I love this jacket. It's light as a feather (no, literally), it fits perfectly -- lean but not restrictive at all, and the arms are long enough to be useful in a variety of sports. I also really appreciate the thoughtful touch of putting the wire in the bill of the hood. That's clever. And I have swimmer shoulders but this still manages to fit perfectly. My only wish (and it's seriously minor) is that it came in another color. Iit does have reflective patches on it so the jacket is visible at night, but it could be even more so with some color.

Love this jacket - totally functioning as it should. I had a group run of 16 miles in cold rain. Everyone noticed the difference! Hope there are more color choices. Black doesn't provide visibility for road runners.

I was stoked to get my hands on this jacket because of the new super light GORE-TEX technology, but I was still a bit skeptical about it's breathability when I'd use it for running or cycling. It actually performs amazingly well - got caught in a torrential downpour while going up a very long and steep climb on my mountain bike yesterday. The jacket kept me completely dry. I was working pretty hard but somehow the jacket managed to get the sweat away. I crashed on the downhill into a bush and the jacket didn't tear (I saw some comments online saying this material doesn't hold up, so I was pleasantly surprised). I'm 5'5, 118 - tried both the XS and S and while both would have worked, I decided to go with the XS. I tried North Face's Hyperair jacket as well (same GORE-TEX material), and I liked the Norvan SL's fit and look much better.

I bought this last week but returned it today. It's wonderfully lightweight but the sleeves are way too long and went past my fingertips (I'm 5'3, 120lbs). I ordered a medium based on previous reviews because I wanted a slightly looser fit. I usually wear a small. I think it's ridiculous that someone my size would fit the medium meaning there is only one size above that!! Y'all really need to diversify your sizes.

I'm 5'4", weigh 120 lbs, wears 27 pants...and usually wears a size small. But I had to size up to a medium for this jacket and still the waist area feels snug..I preferred to have a more roomy relaxed look.

I should write a blog about all of the running rain jackets I have tried! This jacket is the only lightweight jacket that actually keeps you dry! Charlotte has had a rainy winter and when the temps are in the 30's and 40's with rain you have to be dry to finish long runs. I ran with only a technical t-shirt underneath and stayed warm. This jacket is worth the investment! The only thing I would change is adding a pocket and thumb holes. A must buy for running in the rain.

This would be a perfect jacket if it could just be packed into a pocket with an strap to go on your forearm when not in use.

Can you make this jacket in brighter colours and with reflectors? This would allow runners and bikers to be visible to motorists. With that change this jacket would be the perfect accessory.

I only gave the one star rating to grab the attention of Arcteryx to make this jacket in Women's size XL. After waiting through several years, I finally bought the jacket in size L and it is highly functional but fits me like a sausage. I often wear it over a light down parka and there is no room. They make their regular Norvan jacket in size XL, but apparently they think that women of size XL don't run or walk or hike??? But men who are size XL do? A lot of us middle aged women in the US don't look like your models but we are the ones with money to buy your expensive clothing and yes, we do exercise! We do expeditions. We do through-hike.
This is a great jacket. Rain beads off of it. It dries quickly when you take it off or it stops raining. It isn't this soaking wet thing. You can just wipe if off with a small pack towel so it isn't dripping in your tent. It is ultralight and crams into any side pocket. It breathes relatively well. The design is nice. So far I have found it adequately durable for trail hiking but maybe not too much bushwhacking. I had no shoulder wear from several weeks of packing but I'm waiting to see how it wears longer term under backpacking straps - it isn't advertised for that but it may be tougher than they say.
