Great product, comfortable on the back, great price for value, lots of places to attach things like carabiners, helmets, water bottles, sturdy. Keep it close, my family has had to buy 4 since we all kept stealing the only one!

It's a gift for my wife. The Daylite looks great, is lightweight, has good space for ocassional hiking and perfect to be a secondary backpack for camping for us (small stuff).
Pretty good constructed. That's what we need in our location.

I purchased this bag earlier this week after being on the lookout for one for awhile. I found it small at the start but there is lots of room for a jacket, drinks, and lots more.

Osprey nails all the details in this simple daypack. I've used one of these for the past decade or so - hiking, biking, trail work days, outdoor concerts, travel, and days at the park with kids. Love the simple, functional design - very comfortable carry, great zippered pockets, good weight and capacity for day use, and pretty durable. I also like the fact the hydration reservior is not in the main compartment with my gear - protects against leaks and leeaves more room for gear in the main compartment. Highly recommended!

The backpack is great for my use--short walk to work. I do have to say that I ordered the Stone Grey, but to me it looks more like a shade of green. The color is hard to distinguish online, so I'm not sure if they sent me the wrong color. Does anyone else think the Stone Grey looks like a shade of green?

I have had this pack for about 5 years now and I absolutely love it. Works great for everything from short day hikes, to traveling, exploring various sites and musuems. Allows me to carry some snacks, binoculars, clothes, various gear for camping and hiking, whatever I may need for whatever adventure I go out that day for. I have also used it for cycling to carry a change of clothes, extra water, food, misc. gear. This is the perfect goto bag for doing whatever. not bulky, not heavy, super durable and incredibly comfortable even when completely stuffed with gear. easy to adjust so if your in a t shirt or a bulky jacket in seconds its fitting securely and comfortably. The side pockets for water bottles work great , have used bottles as simple as store bought plastic water bottles( Poland spring , etc. ) to 20oz insulated kleen canteen bottles with no worries.

This bag is great for what it was designed for! I dont understand the negative reviews. This is an add-on bag that attaches to a main backpack. It carries a hydration bladder perfectly. Those are not water bottle holders on the outside - they are meant to stash small items you need access throughout the day - like snacks or a bandana. It's lightweight and rugged. I've used mine a lot for over 2 years and it still looks like new. I wear it daily during summer as a daypack (I'm a summer camp director) and 2-3 weekends a month it goes camping with me (Boy Scout and Girl Scout camping trips - about half of those it's used as the added on bag it was made to be).
I love the small pocket on front because small stuff like knife, lighter, and headlamp don't get lost amid other things and can be retrieved quickly.

I am a guide and have used this pack every day for 2 years. It's fantastic! It holds all the essentials I need for a day at work and fits comfortably on my back and shoulders. I can easily fit a .75L or a 1L CamelBak bottle in the side pockets easily without them sliding out. My biggest disappointment about my pack is that after 2 years of constant use it has faded slightly...but I guess that's understandable with the hours it's spent in the sun.

This is a fabulous day pack for travel or around town. I use this pack as a companion piece to my Osprey 46L which I can attach it to. I also use the Daylite for hydration which is perfect for treks. If you are looking for something that you can stuff android to the "gills" this is not the pack for you. I am a minimalist and for scooting out and about during the day when traveling thru cities and local areas it works perfectly. This pack is not designed for long term, high volume packing inside. You want an say on the go day pack - go for this one!

I have the Daylight Plus, and it's a great daypack. Just want to ditto the comments about the web pockets being inadequate for water bottles, though I now carry a 70 oz. Camelbak hydration reservoir which it accommodates very nicely.

I initially bought this pack prior to embarking on a larger thru-hike with side tracks that would only require a smaller pack. It was ideal for the job as it piggy-backed my Aether 70 thanks to Osprey's design team who included an attachment loop system in the 70. Now off the track, I find myself using the Day Lite for day-to-day activities, leaving my pockets clear and me hands-free. Its functionality is great and is very good value for money.

I've had this pack for about 3 years now and it is my absolute favorite. Whether I am going to work or out hiking, this is the pack that I use. When I hike, it's usually for a long day and I typically bring some cooking gear and my hammock. This pack is able to fit it all while still being a lightweight bag and relatively small. This pack is big enough to fit my laptop in the sleeve as well.
The only thing that I do not like about it is how small the side mesh pockets get when the bag is close to full capacity. if I have larger items in the pack, I can't quite fit my 1L Nalgene in the pocket. But the fix to that is to clip it into the compression strap and then I'll never lose it.
Overall, this is an ideal pack for anyone who needs that everyday companion.

I am an adventure guide with a company called Vestigo. I use this pack on all my day hikes. It hold everything I need it to with some room to spare. I usually pack about 9-10lbs and it holds the weight so well. I never feel a strain on my shoulders.

I originally bought this pack because it was small enough to be a carry on for the plane. I've had it about a year now, its been with me hiking though mountains, the desert, and the ocean. It's my go to pack for birdwatching and day hikes. I am also pleased with the fit/adjustability I am 5'3 and plus size. Materials are durable and the pack is super well made.

