I laughed when I read the reviews for this boot talking about how it's too wide around the calf, because for me, it was just barely wide enough. Even thought I'm average height, I have short legs, which for many women often means wider, more muscular calves. The shorter length of this boot was the big draw for me-I can often find wide calf boots that fit me, but they're much too high for my short calves and end up cutting into my knees (something that I wish more boot makers would address, but alas). The height on these Borns are perfect. My calves are 16 inches around at their largest point, and these babies JUST zipped, albeit a bit painfully. Thankfully I had some boot stretching spray on hand, and with a little work, now they fit like a dream, even over jeggings. I have slightly wide feet, and these fit a bit tighter around the foot than my other Borns, but have already stretched a bit and I can tell they will get there with time. I bought my usual size in Borns and the footbed length was fine. I absolutely adore the style, and as my other Borns just get more comfy and better looking with age, I expect these will too.

SHORT girls with short and bigger calves rejoice!!Do you know how many boots I've tried on, bought on line and returned!! LOTS!! I got these today and crossed my fingers, they went on like a dream, zipped right up !!They are not a high boot but good enough for my short legs, they fit about 3 inches below my knee which is great for me! most boots are too high and hit above my knees. These are going to look great with leggings, jeggings or whatever you want to wear them with. I ordered a 6 and normally wear 5.5, these will be good with thicker socks, not too big though. I do wish BORN would make smaller sizes in their shoes. I hope they keep making these boots and I would love a black in these too. You can't go wrong with these boots, I can't say enough and how happy I am!!! I love the rugged look of these boots, not dressy but I don't need dressy boots., I live in Colorado so I need warmth.

I have been looking for a boot like this for years. I was even more excited when I saw they were made by Born. I have purchased many Born brand footwear. So glad I found these, I absolutely love them.

LOVE THESE BOOTS! I am a true size 7 and these fit great! I have been looking for a while for brown boots and since I have lost weight my wide calf boots were now too wide. My calf is approx 16 inches in circumference so in other brands I still may be in a wide calf. What I love about these boots is that they are more of a mid-calf boot and they fit perfect around the calf area. I like the 'weathered' look of the boots as well!. The boots are very comfortable and I have received so many compliments on them!

The boots are exactly what they look like in the picture..They are true to size , perfect exactly what I was looking for, and received in one day wonderful service....

These seem much smaller than my previous pair of Born boots. Returning for a half size up. Quality also seems below what Born usually is, but I liked the overall style enough to try them again.

These are hands down the best boots I've ever purchased. They are soft with a thick and supportive tread. All the high quality you'd expect from Born. They do run small by a full size. I'm a size 9 and the 10 fit perfect.

Ordered the 8.5 (generally wear 8.5-9 pending brand) Felt tight so ordered size 9 to make sure of fit. It was slightly loose so stayed with the 8.5. They have stretched to where they are more comfortable, although cannot wear thick socks with them (yet). Love how they look and happy with purchase. The light brown has a distressed look I really like.

I read lots of reviews before purchasing anything, but I hardly ever leave any of my own. I had to this time, because I wanted to share how much I love my Born Anetta boots! I was searching for a riding boot that didn't come up all the way to the knee, as most of the styles do today. I find the knee-high boots can sometimes be awkward feeling around the knee, and on my thicker legs, aren't that flattering (by the way, I am 5-6 so I'm not short and still feel most boots are too tall). Related to that, I wanted to make sure it would fit my calves, but I didn't want to go to the wide calf options, as there aren't many of those either. Style-wise, I was looking for a flat boot, and also a comfortable one, so I could wear them all the time. Finally I wanted a medium to deep brown color. The Anetta boots hit on everything on my wish list, and actually, I didn't find any other options that ticked all the boxes. Knowing they were Borns, I had high hopes they would be super comfortable. Well, when they arrived and I put them on, I couldn't stop smiling. They were so classic in appearance, and they were super flattering on me. They were unbelievably comfortable--I knew right away no breaking in would be needed--and in wearing them around most of a day I found that to be true. The leather is soft and supple and really rich in color. I have narrow feet and high arches but love a wide toe box. These fit my feet perfectly. I could tell, however, that if you have a medium width foot they should still fit fine, as I have room, but no slippage. I can't recommend me these enough.

