After about a year of wearing, I'm pretty satisfied overall with these shoes. At first, they were a little tight around the middle part of my foot, but after a few weeks, they fit really well.
I will say this though: the little rubber nubs (the slip resistant part) break off like crazy even with normal activity. Both of my shoes now have "bald spots" on the ball-of-the-foot area. This started happening within the first 2 months of wear. I walk on concrete floors with nothing around that would rip them off. The bald spots reached an equilibrium about 3 months in. That being said, they're still surprisingly slip-resistant and I have no problem walking across wet floors.
Yes, they are a little shallow, but the insole is very comfortable and the style is versatile. Our dress code is business casual and I've worn these shoes to work every day.
TLDR: Good shoes, good look, kinda tight until broken in, and slip-resistant materials/design need improvement.

I have owned several pairs of Docs so rating these true to size and width as in true to Dr. Marten's sizing. Purchased a Ladies 8, which is sized to fit an 8-8 1/2. These are incredibly comfortable! I deducted a star solely because these really could use more arch support. I have high arches and there just isn't enough support there. The softwair insole does have nice cushioning in the ball and heel areas and I was disappointed that the same construction wasn't used in the arch. That being said, there is substantially more support in the Work version of the 1460s. The tread on these are also pretty amazing. You can feel a noticeable difference in the way it grips the ground. Overall I really love this shoe! The shoe version of the 1460s is so much more stylistically versatile than the boot version (in my opinion). They retain that authentic Doc look and quality and allow for a great opportunity to showcase your socks. Plus they look great with everything: overalls, jumpers, jeans, leggings and dresses. Highly recommend and I'm even considering purchasing them in cherry red.

Although they fit to size, they are still too loose, even when tied tight in the upper. It’s so that with substantial walking, there is rubbing on the heel.

I love Doc Martens, but sadly, I am in between sizes and am finally accepting that they just don't fit me. I've tried different styles, but the size options are either too small or I am swimming in them. However, if these fit, I would keep them in a heartbeat!! The Airwalk insole is amazing! Unless I wear really thick socks though, they flop around on my feet.

Excited to receive my new pair of Dr. Martens shoes after not wearing one since college. Still kicking myself for donating those two pairs of 1461 ages ago. Ordered the 1461 SR after reading the comment that it's easier to break in and the leather much softer than 1461 W Black Smooth, but I didn't find this at all. At first touch, 1461 SR leather seemed more pliable, but upon wearing it, there's not much difference between the two. SR is definitely heavier than 1461 W, but once I wore it around the house, it became negligible. SR is really cushy on the feet and the moderate arch support enough for my flexible flat feet. The thing that disappoints me about this pair are the soles. The 'central GRIP-TRAX™ rubber pods for an enhanced grip' looks flimsy especially when it's extended all the way to the edge of the heels. The pair I received had minor cuts that didn't matched up and could easily be pinched off. Granted, these rubber pods made the shoes bouncy when walking, but I'm concerned that their placements running all the way to the edge of the heels would get them worn out faster in relation to how I walk. In my opinion, Dr. Martens should've contained the so called 'central GRIP-TRAX rubber pods' in the center of the heel of the soles surrounded by the PVC. Anyway, I'll be returning them for that reason.

slightly too big, but I like a big wooley sock, so perfect for me this time of year. Did not find them to be stiff or issues with break-in period. Comfy right out of the box. These are very heavy shoes, and quite masculine for a woman, but that is my style.

As someone in the restaurant industry, I am always on the lookout for a good sturdy work shoe that I can be comfortable in for long shifts on my feet, not slip and fall in on greasy or wet floors, and that are also cute and stylish. These are just perfect. I wore them to work straight out of the box and completely forgot that I was wearing brand new shoes. They are that comfortable. They are truly slip resistant and are nice and bouncy.
Style-wise, I like shoes that are slightly chunky, and these are definitely that. If you like little dainty shoes, these may not be for you. They are heavy, give me a little boost in height and are definitely well made. They will last me forever if I take good care of them.
My only complaint is that are slightly long. There is a tiny bit of room length-wise, but the width is perfect. I normally were a 7 1/2 to an 8 and ordered an 8. I probably could have gone down to a 7, but I decided to keep them and just wear thicker socks.

