Okay so confession time: I definitely use this for a dog sleeping bag. Dog sleeping bags are stupid expensive by comparison. He's a 50lb mutt of athletic build and seems to find this super comfortable - I use it as a bed for him when I need a portable bed - at the office, at a hotel room, at a camp site. He usually just sleeps on top of it, but when cold conditions warranted it, he has been totally fine with me zipping up most of the way with him curled up inside (don't do this if your dog's size would get stuck obviously, but he could shuffle about just fine, if a little awkward). When he's resting for longer periods, he seems to prefer that I fold down the top and roll it up like a pillow. He looks super chill on his sleeping bag. I mean dinosaurs, adorable. I can shake off fur and dirt from the outside pretty easily, but if your dog is a heavy shedder, the inner fabric definitely will attract hair. Have not tried to fully wash yet, but I imagine the process will be similar to other synthetic bags. Also, not the most lightweight of bag choices for a dog (or toddler) because you will probably be carrying it, but also not the heaviest considering its warmth.
