I haven't even worn out the first pair of Nike Odyssey React Shield but I like them so much I decided to buy a second pair (on sale!) to save for when these bite the dust. Crazy, maybe, but we all know how we wish we would have bought a duplicate and then when we're ready they're long gone. I live in Denver and do a lot of urban hiking. When the sidewalks/ paths, pavement are fairly dry and I don't want a heavy snow boot but the temps are frigid I need an athletic/walking shoe that is more resistant to the elements than so many of the lighter, meshy/knit athletic/athleisure shoes. This one fit the bill nicely, being more closed in. I won't say they're waterproof but certainly water resistant, and because they're not super breathable (but way fine for me/this purpose) they also keep my feet from freezing. For my high arch foot the arch support is wonderful and the shoe is a nice ride, just cushy enough for my multi-mile walks. Oh and they're cute and stylish-- not clunky like so many "walking shoes." The design and color combo is a classy gray and black color--such a welcome relief for those of us not looking for screamin' neon colors. Overall, can you tell I like them? :-)

I got these on Friday and have been wearing it over the weekend. First day it felt weird, needed to get comfortable in it. Thus far I like it, feels secure and seems like it stays true to its purpose when it comes to water resistant. Would recommend to try.

These Nike running shoes are very cushiony and comfortable. More like a walking shoe than a running shoe, but the water-resistant upper was a huge plus. Unfortunately, they don't stay laced tightly due to the toggle/cord lacing system so I am returning them. Thanks Zappos, for allowing runners to test drive their shoes!

Fantastic waterproof shoes! Nike has done it again. I am a 7.5 in Nike and 7.5 fit perfectly. I wore then around a very wet and cold Portland for a long weekend and they did not disappoint. Event went on a muddy hike in the woods and they did me proud. My only minor gripe is that the alternative pull close style rather than standard shoe laces are made for people with really fat feet. I have extremely thin feet and I had to come up with creative ways to tuck and secure the extremely LONG pull ties. Other than that, AMAZING. LOVE!

These shoes are so comfortable and fit great once you get the correct size. They run small. I wear a 6.5 in all shoes except athletic shoes which I wear a 7. So I ordered the 7, but the arch was in the wrong place and they felt a bit short. I ordered the 7.5 and they fit perfect. I read that some people have problems with the fastener. That has not been the case for me. The fastener stays snug. I live in the Pacific Northwest and these shoes have great traction on wet sidewalks and streets. Hope this helps in choosing your shoe.

Love these shoes for walking on pavement, sidewalks, even trails. Initially, I ordered my usual size 7 but they were too small. Sent them back and replaced with a 7.5 and they fit perfectly! Thank you Zappos for making exchanges sooooo easy!!

Very comfortable and stylish! I wear a size 10, but they look smaller. Love the “drawstring” no tie feature. Has a cute clip for the laces. Good cushion in the shoe.

I am a walker (not a runner) with Past foot injuries. These shoes are extremely comfortable. They do start with a snug fit, but They did break in pretty fast for a more molded fit. They have excellent traction in the rain and the water resistance is very good—so good that when I wore them to my son’s game where it unexpectedly poured buckets of rain..my socks were dry. The laces hold well, but were better once I unhooked them from the top.

I, unfortunately, had to return the shoe. The toggle lace is not comfortable with my high instep.

These shoes were too small both in length and width. They felt very tight, but I have a feeling they would stretch out if given the chance. I also purchased the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 Shield which look very similar - I found them to be much more comfortable. Also, the front of these shoes are angled down a bit, instead or straight out which affects the feeling of support in the front of the shoe.

The lacing system was too stiff/heavy on my high instep.
