These shoes run large, so my suggestion is order a half size smaller than you actually wear. I definitely would not order these again. The quality of shoe is definitely lacking. Within a day there were scuff marks on the shoes. After a few weeks of wearing them . . . well, it looks like I've owned the shoes for year. Even by tying the laces there is a rubbing off of color.

I have a tough time finding orthotic-friendly shoes (not just with the removable insole but the right shape) so I was really happy to find that these not only accepted orthotics well, they didn’t need a long break-in to be comfortable and flexible. Mine provide arch support (why I stated “N/A” there) and I also normally rate a EEE width when wearing high end dress shoes, however I found that the WW was a perfect width. I tried the 4W and even my orthotic rattled around inside. (If your feet are like paddles, the 4Ws will probably the only casual dress shoe you’ll find off the rack that doesn’t make you look like Frankenfoot.) Furthermore, my foot doctor pointed out that even though I wore an 11 all of my life, the location of the ball of my foot requires that I wear a size 12. (Using toe-room as your size-guide is a common mistake when sizing shoes.) Orthotics further complicates this because not all shoes are designed to flex In the same place. These Nunn’s bend exactly where they need to - right on the ball. I was trying these against a similar pair Rockport chukkas and these were far away the winner for comfort with an orthotic, mainly because of where the shoe wanted to flex. (Oddly enough, it was clear the factory memory foam insoles were EXACTLY the same so I wonder how much of both brands share in materials, labor, etc...) Anyway, It’s hard to find a good-looking shoe that actually bends where I need it to and the Rockports - as nice looking as they were - didn’t feel anywhere near as comfortable as these because they felt very rigid with the orthotic and caused my heel to rise up on the lift phase of my step. The Nunn’s didn’t slip a bit even when brand new. So far I’ve been wearing them around the house all weekend for over 6 hours at a time and right away they feel good. I don’t foresee any break-in issues. Finally, the orthotics don’t have a significant effect on these shoes’ exterior look and shape. Very often orthotics’ leading edge over the arch will often push into the leather and can give the shoe a misshapen look, especially over time. In some cases friction can start cutting right through. For orthotics-wearing people this may even happen with their most comfortable shoes- for me it’s my very worn pair of Doc Marten’s Crazy Horse which look totally misshapen as comfortable as they may be. They hold the orthotic well but the shoe looks bad over time. I am looking forward to wearing these and it not being obvious that I wear orthotics. All around they have a great fit, even if they might be slightly wider than stated (which for me was a good thing). They don’t hitch on the heel which is a sure-fire way to get blisters when they do. They look fantastic, and the leather’s shine is that nice in-between of oxford and matte. I’m looking forward to these being my favorite dress shoe.

I take a size 9EE by other manufactures and when ordering this particular shoe I had to order a full size smaller. I originally order this shoe in a size 9 xtra wide and to get my correct fit,I had to order 8.5 xtra wide and a size 8 xtra wide to get a correct size for me. The shoe is nicely made and very comfortable after getting the right fit. Zappos is a company that strives to satisfy.

These look amazing! I love them and will wear them almost every day. Listen to the other reviews and get one half size smaller. I normally wear 9.5 - 10 in D width and ordered 3 sizes. The one that fit perfectly was size 9E. I could have worn 9D, but my toes were crowded. These boots both look and feel great. I replaced the insoles with Dr. Scholl's gels from the drugstore and go all day on my feet in these. I've gotten many compliments already. As others pointed out, the finish scuffs easily as is common at this price point. A little shoe polish solves this minor problem. Otherwise, they look like $300+ boots IMHO.

I bought these for my husband. He loved them straight out of the box. The style, color and fit were fabulous. Truly they are a beautiful boot. He loved the comfort and lightweight of these boots. He can wear them with jeans or for dressy/casual occasions. He is planning to wear these to "fancy dress dinner" along with khakis and a tweed sports coat aboard our Carnival Cruise next month ...as we dine at an early hour , to dress any fancier would be overkill for him. lol

I can always find shoes that will fit me.

Fantastic shoe. Very comfortable for all-day wear. This was the shoe I wore when walking all over Florence, Rome, and Bologna. Was perfectly comfortable and never had any aches. Looks as great as it feels.

Finally found a boot that is wide enough to fit me comfortably (4W). Great look too .
