticed was how light they are. They aren’t heavy, clunky, or orthopedic old lady looking. As for the foot stability, you can really FEEL it. I used stability ASICS for some time and I didn’t feel any foot correction, I just took it on faith it was working. I can feel how this show does not allow my heel to drop inward , and my hips feel less pain. I want more colors (NOT pink or baby blue or some other pastel crap) because I am hooked!

I ordered many different brands of running shoes all at one time with Zappos.. this was the keeper. I have flat feet with a decent bunion on my left foot, so I need a wide toe box. These did not rub on my bunion and as usual the toe box is wide enough with New Balance shoes. I wear custom insoles so I am always removing all the great padding from my sneakers. I will say that so far these feel the most cushioned considering the removal of the supplied insole. I have tried so many brands and I am happy to find a pair that finally fits. Are they perfect? No. There are only two color choices and the price is pretty ridiculous. There is no reason that these have to be $35 more than high end Asics or Brooks shoes. I am desperate and so I am keeping these. I would be happier for a choice of color at least for this price but I am held hostage by my bad feet. If you have foot problems like mine, I think this could be your shoe. I will also say that they are much more attractive than the other New Balance shoes I have had in the past. I wear 8 1/2 and these are very true to size with no need to go up or down in size. I also ordered the wide but the B width was wide enough for my bunion.

I have weird feet, bunions and narrow heel. New Balance fit me for many years but something has changed. The soles of their shoes are hard as a rock, the insole has very little padding and the soles are stiff and inflexible. This shoe is better than the others I have purchased, but it has a n odd ridge that goes around the edge of the insole. My sensitive feet said no way:(

These sneakers took a few days to break in, but overall they are comfortable enough to take a three mile walk (almost daily) in. I have not had the opportunity to test them for 5+ hours of standing at work without a break (as work hasn't scheduled me since the COVID-19 shutdown). Unfortunately, after just 2 1/2 months of wear, these are almost worn out. The soles look more worn than the NB Fresh Foam Vongo 3s that I wore daily from mid-October through mid-March. The interior support has also worn out and I am getting arch pain if I wear them on a walk, and I have never had arch pain before except with worn out sneakers. (I cured it temporarily by switching back to the Vongo 3s.) I regret that they wore out so quickly because I really liked the gray color and how it coordinated with both light and dark colors.

These shoes were not for me. The soles felt stiff and hard. They even made a thump sound on the sidewalk with each step....like wearing a heavy boot. But the shoe is not heavy. I tried them for a week thinking they would soften but they did not.

Toe box was much smaller than normal for new balance. Width was alittle smaller than normal for new balance fit. Just not a comfortable fit.

I ordered a smaller size to check whether the 9B was too large. 8.5B turned out to be too small. I love the shoe so much I am keeping the 9B and ordered two more just like it so that I can have this style for many months/years (?) to come.

I’m going to order a half size smaller to determine if that fits better. I do love the shoe and want to make sure it is the right size for me.

I ordered 4 pairs of New Balance shoes to try out....these were hands down the best fit. Really comfortable, wide (as ordered) and nothing on the inside by the outside toe to irritate my foot. I like them so much I am going to order a second pair in case New Balance discontinues them!

I have been looking for a new trail shoe and I need a wide toebox because of arthritis in my big toe. Thank you Zappos for your generous return policy! These fit me perfect. I can't wait to try them out on a trail. The bottom seems smoother than what I usually wear so we'll see how they do on the trails. They are pretty, the top of the shoe is mesh so they are very comfortable.

The Wide is not a true wide. The design on the outside restricts the widest part of your feet. When you take a step, your foot bones expand outward, and then these pinch. Returned for that reason, these had no flexibility where it’s needed most. Good styling, removable food bed (didn’t try on the shoe with the foam footbed, had my own insert). I wish it would have worked, loved the attached tongue.

I like the colors, not too flashy, more conservative. I had to send back and get half size bigger. they feel snug on my feet which I like. the stretch piece on inside hugs the foot so it won't slip. The outside of shoe is very soft and stretchy. This shoe is more comfortable than the usual material tennis shoes are made of. And has nice arch support. I have problem feet as I get older. New Balance is always the shoe I come back to. Zappos customer service is the best, and fast.

These are very comfortable shoes on my feet. Good stability and cushion in a shoe with 8mm heel to toe drop. I am happy with these shoes except for the high price. They do seem considerably overpriced to me, but they are working out, so no more complaints.

The shoes fit fine. I usually take a 6.5, so they were true to size. Due to my plantar fasciitis they hurt my feet especially the heels. Too bad, I really liked the way they look. They were just too flat and too hard even with my usual insole.
