Bought this for my son who has large feet. They fit lengthwise but unfortunately were too wide. I would say it is more like a generous medium which some may like in boots but we will have to return.

wore these the other night, it was about 25 degrees and my feet never got cold. I just have sizing issues with Merrell shoes I guess. Tried a 9.5, which is my usual size, too big. Ordered a 9 and walked around my living room, thought they were ok, but wearing them around the other night my feet started slipping around a lot - probably could go with an 8.5 or 8 but too late

These boots fit true. Comfortable right out of the box. Intended use is for winter chores (snow-blowing, snow shoveling, cleaning off cars, slushy/snowy commutes to work). Should be perfect.
I've worn them while raking leaves for about four hours to make sure there weren't any issues. I noted a little bit of a chaffing feeling at the high-top, but I think I just need to lace them looser up there. I also use a custom carbon fiber ankle/foot orthosis on my left leg, and everything fit into the boot. Neat.

I've used these over the winter months, as I was tired of having cold feet while working (flatbed trucking). These fit the bill perfectly. They are light and comfortable and keep my feet dry and warm, even down into the negative temps.
The only issue that I have had with them is if I wear thinner cotton socks, they do not breathe very well and get a bit ripe. Thicker socks don't have that issue. Would not recommend for year round use, they're too warm over about 40 degrees ambient temp.

From the first time I slipped this boot on, the fit was perfect and the ankle support really felt different than my other boots. I will be wearing this to work through rain, sleet and snow for many years to come.

While I have not been able to try the boot in the cold and rain yet (live in FL), the boots fit well. They will be used for a trip next winter to Europe. They feel a bit more "rubbery" than I expected, but to be waterproof, I guess they need to be.

Comfortable and keep the water and cold out. Come up a little lower than a lot of winter boot brands, but worth it for the quality.

Super comfy. Literally no break in required. I'd give them 5 stars .buuuuuttt they suck in water somehow when you walk through a wet field. Feet get soaked just off morning dew. I don't get it. You can walk through water above the laces and your feet stay dry. But walk a couple hundred yards through wet grass and you've got soaked socks.

The boots are very light ,which I like . It seems they are not flat in the sole, I am having trouble wearing them. Quality of the leather seems to be good and they are waterproof

I run into this more and more. The shoe manufacturers install real pretty laces that match their shoe colors, etc.., but do no tests as to their functionality. The laces on my boots are pretty, but won't stay tied, even double knotted. Real slippery.
Manufacturers need to look at total functionality, not just what looks good in the store shelves.

, bought these four to five months ago buy one pair of hikers to get me through the Snowshoe season. A positive note they were comfortable out of the box, have a very good sole for snow and ice and unlike other reviews I've had no problem with cracking across the ball on the upper. Waterproofing was great as was the insulation. Bought them a half size large cuz they did not offer wide width and I have to wear inserts, that wasn't necessary, was plenty of room, actually a bit big. On a negative note within two weeks one of the cloth lacing eyelets ripped out (adjusted by lacing around that), the soles are great on snow and ice both but so soft they show substantial wear and three sections of the tread have ripped away. Shame I really like these and would like to try them again in the correct size

Bought these boots to wear on the sideline during "Spring" athletic events in the Northeast. Loved them right away. Not only are they the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, but they are also some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I wear 8.5 in the MOAB 2 vented so I bought 9's in this and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is that after 1-2 hours of limited movement my toes begin to chill, then become ice cold, leading to cold spreading from my feet upward. I discovered that the insulation above the toe area is only a couple of millimeters thick (approximately), the thinnest at any point of the boot. If Merrell were to add more insulation there then I think these boots would keep the cold out longer. Good news is after 10 minutes of walking my feet are warm again no matter how cold they got.

Mt Washington Valley - New Hampshire. Boots are comfortable and warm; however wearing them for a snowshoe or a long walk may leave you with sweaty feet. Main gripe is - The lugs on the soles are too soft; ( in my humble opinion ) this means they move a little disconcertingly when on ice or snow. Not a full on slide, but more a step-slip step-slip kinda movement that leaves me wishing I had my vibram soled hikers on ( which aren't warm in snow ).
It's almost like they are trying to get traction in snow - the lugs bite - and then the soft compound in them makes the lugs bend; thus the "slipping" feeling.
Sorry Merrell - almost, but not quite ( for me at least ) on the money.

I purchased these boots on another site for the purpose of walking through snow at work and keeping my feet warm and dry.
I used these in 5 to 17 degree F weather and my feet stayed warm while I was moving around. My feet did not stay dry. They were wet in the first half hour.
I used these in 25 to 40 degree weather. My feet stayed warm but I walked around with saturated feet and boots for the day. I walked in snow, not wet puddles.
The shoes are very lightweight and comfortable which is great but my feet are constantly wet. I have owned many Merrell shoes and boots so I expected more. I don't recommend the boots if you want dry feet. I have

I love these boots. They kept my feet warm, dry and fit perfect from day one. Unfortunately, the left boot inside stitching did not hold up and blewout. Being a mail carrier is hard on footwear but I expected these to last longer than 43 days.

I bought these only a couple of weeks ago. I wore them only few times and at first I thought my feet were just sweating and that's why my feet were getting cold. As it turns out the left shoe is leaking water at the toes. Not sure how the water gets in. I could not find any cracks in the boot. These are suppose to be waterproof. The right boot seems to be ok. I like the look and fit of the boots, hopefully this issue will be resolved by Merrell. I just filled out the Defective Product form.

Felt great at first wear but after breaking in the left foot doesn't feel right on my toes. I decided to take the insoles out and immediately realized they are different sizes. I bought size 9.5 boots and have insoles of size 9 and size 10. The size 9 insole being on the left boot (the boot giving me issues). I'm hoping by writing this review I'll get some sort of resolution to this problem. This doesn't seem normal.
