I've owned Timberland boots in the past. I love thier ruggedness, but they're usually too heavy and clunky. These boots combine the strength and stability that I've come to expect from Timberland, but with the comfort and feel of a much lighter-duty boot. I'm very excited to have these boots for this upcoming Chicago winter!

I was surprised by how true to size these boots were. They are very comfortable and feel great to wear. Great for rainy days since they are waterproof. The only thing I don't like about them is that I think the orange in the laces is kind of ugly and makes it hard to match them with outfits, but I plan on just relacing them. Overall I would definitely recommend these boots

I use these boots for work and they are very comfortable. I have a wide foot and these help with that. I definitely recommend these boots for work or any other occasion.

Got these timberland boots a few weeks ago and I must say I was feeling that since it was the summer that my feet would just sweat, and I thankfully haven't experienced that at all. I do wear them a lot when going out at night and they fit like a comfy sneaker and not a uncomfortable boot. They have lots of support and are very heavy duty. They pair well with a nice pair of jeans. You can either dress them up or dress them for a more casual look. I can't wait to wear them a lot more throughout the winter have a feeling that they will be good in this New England weather. Very happy to have these in my closet and can wear when I want. Another thing I would like to point out is that they are very lightweight as well

These boots are comfortable, stylish, and also lightweight compared to other hiking boots! I like that it's waterproof so that I can wear it for all weather conditions. The color looks brighter than the picture.

Very good looking and comfortable shoe. The only issue I have is that the shoes seem to run small, however, they might break in. Love the style and cannot wait to take on winter in them.

This boot has some nice design features. There is a comfortable mesh liner type thing below the laces that attach to the tongue of the boot. The boot does take a few wears to break in the support at the ankle which was bit uncomfortable at first. Once broken in, the boot was super comfortable. It will be interesting to see how the boots hold up to the snow this winter.

Other than being a half size to big (which with a good pair of socks really doesn't matter) the boots are amazing. They are so comfortable and this is coming from someone who spends 8 hrs a day in a beer cave, the boots also keep my feet so warm. They also have extra hooks around the ankles for amazing ankle support. The boots are also surprisingly very light weight.

I have to say these timberland 1978 Aerocore Hiker boots are just amazing! Right out of the box the craftsmanship makes me not even want to take them outdoors. These are great for dressing up or dressing down but since they are hiking shoes I did put them through the test out in the desert mountains. The 1978 Aerocore Hiker boots really stood up to the challenge not only that but they are comfortable ( not an easy thing to accomplish) these are beyond well worth the money and have everything you are looking for in a great boot!

I used the product for style. They look great with a nice pair of jeans or khakis. Timberland has always been a trusted brand for quality, style and endurance of their products. They also can be used for outside work! They are a great versatile pair of boots!

They are very comfortable hiking boots that offer a unique style that differs from other type of boots I have used. They are not hard at all on the heel like some of the boots I have purchased in the past. I would buy this type of boot on a more frequent basis. I wasn't aware of this type of boot in Timberland's line of shoes. This was my first time wearing these types of boots. I would recommend these type from Timberland's because they are very comfortable hiking boots that you can also wear for everyday use I believe because the insole inside is very durable to withstand long walking periods throughout the day were your feet don't get discomforted. They get a very high 5 stars from me because from all the boots I have had in the past these are ones you can count on that can last for quite some time I believe. I really do enjoy how they feel and look as well.

I love these boots. I think they are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Just don't tighten them too much. The only one thing I didn't like about these boots is that my big toenail wore down the piece of fabric that covers the leather from the inside; this usually happens to me only with cheap footwear, I expected more resistant fabrics.

A great solution for both going out on the town and a true hiker. The only concern I have is that the side of the upper tongue digs into the side of my ankle unless specific care is taken to position it (abnormal attention required). Once positioned, the boot is all that it promises.

The tongue is attached to almost the top of the boot so it folds over and presses against the top of the foot. The only way I can wear these shoes is to lace them three hooks down from the top.

Really like this shoe but to me, feels a bit snug. I have other Timberland products that feel accurate when it comes to sizing. This one does not. Feels snug across the top of the foot and in the toe box. I'm hoping the leather will stretch enough over time that it will not be a concern. I can wear them for a few hours before I'm thinking "time to take them off". These offer moderate arch support and the heal feels fine.
I'd also recommend:

I like the style, they are great for work as well as mountain resorts. The fit was a little tight on my left ankle for a few days, but after breaking them, they ended up feeling great. I first used them in Breckenridge, CO, shoveling off an iced over pond. There was 1" of water and the boots held up on our waterproof agreement. However, while walking through deep snow, the tongue has a gap in it and that did let in snow so that was disappointing. I wore gaiters for very deep snow and the laces held them in very well.

Wasn't sure about this shoe when I first got it. Wasn't crazy about the color. But now I like it and get lots of compliments on it.

Timberland's Aerocore system is fantastic. I took them hiking on a mixed media trail with several muddy "stairs" to break these in and aside from one nagging point noted below, were incredibly comfortable. The boots are uncannily lightweight, especially for hiking boots, and the foam soles are very comfortable to walk on. The insole provided is supportive, but is removable in case you needed to add custom orthotics. It's great they considered this.
A downside of their foam sole is that I think it lacks just a little bit of torsional stiffness. This is key to stability on uneven and/or sloped surfaces and can reduce the risk of rolling ankles. I don't think Timberland has to change the foam, but a slight modification to the sole and tread design may accomplish this. My other hiking boots and sandals have notably more torsional stiffness.
Most seams are double stitched and the lace loops are all riveted.
A typical downnside of waterproof hiking boots are that they become sweatboxes, which can aggravate blisters. My hike was on a hot, humid day and my feet were not sweaty at the end. meaning they've made these somewhat breathable as well. This is great design.
I didn't step in any deep puddles or wear these in any downpour, so I can't comment on how effective they are at keeping water out. However, they did provide overlapping leather flaps over the tongue, which leads me to expect they would be watertight at least up to 4" of water.
One annoyance I had with these was only with the inside edge of the right boot's tongue. Where the fabric meets the leather, there's a hard lump which was digging into my ankle on my hike. The outside edge is soft and the left foot is also soft in either end. I originally thought it was folded over, but after several readjustments I realized this was not the case. I hope this softens up over time.

This boot is very comfortable! I live in the city and I haven't gone on many "hikes" per se but I have worn it around walking my dog or just going on longer walks and I find these boots to be like a sneaker on my foot. I would highly recommend these and the fact that they are waterproof is an added bonus for when it starts to rain/snow here in Chicago. The only thing I would change is that the laces are a bit too orange for my liking but that's easy enough to swap out.

Although the boots are not the most stylish, they are some of the most comfortable hiking boots I have ever owned. They are well put together and I anticipate these boots lasting for a couple of years before needing to be replaced. The cushion and support will be great for hiking and the waterproof design is perfect for inclement weather.
