I have two pairs of these boots (a mocha leather and smooth black) and Beau has the smooth black ones. We joke that they are our "Birkendocks." Neither of us has ever had much luck with docs (but we are Gen Exers so we dutifully squooshed our feet into them in the 90s!!) It's the soul and the chunkiness. But inside, they are decidedly Birkenstock. We live in the Northeast and wore these a ton this winter. They also looked awesome, and added some height (rare for Birk if you require regular width) but I couldn't wear them to work because my office is sweltering and these shoes are quite hot. In the soft leather pair I can wear any type of sock or tights, but in the smooth leather, the look of which I prefer, I have to wear thick enough socks to protect my ankles. In the neverending debate about sizing closed heel Birks, I needed to order up from my Gizeh/Arizona/Boston/Paris/London size from 37R to 38R, whereas (it turns out), Beau needs his Arizona size, 45R. He has thin ankles, and missed the functionality of laces. Soon, however, they were nice and broken in and feeling more secure. I wear my Gizehs et al pretty close (wish they made half-sized Birks!) and he wears his a touch loose. We each have respectable Birkenstock collections, and I predict that our Stalons will outlive pretty much all the other Birks in our closets!!! Glad to have invested in these!

Cute boots, but different footbed than the sandals. I have 4 pairs of Birenstock sandals, all 39, and the 39 in these boots is too small. Also, the arch support isn't as good as in the sandals. Why can't Birkenstock use the same footbed?

I typically wear size 39 in Birkenstock sandals but usually need to size up to a 40 in Birkenstock shoes and boots due to high arches and wide feet. I did that here and 40 was the correct size for me. However the leather was quite stiff, especially at the top, front of the boot where it hits the ankle and they weren't comfortable enough for me to keep. Some of the finishing on the boots was disappointing as well- slight smudges/scratches to the leather and untrimmed bits around the elastic. At full price, it just wasn't worth it for me to keep these.

Great winter replacement for my Arizona soft footbed sandals. Fit true to size, completely relieves my plantar fasciitis pain and is completely stylish!

First off, this shoe is made of nice leather. It is shiny but not bad shiny. The leather was stiff around the ankle when I tried it on (now it may soften up once broken in but idk). The style looked nice but the front part of the boot was just too wide. It made my size 10 feet look giant! So even though the arch support was great, leather was nice, I will be returning. May look fine on smaller feet.

I love these boots and i love Birkenstock! The boots are super cute and easy to wear. The problem is, they don't have the same footbed as all the comfortable birkenstocks that I wear. I wear birkenstocks because I have plantar fasciitis and I expect ALL birkenstocks to have the same comfortability. Every time I wear these boots, my heel hurts so bad I can barely walk the next day. I finally compared the inserts to my sandals and clogs and they don't have nearly the arch support as my clogs and sandals do. I noticed some of their other shoes are the same. I had to buy some new inserts for these boots and they're perfect! Why doesn't birkenstock use the same footbed for all their shoes? At a price point of $200, I shouldn't need to buy additional inserts and they shouldn't kill my feet after wearing them all day. A bit disappointing.

Love love love these! I have a pair of blundstones, but they’re sloppy on my feet. As a dedicated Birkenstock saddle wearer, I was super excited to find these in narrow. They are perfect ?. I bought the same size as I wear in Birkenstock sandals and clogs (size 40). I have no problem getting the on and the unbuckle leather is soft.

It is great to find a boot that is comfortable and stylish, these Birkenstock Stalons check all the boxes. The first time I put on they were a bit of a wriggle, after your feet are in the comfort is amazing. When I wore them for a day, the top loosened up so they were easy to take off and put on again. Where I live on the Northern California coast, it's cool all year round. Fall and winter are on the way. I bought these in Charcoal color, and after one wearing put my order in for a second pair in Black. They were almost sold out in my size, if you are thinking about these boots I would hurry up and get your order in as I am betting they will be hard to find soon.

i love these boots. they are my everyday winter shoe. they look great at work and are also functional enough for hiking and shoveling snow. they’re very well made and take a bit to break in.

Super cute, incredibly comfortable boot right out of the box. Arch support is like a massage for your feet. I didn’t want to take them off! Lots of room in the toe box. Easy on and off and no rubbing. I was worried about the narrow width, but they fit just like my medium Birkenstock Gizeh sandals and another pair of medium width Birkenstock booties. The gray nubuck is a lovely color but scratches easily and was more casual than I was going for, so sadly they’re going back. It appears the black color may be a bit sleeker / dressier. If you’re looking for a cute, casual, super comfortable boot, these are it!

I love love love these! I tell people that they look clunky but they are so comfortable. I have a high instep so not easy to get on at first but now they have softened up so no problem now. The arch support is great and fit is my usual 37.

I never knew boots could be this comfortable. I've been wearing these boots 5 days a week at work for about 2 months now, after a 1 month break in period where I'd wear them 3 days a week. I walk more than 4 miles a day in them and they are so stinking comfortable. I normally wear a 40 in Birkenstock sandals and got the 40/W9 in these and the fit is just right. They are spendy but seem to be holding up with my regular use.

Love these boots! They are very supportive AND comfortable. They can be dressed up or worn as super casual boots. The gray color is perfect and I love that they are water resistant.

Was worried they would feel too narrow since they were the "narrow" size...but they're perfect. The "wide" ones would have been too wide. The Nubuck color is perfect and can be work with either gray or brown hued clothing, as some gray hued shoes cannot. They absolutely repel water as I wore them in the snow immediately and did not get any snow in my socks nor did I feel any cold on my feet. They do feel heavy, but I'm not complaining because I appreciate the heavy tread on the sole. Would absolutely recommend. Hope to get many many years out of these like my normal Birk sandals.

Am not sure why I bother leaving a review. All they are posting is the bad ones, and these Birkenstock boots are amazing. I have a size 11 foot, the size 42 fits like a glove. The ankle elastic stretches and conforms to your foot after a day of use, then they slide on and off with ease. These Birkenstock boots are amazing, yet Zappos posts all the negative reviews and I couldn't even find my review. These boots are so nice, I purchase two pairs, and may buy a third. Very comfortable. I walk a lot, and these are very comfortable from the minute you put them on.

I usually only wear regular width Birkenstocks but I really wanted these boots so I tried the narrow and they fit fine. Totally roomy!

Love these boots. However, I did size up due to my wide foot. Wear a 40 in Birkenstock sandals and a 41 in the Boston. The 41 in this boot fit me but was snugger than the Bostons. I opted to size up to make my left foot happier and better fit for more sock options. The boots are very soft and comfortable and do get easier to put on and off with wear.

The length seems comparable to the clogs and sandals that I have (they and Chaco sandals are the only thing that doesn't hurt the ball of my right foot) but they felt quite different with the different sole. I liked the patina and softness of the taupe nubuck. However, the 37 size was a tad small for thick winter socks. I might have kept them anyway, since the leather would probably stretch but the leather wasn't completely bonded to the sole in the front. Sadly, Zappos appears to be sold out of the style.

I’m a size 9.5 in most shoes. Ordered a 40 & a 41. 41 was the best fit. I’ll definitely need to wear medium weight socks as the boot is a bit roomy, but the cork bed feels just like my Birk sandals I have bought again and again throughout the years.

As a tall person with a size 11 shoe, the size 42 medium fits like a glove. Very comfortable the first time I put on. The elastic on the ankle portion loosens up after a day of wear. These are destined to give years of wear as they are made well. Happy with my purchase.

They fit and feel perfect, right out of the box. Very stylish, am super happy with these boots!
