I've had them for 5 or so months now. I have a thinner foot and fits well. If you have a more robust foot, then it will probably be pretty snug. GoreTex has been great and feet have been dry in very moist conditions like walking through a lot of dew in the grass, rain and the occasional submerging of the front toes in water for a few seconds. Shoe is very light and refreshing for long walks/adventures. If you are a climber they are also great if you get them in a fitted size. You are able to be very precise with foot placement. The only con is also it's strength. Rubber is very soft and if you are on rock or pavement a majority of the time, the tread will wear out quickly. With that being said it's also it's strength. Supreme traction for rock/pavement, loose surfaces (dusty/dry soil, sand, etc.), wet conditions and really anything you throw at it. For the average joe looking for one pair of shoes, it's probably not for you. For someone that knows their technical terrain and has multiple pairs of different shoes, this could be a great shoe to fill the arsenal. Very pleased with the shoe. If you're looking for one shoe to rule them all, the X Ultra 4 GoreTex is the best all around shoe I've worn. Period.. I've been a multi Sport athlete and put many shoes/products/brands to the test over many years. I understand it is hard to find un-bias reviews and people that give one off stories of a product failure but of all the companies I've had products from or been sponsored with (not sponsored from Salomon, nor asking to be), Salomon has consistently been the company I trust. If you have a problem, their easy to work with. Just be polite. As for Salomon. Don't take the soft rubber as a negative, it's great to have shoes like this. Cheers

for some reason the right shoe felt more comfortable than the left…maybe one foot is wider.? these boots are very narrow. i think others have mentioned it as well. they provide good support and are very light

Light and comfortable. I found that they ran a little small so I had to get a size larger. The only negative is the tongue, I wish it a little thicker with a more defined shape.

I've had the Outline Mid GTX for about a year now and just had them out on a canoeing/hiking excursion where they performed very well. These are very light and snug - they feel agile. They also keep your feet bone dry, unless you get water up over the ankle/gusset. Even in that case, these are the quickest drying Salomons I have. My only con is, due to the lightweight construction, there isn't plush cushioning and the snug fit prevents the addition of a larger insole. However, I am a large dude and have spent many long days in mountains/creeks with these and my knees and ankles always feel good afterwards, I just enjoy a little more bounce.

I've had them for a 1.5 months and primarily used them in NW Florida in the winter. It's pretty wet here and ranges from 40-70 deg F. They've done well, provided great support as all Solomon's do and they clean up well. Like most gore-tex boots, they don't do well when submerged, even for a second. Also like most Salomon shoes, they run narrow. If you have a bunion/halux valgus, you won't be happy.

I bought these shoes about 2 months ago and I love them. They are a crossbreed between hiking and running shoes. They give you the ankle support and prevent sliding inside the shoe which is needed for hiking. They are also very light, flexible, and fit true to size adding to their comfort. Best of all they don't scream hiking boots at first sight. I personally use my shoes for hunting in Texas, where a light non-insulated shoe is needed. That being said I have really put them to the test walking through thick brush and using a tree climber. Which brings up my only issues. Which is the durability around the toe box. The side of my shoe is peeling, but it's an easy fix and still waterproof. Again this is my only complaint, they are great shoes and would recommend them to anyone.

Boot was exactly what I was looking for as a lightweight, good styled boot to travel in and do day hikes while not having to pack extra shoes every time. I've had numerous Salomons in the past but this is the first time I've had an issue with the fit. Runs narrow and does not fit like other Salomon boots. Can't comment on actual performance or durability since I haven't worn them for actual use. Please make a wide version!

Been trying them since a month in the Canadian Rockies. Fits great, grip is pretty awesome in mus, rock or loose unpaved surfaces. No complaints on its functionality. But its not waterproof, I bought these gore-tex one specially because of waterproofing but its not upto the mark in that case. Salomon, i want replacement or refund to get real waterproof ones.

Bought this around Black Friday 2020. Was concerned about having the right fit. The online guide to sizing worked for me, good fit comfortable. What concerns me is the construction the little loop on the heel of the boot that assists in getting the boot on has started to tear away from the heel. Other than that the boot is great

I really loved these boots and they looked really cool but I could just not get the sizing right. They felt narrow in my usual size 9.5 but then when I returned and ordered a half size larger they were way too long.

Love the boot and everything about it. BUT. 4 months of moderate use shouldn't have reduced the soles to nothing

The first disappointment, unless you have narrow feet, is that the shoes are unusually narrow. They both look and feel narrow. If you're fortunate enough to have the fit, they seem like a fairly comfortable shoe I didn't wear them for long because in the end I just didn't care for how narrow the looked, regardlless of how they felt. Maybe you'll have better luck. Nice looking otherwise.

These quickly became my favorite boots, however they only lasted just over a year of normal wear. These boots never saw a hard hike, only really worn for casual walks and to my office job. The front started falling apart about a month ago, now the sole has started to separate from the rest of the shoe. I expected better quality for the price.

I have had these for three months and my expectations were much higher. The details of the boot say they are a slim fit, waterproof, and breathable. The slim fit is half accurate, these fit like a latex glove ratchet strapped to your foot - way too tight. I was really hoping that several hikes and daily use would loosen them up but that isn't the case. When it comes to breathability they are okay but even short hikes leave my feet and boots soaked without touching water. As for the waterproofness, I'd say they are water resistant. If you splash water on them it is fine, if you get your boots wet frequently your feet will end up soaked. I wanted something lighter and waterproof for casual wear and hikes so I decided to buy these. My other pair of Salomon's are the Guardian boots which I purchased over two years ago and still love. I wear them nearly everyday, to include a deployment, and they are still holding up great! Needless to say my expectations were much higher and the Outline Mid GTX has much to be desired.

This is the 3rd pair of boots I've gotten from Solomon. The 1st pair I got promptly had a stitching failure so I had them warranted and got another pair for free. That pair suffered another stitching failure. I went to the store to buy a different brand and tried these on just for kicks. I instantly fell in love with the fit and design. I ended up buying them after deciding to give solomon a 2nd(3rd?) Chance. Three days after hiking in them the rubber part on the toes began to separate from the shoe. I have since re-glued the shoes and I'm hoping it holds. It seems like everyone loves their solomon shoes but they don't seem to work for me. I was not being harsh on any of the boots but they seem to fall apart. It's a shame since they fit my feet so good. I won't be purchasing from solomon in the future.

The left boot began to get wet around the toes after 3 months, the outsole is thin, the strength and durability of the materials is questionable. I want these shoes back!
