As always, a great gaiter provided by OR - solid construction, sturdy, and gets the job done. The reason I give this 3 stars is because the Women's version of the Crocodile is too short - it goes only up to mid-calf, which is not only tall enough in many cases for mountaineering, but also slides down easily because of where it sits on the calf. I ordered a Men's Small Crocodile and it's WAY better. The Men's version sits right below my knee/above my calf. Because I use these for intense mountaineering adventures, I need solid coverage, and the women's version is way too short for this.

best gaiter on market and been using them since first sold. The addition of the bottom tab to more firmly seal the vertical velco is NOT necessary and rather cumbersome.

Finally ponied up the cash for crocodile gaiters for my wife and me. Always heard they were the "gold standard". Buckle broke on mine during first hike. Was lucky enough to replace them at the store I bought them at since I noticed it immediately. My wife had hers break on the same hike (her 4th hike in them) but we didn't notice it until she went to use them again months later. OR warranty requires us to pay for shipping even though they said there's a known QC problem with the buckles. I'll eat the shipping costs and send them back, get her credit, and never ever buy their products again since this is how they "back" them. I would understand if they were even moderately used but we're talking about 2 pairs of gaiters both having buckles break in 1 and 4 hikes! So much for "gold standard" and backing a product.

Theses are truly the best! My husband and I are avid back country hunters and have put them to the test! They are comfortable and durable. I have tracked through knee high snow and my gators kept my boots and calves dry. My strap Velcro came un done but the company was diligent and easy to get a replacement. Highly recommended.

Just bought a replacement for the same pair I've had for years which I lost. I wore them when I climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. I wear them when I snowshoe, climb, hike. They are very very sturdy and last forever. Super water proof and will resist even scuffs from crampons. Great product.

I've been using these gaiters to hike in the snow on warmer winter days. I get too hot wearing snow or shell pants but still don't want to get snow in my boots and these gaiters fixed that problem for me. They are waterproof and durable.

Bought small women's. I wear a 7.5 to 8 shoe, 5.5, 135 lb, athletic calves. These fir very well for me. Used them cross country skiing, and they keep feet dry. I personally don't like Velcro since it will destroy certain other clothing items that might come into contact with it, but they do seal really well and stay sealed.

Just tried then on over the pants I plan on wearing them with. Very easy to adjust & put on. Haven't used them yet as the weather is roasting at the moment. I'm hoping to enjoy them when I put them to the test this winter!

I got these gaiters for mountaineering WA peaks. They've held up perfectly for climbs such as Rainier, Baker, Adams, etc. The only downfall is they are easier to puncture with crampons but that might also just be crampon error on my end.

These are the best weatherproof gaiters around and great in cold weather. They are durable, and completely waterproof against wet snow and rain. The cinch buckle works well to hold them in place. One tip for fit: I wear a size 8.5 US women's boot and size down to get a good fit from these gaiters if you do not have a larger circumference leg.

Wow! Great Gaiters! Perfect fit by using the sizing guide, and they keep my lower leg hi and dri and are great as spats for my boots. I love them, and they work on the farm here very well. Many thanks Bean!!!

I bought these last spring after going through another winter of always having snow in my boots. They've been great for winter hikes and held up really well to the brambles I often end up having to walk through.

Used these for snow hikes in my pair and my wife loved hers too. Comfy and really great for nasty weather hiking/light mountaineering.

These are the first gators I have owned. I waited too long to start using this type of gear. I love the versatility. I've used them for cross country skiing, hiking, spring road biking. I have discovered other uses too. Like extra protection for my legs when I get chased by dogs on my bike.

Loved this product. Went hiking this winter with no concerns of slipping or foot placement. It made hiking so much more fun. I can't wait to see how well they will work this spring in the mud. I bought a small and my shoe size is 7.5-8. Easy to put on and off! I will always own a pair.

I have never seen such strong Velcro in any product that I have bought or made myself. There is no way that these gaiters are going to come loose while you are out hiking. I actually have to really tug on them to separate the two sides to take them off, but I consider that a good thing. My calves are 15 1/2 inches, and I ordered a medium. They fit with a little to spare, so even someone with up to 16 1/2 inch calves should be able to wear a medium well. I am 5' 4" tall, and the gaiters come up to just below the bend in the back of my knee and don't rub, so they are perfect. The fabric is stiff and thick enough that I will probably wear them this summer as an extra protection against rattlesnakes. They are NOT advertised as snake gaiters, but I think they would work.
