These are great LOOKING shoes... but after this being the FOURTH pair of Merrell's (3 different styles) to fall apart or be SUPER uncomfortable in less than 2 months, I have to be done with the brand. I wish they had as good of a product as they looked like they do, but these are definitely not going to hold up to any kind of outdoor use, much less regular city walking. Saddest review I've had to write!

I was looking for a pair of fashionable casual sneakers suitable for travel, city walking, and light outdoor adventures/hikes. After many disappointing years with sneakers of this type from Northface (Back-To-Berkeley Low) and Timberland, I decided to give these Merrell's a try. I had originally purchased the Merrell Burnt Rocked Leather's, but swapped them out for a pair of these Merrell Burnt Rock Travel Suede's, which are lighter, more flexible, more ventilated, and much more comfortable out of the box - just about perfect for what I'm looking for, without sacrificing too much style. These do have more of an athletic look and structure than the other Merrell's, which I'd consider to be more of a city shoe. The build quality is great, infinitely better than the Northface Back-To-Brekeley's and Timberland's I used to own, and they fit like a glove right out of the box. Great comfort and support. I suspect I'll get many great years of use out of these both in the city and on the trails. My one gripe is the meager variety of colorways. I purchased the "granite" colorway, which looks great except for the big patch of contrast color (which is sort of a light peach/beige tone) on the back of the shoe, which gives it an odd two-tone bowling shoe vibe from the back.

These shoes are very light and comfortable. They are also true to fit, as I am a very consistent 10.5 and these were a perfect fit. Thanks Zappos!

The perfect show for my trip to Ireland. I bought these two days before my trip, and felt no discomfort while breaking them. They are so roomy and supportive, and at the same time stylish.

Nice walking shoe - although could learn a thing from running shoes in regard to pronation. It feels like there is a slight outward stance - where the outside edge of the shoe will wear quicker than the inside. Arch support is good and the shoe is comfortable. Merrell did not give much thought to the shoe tounge as the laces do not sit smoothly on top - always feel like they're in the wrong location. If they would have made the tounge a bit longer - this would not be an issue. Overall a decent shoe - but a bit overpriced for the overall quality.

These are a great street/casual shoe for men. They have style, but aren’t too loud or trendy. They are nicer than wearing an athletic shoe ‘out’. They aren’t meant for rigorous use and if you’re looking for something versatile to wear walking around town, this might be your solution.

Love this shoe!!! I wear it all the time. The grey works for casual and for semi-casual. At first, the shoe felt a little off, but it quickly shaped to my feet. I have a narrower foot so these shoes are perfect. I'm actually going to buy the same shoe in a different color I like them so much.

Having worn Merrill shoes previously, I expected them to be light weight and they are. The color palette is one that can worn with multiple clothing colors and they are all day comfortable.

I was looking for a shoe that could be worn casually or at work; this shoe fits the bill. My only concern is that the front of the shoe takes time to break in and then is left with a crease

I was looking for a sneaker with a little bit of a hiking/outdoor feel. These shoes are exactly that.

My "usual" size is 9.5M but I need 9AM for this pair. After I returned my 9.5M and received my 9M the next day, I am very happy with the pair. Very comfortable to walk in on pavement. Perfect travel shoes, I believe. Highly recommended.

The length and width were a good fit but overall the shoe was stiff and uncomfortable. There isn’t much support either.

Possibly my favorite shoes I have ever worn. I also bought a pair of the standard "Alpine" shoes, but prefer these by a large margin. They are extremely comfortable, sturdy, and long-lasting. I also find them stylistically versatile, they can pass in a casual setting, even a hike, or going out to dinner in jeans and a button-down. amazing shoes. I'd order a second pair if they still had my size.

These are great comfortable and casual shoes. I got them a half size smaller than usual and they fit great.

Great shoes. Much more lightweight than I expected. And mine definitely ran 1/2 size large. I'm a 13.5 and never fit 13 so I always buy 14. This pair of 14 fit like a 14.5.

I have horrible foot & ankle issues. The sole is thinner than I hoped. But...Got these shoes on Thursday, wore them all day Friday & Saturday and walked A LOT. They are great. I would buy again. I hope they hold up.

The burnt rock travel shoe is comfortable, supportive, and great for walking around or for professions that require someone to be on their feet all day.
