For the past ten years I've been strictly a Birkenstock, Dansko, Hoka hoka wearer because my feet get sore on the bottom, swell, and I have high arches. I was nervous about switching brands but these are far and away my favorite shoes now, to the point that I panicked when they were out of stock quickly after I bought them. They are so padded and comfy. The tread has not worn out quickly. And the black color is deep and isn't fading or scratching off. Not cheap but so worth it.

I own two pairs of Taos sneakers - one high top and one low top. I wear them so much, I'm starting to wear through the sole of the low tops, so I decided to get another couple pairs for this summer. The black high tops are THE BEST! The number one reason I love them is the zipper. I have mobility challenges, so tying my shoes can sometimes take a while. Usually, I just slip into my shoes, but that destroys the back. And there's no way to do that in a high top! These were perfect - I wore them for three days straight in April. I attended events, did a fundraising walk in Central Park in them, and had no foot pain. That's saying a lot given how bad my feet cramp up sometimes. Dear Taos - please add zippers to all of your high top sneakers! And maybe your low tops, too! That's all I would ever wear!

First, these run small. I fit a full size bigger than I often wear, and a half size bigger than I've ever worn, and the laces are still done up fairly loose. Second, they have *crazy* arch support. I have very high arches, and the arch support on these is almost too high. Be aware. Third, the picture is a little misleading, but the zipper is on the *outside* of the shoe, so more visible than it might be. Not my favorite stylistic choice, but not a deal breaker. Nice, soft sturdy leather, they feel good quality, and that they will be warm (for sneakers - I wouldn't use them as snow boots) for the winter.

All the five star reviews are justified! Super comfortable high top sneakers with soft, almost buttery, leather and good arch support (Taos- you are the best in that department!). And the side zip is fantastic! Much better than trying to get into laced-up high tops. Super cute styling.

I love Taos tennis shoes. I have a pair of low cut ones and like them so much, but when I saw these high tops...had to have them. They are so comfy and have a good enough arch support that I don't have to wear my orthotics. I am retired and wear straight leg jeans nearly exclusively. These high tops work perfectly with my jeans. I love them!

Being used to flat-bottomed converse (and having high arches), I love the great arch support in this shoe. I'm majorly turned off by any bad fit issues - rubbing from interior seams, stiff sections that don't flex with the ankle in a high top, cramped toes - and there is absolutely no issue with these. They immediately molded to my feet and I'm comfortable walking miles in them, even without socks. The leather is soft, and they're cute enough that my super stylish friends have asked where I got them. My work is pretty casual so I can get away with wearing these with slacks during the week, or with a casual dress or shorts on the weekend. New favorite!

The size was a little tight, but half size up would have been to big. The toes portion of the shoe was hard, which made them harder to adjust to. I LOVE the look of the shoe but I definitely would not buy this brand again. My preference is Ugg, but I the reviews were good in this shoe so I took a chance.

The leather quality is great, nice and soft to the touch. I wear a 7 - 7.5 size. Got a size 7 and they are just right, a 7.5 would have been fine too. I have a slightly wider foot and these fit fine once you adjust the laces from shipment. They look stylish and trendy without the bulk or flash. Super happy with the purchase.

I purchased this shoe in two sizes 8 and 8.5. I normally wear an 8 in most shoe styles but have ordered and 8.5 in other Taos shoes and athletic shoes. I was concerned that I would not be able to wear this shoe with a light weight sock for the winter. I ended up keeping the 8 and I have to say they are very comfortable the first few times wearing them. Lets see what happens with a full day of use. The shoes are darling - even my youngest daughter was impressed with the style. I hope to pick up another color if the shoes are as comfortable as I think they will be.

I hesitated to buy these shoes because of the price, but I love Taos shoes because of their arch support and style. I finally splurged and went for these shoes, and I have no regrets! The leather is really nice quality, and the zippers are nice. These shoes almost look like boots. The leather is a little stiff so will take a bit to break in I think. Still, the shoes are comfy and warm for winter. They look neat, so I can wear them to work.

I really liked the look of these, but they were extremely narrow, and my feel aren't that wide. The toe box is also pretty tight. There seems to be good arch support in the form of an attached insert of sorts, but I found that to be not very comfortable. Sadly, have to return these

These are so cute and comfortable! The have a little/moderate arch support. I’m usually between 8 1/2 - 9 depending on the type of shoe. I take a 9 in these without wearing socks. My feet are normal to slightly wide due to arthritis in my toes. If you have very wide feet, you will likely have a problem with these but they are fine for me. In general, if you are between sizes, you might go with the bigger size.

