Wear this jacket for trail running. It is very warm without over heating and crazy light. Ran a trail race in Feb. and had only a long sleeve tech shirt on beneath it. The temp. at the start of the race was 7 degrees F. The exterior was icy due to the great breathability but I was toasty warm inside. My favorite piece when the mercury drops. Arc quality as usual.

This jacket is really warm and so light weight and compact, I chose this over a down jacket and I was so astonished by the results, The build quality was outstanding (typical Arc'teryx) and the amount of heat that could could be generated was very surprising for a jacket of that size. I wear this all the time and is one of my favourite pieces of clothing! the pockets are really warm and the internal one is very handy. Overall a fantastic jacket

This is my favourite piece of clothing I own. Why? I always want to wear this jacket when I go outside. It feels so comfy: nice and warm, very light and easy to put on and off. Arc'teryx paid a lot of attention to details of which I never thought they would be important but which makes all the difference that you will notice once you have worn it for some time. Some examples: the insulation of the core loft (even if it is wet), the great front zipper (very smooth and never gets stuck), the internal lining, the breathability etc. It might look expensive compared to a regular fleece, but it is really worth the price difference. If you are not convinced: ask the sales reps in your local outdoor shop what their favourite mid layer is. Most of them will say the Arc'teryx Atom! I have both the Atom SV and LT. In contrary to some reviews on this website I don't think that the LT is warm enough for very low (sub zero ) temperatures. I live in the UK and use the SV during winter and for snow skiing in the alps (with a hard shell jacket). The LT is great for autumn and spring. Please note that the Atom LT fits a bit smaller then the Atom SV! Hence it is worth to try them on before buying.

This make a very nice lightweight baselayer under a shell, or if in the extreme conditions, a insulated shell. This one is much more of a fitted sized over the atom SV i own. Very comfortable, and the side panels allow for amazing breathability when pushing it. The slim fit allows for this jacket to be up against you, which allows for maximum heat retention which is really noticeable.

Whomever designed this jacket should get a gold star. The cuffs, side panels, fit, stitch points, etc. are all super. Haven't had an issue w/the zipper, but then, I haven't run in it yet. I am 5'10, 175lb (athletic) and the large fits me well. The shoulders are perfect (I get large in most other clothing lines). I like the extra length around the torso I get from being slightly shorter. Works great when boarding or skiing. Doesn't wind-break well at 30mph or up, but then again, isn't meant to. Would highly recommend as a base layer, or a slightly chillly fall/winter day.

This jacket is awesome! I purchased it in late January and wore it almost everyday over a t-shirt (my typical work attire) and was always toasty warm. The Power Stretch side panels made movement comfortable and never let me overheat in this year's mild Texas winter. Under a hard shell it's a great mid layer on cold, windy days. The fleece-lined hand warmer pockets felt great and perfectly held my cell and keys. I chose a medium and the fit is great; it allows some layering underneath in cooler temps. Wish there was a chafe guard at the top of the zipper, but not a deal breaker.

Bought this jacket about a month ago .. was looking for a subsitute to the common 'puffy' jackets that come out this time of year. Had bought a Arcteryx winter jacket a few years ago and was impressed with the construction/fit and quality. Was looking for a Fall/Spring jacket and came back to Arcteryx looking for a solution. Immediately landed on the Atom LT - had a great look, not the standard 'puffy ribbed' style that is so prevelant in other jackets today. Ordered it on line .. it arrived faster than promised and haven't taken off since. Cut and fit is perfect .. I am 6feet, 210lbs .. and the XL fits perfect. Large enough to fit a merino sweater underneath .. but not too big with just a tshirt. Great for walks or active exercise in colder Spring weather. Would recommed this style and jacket to anyone.

This jacket is with out a doubt, my number one go-to piece in the winter. Whether it is layering it underneath my hardshell jacket during the day on the hills, to relaxing afterwards walking around the village. The fit and level of comfort is just perfect. I also really love the Polartec fabric under the arms to allow for heat to escapes and provide a nice stretchable area to move in the jacket. Overall, the Atom LT is the greatest companion you can have that will offer you a wide range of uses and excel at all of them.

I use this jacket for cold weather cycling (30 - 50 degrees F) and it performs incredibly well. Two layers of shell (exterior and interior) to block wind, with just the right amount of insulation. Used with a long sleeved wool baselayer underneath kept me warm and dry. I would complain about how the bottom hem can't be cinched up, as it is a bit loose on me, but for cycling it's nice because I can easily lift it up and get to the pockets on the back of my jersey.

I use this jacket as a mid layer when skiing, where it performs perfectly. The jacket is very light and initially feels like it is too thin to be warm, but the Coreloft does its job. The jacket provides good breathability, and if it does get damp, dries very quickly. If you do get too hot, the jacket can be stuffed into a very small space in your pack. A consistent feature of Arcteryx clothing is the attention to sealing at the wrists, to prevent cold entering and heat escaping, and this jacket is no different I have the jacket in Blaze, which is even brighter than the image shown, and can surprise people when I take off my outer shell.

