I have worn Birkenstocks for many years, and these feel true to size. I don't normally spend this much, but I figured that if I'm going to wear a less-than-beautiful sandal (sorry Birkenstock-lovers, but it's true - we wear them for comfort above all, and there's nothing better), it should be something fun. The rivets do not go all the way through to the backside of the suede, so the straps are soft and comfortable against bare feet. The rivets are also a matte finish, so this the design is busy but not flashy. I absolutely love them and don't regret the extra cost for a second.

This was a failed trial on my part. I have two other pairs of Birkenstocks and love them, and I loved the look of these....and I was looking for black sandals. I did see that they only had narrow width, but I had read in several places that many times normal width feet do fine in narrow Birkis so I decided to give them a try. Sadly, for me, the narrow is just a tidge too narrow. It is with heavy heart I send them back. They are lovely, well made, and will be very comfortable for someone with a narrower foot.

The style is awesome, love the rivet accents! I wear a medium width and although I wasn’t sure the narrow size would fit, I was pleasantly surprised they did.

When I first saw these shoes they went on to my "wish list"..the price really made me think of them as investment shoes! After deliberating for a while I decided to order them...I have had other Birkenstock/Papillio shoes for ten years and they look brand new....I am usually a 7.5 Medium in most shoes but I wanted to try a 7.5 narrow which is what I ordered...the fit is perfect.

I absolutely love the look of this shoe - it's simply adorable! It is also just as comfortable as every other Birkie I've ever owned. But I like to be able to just slip my feet in and go. The uppers of these are made from soft leather, suede I guess. So the straps are floppy. I have to sit down and hold the straps open to put them on my feet. A small thing, yes. But that is why I gave the style and overall just 4 stars.