I ordered a half size up to accommodate my orthotics. I was more comfortable without them. The arch support was excellent. I have flat feet. Others commented that these shoes were good for people with high arches. Just know they are great for me and very comfortable. I wear a size 9 and some shoes make my feet look big. These don’t so that makes me happy too. The zipper works better if you squeeze it together a bit. It’s a nice feature for easy on and off.

This shoe represents the best of two worlds: Comfort and Style! The arch support is fantastic, the entire footbed is a marvel...Taos is one of the only shoe manufacturers out there doing a metatarsal arch. They’re also super stylish. I’ve decided that I’m OVER the boots and skinny jeans look...and these shoes are part of an updated look for me which includes oxfords, shooties, and these! I wear an 8 in running shoes but a 7.5 in average shoes...and a 7 in dress/sandals. These were spot on at 7.5.

LOVE these. They fit true to size, and the arch support is amazing (i wasn't expecting any, and I have high arches). Love the easy zip feature for quick on and off, but love the look of the laces. I'm normally a 7.5 and these fit perfectly - I got the 8 as well just to check but went with my normal size.

OBSESSED. I was afraid the pewter/charcoal color would be a shiny silver that looked tacky, and it's NOT at all! It's more of a matte dark gray and doesn't look cheap at all. These are also SUPER comfy and well-padded for my picky high arches and bunions! LOVE the zippers too (inside would be better, but hey, outside is better than no zip). I can't wait to rock these with skinny black jeans and skirts! I also have a comfy, cute pair of Taos boots and they're quickly winning over a customer for life!

This shoe manages to pair contemporary high-top sneaker style with the slightly elevated heel cup and strong arch support required for problem feet. I was astonished by how supportive these are--and they look fantastic with jeans. My only disappointment is the stiffness of the leather over the toe. They are exactly the right size, but my big toe is getting a bit too much contact from the top of the shoe. These do not have the feel of a soft, cushy running shoe, for sure—the firm leather feels pretty much like the Crave boot (also from Taos). That said, there was no soreness after a long walk. These are a win.

The shoes are true to size. They have a nice arch support which was very important to me. The side zipper is great for easy wear. The shoes do not need to be re laced. I do a lot of walking my dogs in these shoes and they are comfortable. I can go thru wet grass and stay dry.The more I wear them the more comfortable they get. I am pleased!

I bought the brown in this shoe, and loved them so much that I had to get the black, too! I have high arches and liked the fact the footbed was removable...turns out the arches are great for my arches. That being said, since I usually have to put in high arch insoles, I am not sure how the arch would be for someone who is more flat footed.

These are very cool looking and feel comfy! Unfortunately the toe area feels a tad too tight/narrow for me, (only on my right foot which is slightly larger than my left) when compared to a similar shoe in Ugg brand. I went with the Uggs but also decided i wanted the regular shoes and not the high-tops.

i was really torn between these and the "winner" style, and they do look very similar side by side. this style had a thinner sole. really good looking sneaker bootie.

Great so far! I was worried about the zipper and the toe squish some people had talked about, but after a few days I’ve figured out how great these are! Zippers: I had a hard time zipping them the second time I tried. Then I realized that getting the layers in order makes them zip perfectly every time. Tongue goes closest to skin, then the thin leather strip on the outside zipper edge (right side in the picture shown), then laces side zipper layer. Toe squish: These fit closely like my other pair of Taos, but like the other pair, they’re like a glove! The toes of one foot felt squished every time they bent (which was every step), but I loosened the laces and my toes aren’t squished anymore! Instep/arch: I have an instep that would rival Cinderella’s wicked step-sister and have no problem with these. I have fairly high arches and find these have great support. I’ve been standing/walking/teaching on them for hours on end and they’re great so far.

Perfect in every way! I pretty much love the way these shoes feel, fit and look. Gorgeous leather and great shape. My feet sing when I put these on. The grey color is stunning - my second pair - a love affair!

These are the most comfortable sneakers I own! There's also pretty stylish too - I've worn them a lot and they remain just as comfortable. The only issue I have is that the label is peeling off a bit on the back. I've had them about a year and only wore them during the winter months.