These are great boots for casual wear. They started out a little too snug across the vamp but that stretched out and became comfortable after a few wearings. I like the character of the leather. Wish they were a bit taller, they are a weird height in between mid-calf and knee.

Love the look of this booth. Leather is great and the shaft is a perfect height. Unfortunately the top of the boot is meant for someone with larger legs. There was a huge gap so unfortunately I had to return the item.

I'm glad I have these boots. They have a solid, sturdy feel without being clunky, The brown color is nice for mixing up with other basics like black and navy. I'm always happy with Born boots and these are no exception.

Initially ordered a 9.5 because I have a pair of Born booties in 9.5 and a pair of lace up combat-style boots in a 9. The 9.5 was too tight across the top of my left foot and was going to be too snug with thick socks so I exchanged for a half size up. The 10s feel a little bit long but are not tight across the top of my left foot. Overall, I love the color and style of these boots.

These are beautiful boots, but the fit wasn't exactly right for me. I purchased my usual size 7.5 and they were a bit short and narrow, especially since I like to wear thicker socks in the winter. (I am borderline narrow, so the width would have been ok.) Also, the left boot was very creased, like someone else had tried to break it in. Sadly returned......

these boots hurt like heck, i have red lines across the tops of my feet from wearing them even when i haven’t worn them lately, read the reviews: very narrow across the foot; wide calves. four stars since i love them and wear them constantly anyhow! they are gorgeous, perfect, and very comfortable considering they hurt. i’m actually thinking about buying another pair...i’m not kidding, this is a great-looking pair of boots. the reviews are pretty accurate. the fact that they are not too high probably makes them fit more people in the calves, whether you are short and stocky or big (not huge.) i have plenty of room for jeans in the calves of these and the born tonic also. i feel like the third customer photo is the most accurate—a plain, great riding boot....

I'm a big fan of Born boots and was really hoping these would work out. I'm 5' tall with about 16" calves and have a hard time finding boots that are wide in the calf area, but also not too tall. I loved the clean style of this boot. While I had no problem zipping them up, they buckled around my ankles making them uncomfortable. Bummed to have to return them.

I like everything about these except the color is not as rich looking as the picture. Just seemed a little blah in color but otherwise comfy and well-made.

Boot too big in the calf area

These were substandard for Born boots in my opinion. I live in Born boots in the fall/winter, among other great brands, because I’m a teacher and stand on my feet on concrete all day long. The leather felt stiff and almost plastic-like. It was an unusual feel for a Born boot. The footbed was comfortable but seemed to lack the good support for which Born is known. I loved the color and wished they had worked, but the price was steep for the quality. The shaft was a little wide as well, but I do have thin legs so take that for what it’s worth.

Gorgeous boots, the leather looks very rich, vintage-like, and distressed. I really wanted to keep them but they were a bit too wide in the calf area for my smaller - sized calves. I normally wear an 8.5 medium and though it felt true to size it was a bit snug in the foot area.

After having my eye on these boots for some time, I ordered them knowing Born has great quality. I ordered half a size larger since my big toe joint (bunion area) is really sensitive. These boots are great quality with thicker leather that will need to be broken in. You can tell they will last forever. Even buying half a size larger, these boots are too tight and instantly hurt my feet when I put them on. Perhaps a full size larger would have worked and/or a wide width. I don’t know if Born offers wide width though. Also, I am 5’4” and felt these boots make my legs look shorter which is what I try to avoid. I am going to stick to ankle high boots and am returning these. I am bummed though because these boots are beautiful and I wished they fit me better and looked better on.

This boot had a much tighter fit and I typically wear a 7.5 but they were gorgeous boots.
