I have several pairs of the 1000 Mile Boot. They are all extremely durable and still have that old school, hand made quality that seems to be disappearing in footwear today. My one issue with this boot is simple: The laces are junk. I received the first pair with one lace already snapped in the box. As usual, Zappos was great in send me out a new pair overnight. The new pair looked perfect. But on the second day, the lace snapped. On the fourth day, the same lace snapped again, resulting in the second knot holding it together. It’s irritating that such a simple quality control issue should be overlooked by Wolverine. There’s no excuse for this, especially at over $300 a pair!

Very comfortable boots. The upper is softer and a little more comfortable than the upper of the Wolverine Original 1000 mile boot. I went a full size down from regular shoe size and they fit perfectly. I was disappointed that the lace broke on the second time I wore them. the laces are leather; Trying to find matching/similar laces may be difficult.

Generally, I like these shoe/boots. Comfortable, and they look good. My primary complaints are the fit and finish, and the corresponding price. Tax included, these cost me $460. Even without the tax, 415 seems a bit steep for boots that have only one layer of leather. Perhaps these will hold up over time as shoes at this price should, but I'm not so sure. I bought a 10, compared to 9.5 in Red Wings.

Liked the look of these boots, however the lace busted the first time I tried to wear them, so they will be returned, very disappointing considering the price, would have expected better quality.
