It was mostly right size, but where I usually turn to Merrill for wide toe/narrow heel the toe part was a bit snug and heel to large. After usage toe part stretched out and is fine. Have to stuff my pants in upper part to keep my foot from sliding out as I walk (or stuff something in there). However, once done very comfortable to walk in. And ice grip is truly awesome. I’ve walked up to three miles on icy sidewalks without slipping. You have to step full footed since sides don’t grip

i really wanted to love these. Unfortunately, they were at least an inch too long and I felt the heel was unusually wide, so the heel would slip. The arch was placed were it should be, so a smaller size would not work out. They were narrower than most Merrell's, but not too bad for my average width feet. There is not much of an arch support, but I didn't have them on long enough to know if that would make them uncomfortable. The furry part was very soft and warm. Too bad! Merrell's have been my "go to", best fit for my feet, shoe for decades.

I am a big fan of Merrell boots -- especially side zip boots. I purchased these in a half size bigger than I typically wear and have been happy with the fit. I am not bothered by the placement of the arch support (although I have high arches) or the width of the opening. I do find them to be less insulated than I would have expected (my feet get cold standing on the train platform). And I like the idea of extra grip on the sole. I feel more confident overall (although I have skidded a time or two in very bad weather). Two downsides: 1. I find that they look more like rain boots than leather boots. Must be the sheen on the leather. 2. These are pretty expensive. I was happy to get them on sale.

These boots fit TTS-which is unusual for Merrell. I usually size up a half-size with this brand, but these boots fit TTS. I have wide feet and narrow heels-no tightness or slippage with these boots-I love the fit. These boots keep my feet warm in the bone-chilling temps of New England. I can’t speak to the arch support because I haven’t walked further than 2 miles in them-they seem supportive. I love the soles of these boots—-no slippage on the slick ice!! I wasn’t expecting such excellent traction so it is a very pleasant surprise. No regrets with this purchase!

Great boots - cute, comfortable and grip well on ice. I like them so much I might get the tall ones.

Sadly, my wife's foot was just a bit too wide. Size was accurate, Merrell just needs to offer a Wide. I wore a pair of Merrells last winter with the Vibram® Arctic Grip™sole and it WORKS! I bought myself a pair of Men's Tremblants for this winter.

The size fit perfectly for the feet but it is a bit loose at the ankles (like other reviews mentioned). For me, the easy fix is wearing a medium to heavy weight hiking socks or leg warmers. I was impressed with the ability to walk over ice without feeling slippery. We had a freezing rain last night and our driveway was frozen-up with a sheet of ice. My husband was trying to shovel the ice but his snow boot did not work on ice and he kept slipping on the ice. On the other hand, I can stand on the ice and shovel away the ice without slip at all. The fur lining for this boot is ALL THE WAY INSIDE THE SOLE, it keeps my feet toasty and add some nice feel. I wear it all day at work walking around and did not even feel any soreness, impressive! The outside of the shoe is also nice, it wipes clean, the label says that the boot is salt resistant, I walked around on heavily salted roads and the boot still look nice without salt stain after the day. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I've always worn size 9 in Merrell boots and was disappointed that the size 9 felt a little too short. The 9.5 was way too long. They are cute.

These have a very strange fit. I usually wear wide so I ordered a whole size up, usually that's enough but they were still very narrow. They also felt very uncomfortable in the arch when I tried to walk. As if their shape was somehow not the same as my feet. I usually don't have any arch support issues and enjoy shoes regardless of how much arch support they have. No support is fine, a lot of support fine too. But here...something was wrong and really uncomfortable. They also looked better on the picture then in reality and didn't feel very warm. But then I only wore them at home and didn't try them in the snow.

I love Merrells and was excited to get these. I have always had a narrow foot so I was pretty surprised when these were scrunching my toes from the top and sides. They are very attractive and I already went up a half size. Please order up a whole size if you want a good fit. Nothing else to complain about. Study and super cute as far as winter boots go.

These ran really big.

I wanted to love these boots. They seemed great - well-made, fur throughout for warmth, good sole - until I put them on. The top gapped (not good for chilly breezes!), and the footbed wasn’t quite right (it felt like the arch was in the wrong spot). They were true to size, but so stiff I am not sure I would have been able to walk in them for long. I really loved the color (sort of red/brown) though. It’s a bummer, but sending them back.

I was looking for an insulated boot to wear in cold snowy weather. I've had several styles of Merrell shoes in the past, so thought these would fit the bill for comfort and warmth. I ordered my typical shoe size of 6 1/2 but even with a thick sock I could feel my heel slip when I walked. The buckles are decorative only, so there is no way to tighten the boot. Another issue I had was how truly uncomfortable these boots were. They don't appear to have any arch support or foot cushion. All in all for the price they seem to lack the usual quality I expect in a Merrell shoe. These were returned.

The boots are very attractive but for me unwearable. They have a ridge or seam at the back above the heel that made it painful to walk. I had to return them.

DISAPPOINTING! I should have read the other reviews before ordering. I love Merrells, they always fit, so I didn't read the warnings. These are narrow in the front, wide in the heel and really long in the toe box. I wish Merrell would make a tall boot with the Ice Grip soles that fits like their other boots. I have three pair of Merrell boots, and love them. These have to go back.