Needed a small daypack with hip/chest straps & reservoir compatibility; this fit the bill at a decent price. It has definitely served that purpose, but I find that the construction of the bag's outer pocket leads to an awkward void of space in the middle of the bag that I can never seem to fill! It's as if there's a weird constriction right around the center of the bag. While it can fit A LOT (two laptops, two jackets, pound of beef jerky & bars, ...), I can't seem to figure out a way to pack it so that I maximize all the useable space.

I just picked up my Osprey Day Pack and put it to use on it's first adventure. I really like the color scheme. The quality of material is great I really like the key holder inside the bag, the straps, and the back padding are great and super comfortable. There was a couple of cons. The first is that there are alot of straps and there really long but that's just my take on it. The other is the zipper tab I feel like it should be made of more sturdy material or thicker and it would also be nice to tuck away the zipper tabs so there not out in the open. The size was also a bit bigger than I thought but that's a personal preference but, overall it is a good quality bag that I've been wanting to buy for a couple years after using it on a trek in Cinque Terre, Italy when a friend let me borrow it and I feel in love with it it was so comfortable and quality of the bag is great but overall I'm super excited to take with me on many more adventures to come.

I've had this pack for a little over a year. I purchased it specifically for short, close-in hikes and jaunts with my kids. It has worked marvelously and as I've adjusted my gear for all-day hikes, I've been choosing the Daylight more and more (as opposed to my Sirrus 24).
Unfortunately, like others have pointed out, the side pockets are of poor design. Doesn't matter if it's my Nalgene bottle, my Contigo, or my trusty Stanley coffee cup, nothing stays. Sure, I can use the straps to hold it in, but then I can't access my water on the go without my hydration pouch, which is overkill for my original purpose.
I do wish this had the stow on the go trekking pole loops.
Still, I do love it as a whole.

I have had this bag for about 4 years and it has held up great, no problems at all. It is super versatile and light weight. I use it for day hikes, traveling through the airport, and as my bag for school and work. I am always on the go with my job and this bag has been through everything and is still in great condition. My only complaints are that the handle on the top of the bag is a little high and was initially irritating to the back of my neck when I got the bag but it no longer bothers me. The side pockets absolutely do nothing to hold your drinks in. The only bottle that fits is a 40 oz hydro flask b/c the strap keeps it in.

I have an old Manta 25, (size M/L) which I love. My best friend and constant hiking companion wanted a smaller pack than she already had, to use on short, local hikes. I bought her the Daylight and she loved it so much that she used it on larger hikes as well. She died suddenly in June and I "inherited"it back from her.
I find this pack to be somewhat uncomfortable. It just feels too small for my body. I can never get it adjusted quite right. I use it for short, local hikes, so that doesn't matter too much. But I wouldn't recommend it for anyone over 5ft 5 inches or of substantial body mass.
Otherwise, it's a wonderful little pack, well designed and great for use with a hydration bladder.

I've been using this product for city life and eventual hiking in weekends. It is very comfortable, and easy to adjust. I like the front wish mesh as well as the back part where I can use the hydration system. When empty, I can easily put it inside of a bigger backpack, very useful for me in long journeys. I even carry my 13'' laptop inside of it.

I bought the Daylite about 2-1/2 years ago. I've drugged this bag all over US and Europe. I treat it as my man-purse on travel days, easy grab items on planes - water bottle, book, light jacket, etc.
I used this bag for day sightseeing trips throughout Europe and US, in all weather conditions. Enough space for light jacket, camera, snacks, water bottle, and other small items. During winter, it keeps my camera other gear dry.
Side pockets do not have any elastic banding, to help hold in water bottles and travel mugs. My water has a lanyard to hold keep the cap attached, so I thread the buckle strap through to keep the water bottle tethered to my bag. My travel mug sometimes jumps out when I put the bag in airplane overhead bins. Adding elastic to side pockets may be easy, but I'm not good with sewing beyond reattaching shirt buttons.

First I will start the review by telling people to ignore a lot of the bad reviews on here.
All those people complaining about water bottles falling out the side pockets bought the wrong bag. They are not water bottle pockets. This is a hydration day pack designed to attach to your main pack.
If you are not going to use a hydration bladder then buy a bag with side pockets designed for water bottles.
Bought an osprey 2.5 LT bladder and it fits perfectly in my main pack and this.
My only minor complaint is the hip belt could be a bit bigger but if you use it how it is intended then it is fine.
If you want a nice lightweight bag that can attach to you main pack and intend to use a bladder then buy this pack.
If you want something with more features then buy a talon or tempest.

The Osprey Daylite Daypack is a pretty good backpack, but it could be better. Here is how; The webbing type material on the inside of the shoulder straps while probably used for good intentions; like stability during movement or something, destroyed the shoulders on my Exofficio waterproof light travel jacket. It seems to have roughed up the exterior shoulder area. The material is now frayed and looks like I'd had the jacket for multiple trips. I only used that jacket, with the backpack on a single 2.5 week trip. I maybe used the backpack every other day on that trip while walking about. I still love the backpack for what else it is designed for but you should probably remove that grid/mesh material in future builds. I will modify the pack that I have to this doesn't happen to any other expensive travel jackets.