This is my first pair of Docs in quite a long time. I have worn this pair several times now and am mostly happy with the shoes. They look good, seem to be well constructed, and the foot bed is comfortable (significantly more comfortable then that long ago pair). I have not walked on a wet surface yet so I cannot speak to the effectiveness of the slip resistant sole. The fit is the one thing that is off for me. I always wear a US size 10, so got the suggested UK size 9. The problem is that, while the width is fine, it is a bit long for my feet. The result is the back of the shoe slides up and down while walking. Quite a bit, actually, if the laces are not tight. Since half sizes are not available, I will chalk this up to an idiosyncrasy of Dr. Martens sizing. Given how well the width feels I will figure something out to reduce the sliding as I think a size smaller will be too narrow.

I work at a hotel that has a few restaurants so I'm on my feet all day. I love how hard it is to slip with these shoes. At night I'm an in-room dining waiter and I actually cook the food too after 9pm. The cooks that clean up the station prior to 9pm remove the industrial rubber floor mats on the line and whats left is a greasy tiled floor that is very slippery if you dont have the appropriate footwear. You can easily slip especially if you're in a hurry moving in and out that area. These shoes have done a great job keeping me from slipping and really grip the floor. Im impressed by how comfortable they are. The inner shoe lining is ribbed and when my foot begins to feel tired, i can massage my toes with the ribbed lining. Having said that, the shoe does feel a bit large. I can actually curl my toes inwards with ease. I guess it cant be a bad thing that it feels a little big. Its wide enough for my wide foot too which is good. The shoes are a bit heavy but I was already expecting that and dont mind since Im used to working with construction steel-toed work boots. I've worn them for over 7 shifts now and I like how they dont make my feet smell too. Overall, I feel these are really going to last and I'm happy with my purchase.

Took a while to break these shoes and were uncomfortable. They look very nice but I paid a high price because I never had corns or calluses but with these shoes I got a really painful callus and that's finally what did it for me. I ended up throwing away those shoes.

Good fit. Traditional Doc Marten feel. Softer insole is a great addition for standing at work. Stiff leather chewing up my heel until break-in is just as usual for these shoes. I am looking for durability without the black with yellow stitching that I liked when I was a teen. Get band aids for your heels until they soften up.

I'm a women's size 6, the 1461 felt a half size larger compared to my other styles of Dr Martens. The toe box wasn't uncomfortable for my wide feet, however my ankles slipped in and out of the back of the shoe wearing thick socks just walking around the house. The leather is smooth, and not uncomfortably stiff which would make breaking in easy for work. Unfortunately I'll have to send these shoes back and will think about ordering down a size.

Traditional 1461 styling. Inside of shoe is softer not the usual straight up leather. Has soft mushy inside to help make long days on your feet more comfortable. Inside rear of shoe is still like a knife on your heels so you can expect losing skin and blisters. Buy some large band aids to put on your heels. Shoes are very tight for people with borderline wide feet. This is the second pair of 1461's that Ive bought recently that are mostly unwearable due to being so tight in width. Length is good.

Tried the shoes on while I travel and couldn't stand them. They caused blisters right above my heel from both feet. I hope they'll get better if I break them ina little more but as of now I am not happy with them. The shoes need more cushion around the specially where your feet rub the edge of the shoe.

The concept is fantastic, the practical design is terrible. The outside grip is definitely an improvement for people who need that at work. The extra padding inside (foot and ankle) would be nice but the shoe itself is not scaled to match it. Initially I ordered my regular size. It felt a half size too small; as if my foot was going to slide out of the shoe. it was also tight all around, especially the toes. I sent them back unworn.
Then I ordered a size up, they were way too big. If I was going to a costume party and I was a clown, these would definitely be the shoe, alas, no such parties are in my future. I had to send them back after trying them on once and walking a few steps. They immediately went back in the box and a few days later were sent back to the UPS store.
At this point, it's been almost a week and I still have not received a refund. I will be very unhappy if it's not processed, they are not inexpensive.

The most comfortable footwear, right out of the box, no break in period, no blisters, no rubbing, foot bed is heaven! I'm on my feet 10 hrs a day on concrete, I love docs, but the SR work model is above and beyond in comfort, with the doc superior quality, and great value .