I purchased this jacket as an alternative to my down jacket. Last season I wore a down jacket on super cold days under my shell, it was fine most of the time but occasionally it would get damp or I would get way too hot. The Atom LT has been great as an alternative, it breathes much better, it is still warm, and it is not as bulky. I have been wearing this more often than my down jacket, whether it be as a midlayer, an outerlayer for mild days around town, XC skiing, climbing, or around the house. the Hardface shell material does a great job of repelling water and keeping the wind out, but on windy days I can feel the wind go right through the fleece sidepanels. The stretch wrist things are one of my favorite features of this jacket because it just feels better under my jacket, under gloves, and especially while climbing. It makes the jacket a lot more durable having it away from your hands. When you pull the sleeves up and away from your hands the stretch wrists make it stay. Overall this jacket is growing on me and I find myself putting the Atom LT on more and more than my down jacket or a fleece

I absolutely love this coat. In fact, I think it might be my favorite all time. It is a good coat for good weather days or to wear as a midlayer on poor weather days. The coat is so light and comfortable that it doesn't feel like I am wearing a coat. The cuffs are soft and offer a good amount of stretch. I much prefer these cuffs over the typical stetch band cuffs you see on most puffy coats. It doesn't have a lot of bulk, so it feels great under a shell but is still plenty warm. I wear this and my Stingray with a t-shirt at around 25F, and I add a thicker baselayer as the temps drop. I can easily go to 10F with a midweight merino as a baselayer. The fit is perfect as far as I am concerned. I am a typical medium, 5'10", 40" chest, 32" waist. There is enough room for a heavyweight crew neck baselayer, but still tight enough to work well as a midlayer. I would not want to wear a fleece under it. It fits perfect in the waist with no need for a draw string. There is a good chance you have the wrong size if you need a draw string. Don't size up with this jacket to use as an outer piece or you lose all the wonderful qualities of it. There are other jackets that serve that purpose better. The side fleece panels do a good job of venting, and it dumps heat well if I have to open the pit zips on my shell. Overall it is a great coat for the purpose I use it for, and I couldn't be happier.

I bought this jacket because I love my Atom Hoodie to bits but sometimes the hood is a bit too much to deal with when layering with my shell. Layering with this piece is amazing, it's great on it's own, with a fleece, or a shell when it gets really nasty out. I love how warm it is for how light it is. Please never stop making these jackets!

I was a bit reluctant at first because this jacket is rather plain to look at. However, this jacket is incredibly light and yet extremely warm and breathes really well. You cannot really tell you are wearing it! I have never had an article of clothing quite like this. I have worn it running in cold temps (-20C) and am looking forward to using in under my goretex shell for cold skiing days!

This jacket is one of my favorite mid-weight layers due to it's warmth, it's weight and it's wind resistant capabilities. I use it for a single layer as I commute to work and around town and the fit and wind protective properties are absolutely amazing. The side vents prevent me from overheating and even keep the wind out when I'm moving. I've used it with my shell in 14 degree F ambient and a wind chill of 0 and I was fine. I'm 5ft 8 and the small fits me perfectly. I even took a spill and skidded on asphalt for 1-2 feet and only got minor tears in it after that. Even though it looks light and not very durable, it will surprise you. I will definitely recommend it.

I love it. I went skiing in about 0 degrees C with only a base layer (Icebreaker 200 wt) underneath it and a shell on top. I warm the whole time. It's really well thought out. If you are wondering about it, simply try one on and you'll want to buy it. It feels so good. The pockets are really well done. The cuffs are spectacular! They really are perfect. I'm 6'2" 170-175 lbs and I got a large. The medium technically "fit" but the large was a better fit. It runs a little small. Oh, and get the tibetan red. Greatest color ever! Red interior. It's sharp. It's warm. It blocks wind great with the exception of the side stretch panels, but that is a good thing for some ventilation. It's one of the best jacket designs I've ever seen. I've tried to think of some way it could be better because I really like gear, and I still haven't come up with anything. (ie: see my review of the venta lt glove) This this is perfect! Now if only the SV came in a hoodless version. Best layering piece I own!

Have had this jacket for nearly a year and love it. I take whenever I go tramping because it is so light weight and compressible and works well with the phase base layers and fits well under the alpha lt. I also use it around town under my ventar AR jacket and found that was warm enough through the winter in new Zealand and had no use for my down jacket this year. This jacket does fit quite snug however I am a small in arc'teryx but feel I could probably fit a medium. All round though very happy with my atom another great Arc'teryx purchase

This jacket Is kind of like a Swiss Army knife... it can do pretty much whatever you need it to do. It stops the wind decently considering it is not a shell and its water resistant as well. It is warm, but breathable, plush but compressible. It layers very well with a hard shell, but wears great by itself. It looks great too and its something you definitely wear out like a North Face jacket (except this jacket its way cooler and more functional). I wear this with my LEAF Alpha LT jacket and it absolutely rocks layered with that shell. The system is very warm especially considering how light weight and term it is. I use that combo for skiing and it kept me warm in 15-20 deg F weather with some decent wind without a hitch. Both jackets fit pretty trim. I have a medium in the Alpha LT and a large in the Atom since it was pretty slim in the hip area.

I wasn't looking for a crazy downfilled insulating layer or a arctic winter style jacket. So I am glad I got the Atom LT. I am 6'2 150lb athletic male and the sizing is fantastic (I got medium). I wear it as a solo piece or under my other shells. It is warm enough for spring and fall but still very breathable (heck I've even worn it in the summer). I do get cold so I would need to bulk up a bit more in the winter under my shells if I wasn't active, everyday kind of stuff. I am happy with its breathability and weight. I have friends with this jacket and they say the same thing. If you are looking for a lightweight insulation piece for active winter wear or seasonal everyday wear than this is the jacket for you.

I use this on non-windy days as a lone top. The side vents do allow you to release heat when active, but let the wind in and cool you off if you are standing still. I had it on a multipitch route and got colder faster then I thought that I would because of the side vents. That being said, I topped it off with the Squamish Hoody and was totally warm because that blocks the wind like a champ!

Our warm fall weather has been perfect time to try out my Atom. It replaces for me a 10-year-old Atom that has been my travel jacket, mid layer, and all around, versatile warm-up. The new one arrived with lots of folds and wrinkles and is not as trim as my old one but I'm still wearing it on the warmer December days.
