First I need to write that I have flat feet that pronate, are somewhat narrow, and hard to fit. I ordered LOTS of boots from Zappos; these Sperry Maritime Repel were by far the best fit because they weren't overly wide and offered good arch support. The lace-up Sorel boots offered a great fit, but without a side zipper they took long to get off and on. With the Sperry Maritime Repel, the side zipper made it easy to take them off and put them on in a hurry. Other Zappos reviews about the Sperry Maritime were positive, and made a difference in my selection. Although I ultimately chose comfort, good fit, and practicality over style, I've received lots of complements on my Sperry Maritime Repel at work (I teach college), even from my teenage daughter who's quite critical when it comes to style. My only complaint is that the weather has warmed and dried up so I can't justify wearing these very comfortable boots in the deep south climate where I live!

When you I got them there was a gap and you can see the glue. I sent them back and you ent me knew ones and the same thing. You can see the glue. The craftsmanship is horrible. I don’t know how long these will hold up. The first two pictures are from the first pair and Last picture is the from the second pair.

Disappointed. They appear so cute here, but looked & felt ridiculously large in real life. Returned them the next day & did not exchange for a smaller size. Not worth the $$$.

These Sperry boots are an excellent high quality boot that balance style and functionality. Perfect for the upstate NY winter weather.

I have a very high instep. Having adjustable laces and a side zipper make these the best fitting boots I have ever worn.... they are good looking!. . Perfect for Maine winter weather and mud season

I quite liked these boots, but they were a little big on me and I had to return them. I ordered a half size larger than I normally wear so I could wear these boots with thick winter socks on an upcoming trip, but they felt a little loose around my ankle. Because these boots have a zipper, the laces are just decorative so I couldn't tighten them down to make the boot more secure. The rubber on the boots also squeaked, which would have bugged me as I bought these so I could do a lot of walking outdoors. I did like the style though, and the boots were lovely and warm, with a very sturdy tread. They looked cute with both jeans and leggings, but ultimately, the style wasn't what I was looking for.

I like the way these boots look and the fact that they are waterproof. They seem to fit well, but they make a very loud squeaking noise when you walk in them. I am returning them because I am intolerant of squeaking shoes.

Noisy shoe, squeaks with every step. Is that why they are called duck shoes? These are actually pretty comfortable shoes, but the laces are basically for decoration (there is a side zipper that's nice) and it would be better if the laces were more functional to use as actual laces. Of course, you could make it that way by replacing them, but the shoe was a little long in the toe box for an 8.5, so I had to return them.

I have been a Sperry fan for years. Their Saltwater Misty and Shearwater boots were FANTASTIC and really lived up to the Sperry name of quality, comfort and performance. Since they no longer are selling these lines I started to try their new offerings and they are coming up short. These Maritime Repel boots I am on the fence about (because I really NEED some waterproof boots to walk around in the PNW in) but am overall not happy with. The size: I am solidly a size 5 but usually size up to a 5.5 or 6 in winter boots and running/sport shoes. I got these in a 5.5 and they are a little snug in the toe bed, especially on top and yet my heel slips. I really miss the taller shaft of their older boots. The height of the shaft on these are ok but very loose in the ankle/shaft. The leather laces they come with are not great and you can not really tie them without them looking strange (they are short and have a spiral at the end and are not really meant to be tied)... which means if I keep them I will likely have to cut the current laces off and get new ones which is not ideal for the price and will change the aesthetic. In prior boots the laces were able to be tied AND still had that nice aesthetic and with the zipper did not really need to be adjusted other than the first time. The lace holes also seem to be spaced out a bit too far, causing the leather to buckle where the top of the foot meets the shaft of the boot. The tongue keeps wanting to shift heavily to the side as well. One of the things that kept me coming back to this brand in the past is the ease of getting them on/off. These, with all of their fit hiccups, are proving to be quite the challenge to get on and off and still have a fit that can be worn without great slippage. It honestly feels like not a lot of thought went into these boots and I am pretty disappointed in their sloppy design.

They're very well made but the material is very stiff. The shoelaces are so short I found it impossible to tie them. The front is tight but the heel is loose. Not a good fit for me.

I am so bummed because I just tried them on the first time, made it tighter and the lace broke! I hope I can exchange. This is the first time I’m ordering Sperry’s so I hope this is not the norm, because they are very very cute!

These boots are adorable & would fit great if your foot would go in. Problem is they are way to small to get your foot into them even with side zipper open!!! I have a small foot & ankle. P I rated the Overall & Comfort a 1 star because of the flawed design. The Style is so cute I rated it a 5 Star.

Love these! Super comfortable and have lasted me 3yrs+ through snow and rain in Virginia.
